This is completely wrong, I just started watching the show again because of Cady, now your killing her off again. The Dixie and Tad story is the best in Soap, do yourself a favor keep her, it may draw rating now, but you will lose in the future. Dixie's return has gained you in ratings, now youll lose, at least you will lose me.
Please do not write Dixie out of the show. The Tad/Dixie storyline has been my favorite AMC story (other than the baby swap story). Let Dixie survive the attack!!!!!!
I can't believe what you've done to AMC. I will not watch ABC daytime or primetime shows. You have lost a loyal viewer. Oh, and did I forget to mention my daughters watch with me. They are teenagers but they love Tad and Dixie, so much for demographics. I find this disgusting. We have waited all this time for this? AMC has gone downhill lately, but this just seals the deal. I can't believe AMC and ABC would do something this stupid! I am absolutely outraged! I had watched AMC since I was 18 yrs old. I quit watching when they split Tad and Dixie up the first time. I didn't even get to see the time they had in between. When I found out Cady was coming back I started watching again. I absolutely love Cady as an actress. You have lost myself and from this petition a whole lot of viewers if she leaves. I would get on your knees and beg her to stay if I were you. Or not even Erica will be able to save this show!
Please don't kill Dixie. She was my favorite character when I was a little girl, and when I started watching again, I was devastated when I found out she had "died" in the car crash. I was thrilled to see her come back. She's the best actress you've got! I will stop watching if you kill her for good!

Even if Cady wanted to leave, you should not have let her...at the very least, you should not have killed off Dixie! How cruel to bring on an innocent 4 year old and have her, in a month's time, lose both her adopted mother and her real mother! The poor kid will be in therapy for the rest of her life! All I can say AMC is Cady better have gotten a better send-off than Julia Barr did...if not, count me out as a viewer of this show...and I have been watching for 15 years!
And while I'm at it, no more new characters, don't even think of recasting beloved characters and please keep the veterans on!
Once again, I see the need of the producers and writers to continue down the spiral of absurdity and obscurity. I have done my best to be as loyal as I can with this show that prefers to kick us longtime fans in the proverbial gonads. First Julia Barr, then Vincent Irizary, now Cady McClain. Who's next? Susan Lucci? I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted.
The show has fallen from grace in so many ways with poor story lines involving vapid and useless characters. To do this with Dixie is more of the same poor judgment.

Cady mcClain is one of the best actresses on daytime. The storyline is there with the love of her life Tad an her about to reunite with their daughter. How can the writers not see that we as long time viewers want to see the characters that we have watched since the beginning. I am saddened by this awful news and will n longer be watching AMC if they continue to treat their historically fantastic characters and actor/actresses as if they were yesterday trash.

the writing and general downfall of TV! Expensive sets and pyrotechnics DON"T replace good writing. Write good stories with proven actors,(I know younger actors are cheaper. I've been watching AMC for 35 years, what in the world is going on?? Julia, Vincent, and now Cady. Maybe Y&R will pick up Cady too. I'm tuning in to see Vincent. I've never been as disappointed in all of my years watching as I currently am.

I have watched this show faithfully for about 25 years. I have been patient through many terrible storylines and horrible actors. I have always waited out all the bad to see the good return. I am done waiting for the good. With Cady McClain's exit I will be gone as well. I'm sure Ms. McClain will find another job quickly because she is a great actress and well loved. I will be glad to start giving my support to whatever new project Ms. McClain takes on.
Pine Valley needs a couple to show there can be happy endings, just like real life. Not even Erica and Jack would fit the role like Tad and Dixie. I've been watching this show since the beginning. Now at 52 years old, there aren't any woman left I can relate to. It's a shame.
Please keep Cady. She adds interest to the show - by cutting her out, you are yet limiting yourselves to fewer and fewer story lines and you don't seem to realize you are on a crash course to nowhere. Cady is pretty, delightful and she and Tad bring life and continuity to the show where you have shut many major players down. I don't sign on the board, but I do feel so strongly that you are ruining the show by getting rid of veteran actors and not giving them the story line. Soon, no good actor will want to even be on AMC. I've been an AMC fan for 8 years now. I've got other things to do with my time if you want to keep killing the show - remember - there are a lot of us out there that don't go on the board, but we are here, watching your every decision go astray.

I don't understand how one man's opinion can outweigh the opinions of so many viewers. I was raised on this show and loved to watch it for many years. I stopped watching the show for a few years when it became stagnant, but once Dixie's character was back on the show, my family and I started watching again. Cady is a wonderful actress and the chemistry between her and Michael is wonderful. AMC hasn't had a supercouple in many years and Tad and Dixie are it. They always have been, but the writers are messing it up! The viewers have been patient waitig for Tax and Dixie to get back together and to find their daughter...and what do the writers do?? They are going to kill her off! Are you crazy? Don't the viewers count anymore? The show is becoming absurb. No offense to the actresses that play Babe and Crystal, but enough is enough with those two characters. We never see Joe, we hardly see Myrtle and now this travesty with Tad and Dixie. If Cady leaves, my family will not watch the show anymore and if she goes to another soap, I hope Michael E. Knight goes with her and we'll start watching that show. AMC's ratings will fall further into the toilet if you do this terrible thing.
I think the writers should really look at what the fans want, and not just some egomaniac!
I'm so sad that the characters with so much history are slowly finding themselves written out of AMC. Dixie's loss will be felt for years to come. We need a new core couple, and nobody else can fill that role except Tad and Dixie.
We as fans have waited years for her return, there is a number of options for her, she is a very strong character, and has made watching lately worth while. Why? Why bring her back to kill her off, AMC has put us thru the ringer lately, alot of popular characters have gone, lets save this one.....

I think this is the final proof we needed that AMC does not care about its viewers. I was in love with Tad and Dixie since before I was ten and I faithfully watched them through the years through nearly all of their story. Dixie’s ‘death’ last time at least showed some respect for the viewers, it was true to the couple and to the characters. This…well the nicest way to say it is a pathetic attempt to cut costs and draw interest because they can’t do that with storylines like their opponent, Y&R, so they must have numerous serial killers in a year, this is shame. A waste of all the years and love we’ve given to these characters. Regardless of their feelings about Cady, they were aware of the viewers’ feelings towards her, especially the loyal followers of the show, who watched despite the numerous bad storylines and characters we dislike. If they truly felt she no longer belonged on the show they could have given us an ending we could have accepted…
Written off into the sunset somehow with phone calls home or remarks in a storyline regarding her new life…
Tragically and gravely injured darting out to save Kathy from being struck by a car finding out the truth just in time to find peace before moving on, giving her not only a hero’s death, but redemption. After all she so willingly risked her life for her children on numerous occasions to die for one could have given the remaining characters a bit of peace.
If they were so devoted to including her in this horrible storyline, her waking up memory free to David (because after all it’s David and he could totally do it and what better pay back to those who have wronged him, all while reclaiming Dixie), but considering how they treated Vincent, I doubt he would have come back no matter how much begging they tried. There was always the option of Ted, since Michael E. Knight played him as well and they’re still paying his salary. Ted certainly had the money and the means
Why even bring back this character just to kill her off when she finaly finds her daughter. Stupid decision. I have stopped watching OLTL because of the stupid writing on that show now it looks like I'll have to stop watching AMC too.
This is another huge mistake on the part of the people in charge at AMC. I have watched AMC all of my life (literally), and this is enough to make it so that I will never do so again. Too many returns of excellent talent wasted with horrible stories, too many veterans let go for younger "talent". Remember who your audience is, and try not to make all of them angry.
How can they kill off Dixie just when the Kate storyline is about to pay off. They spent so much time building up to this just to throw it away. Just plain stupid

Why don't you get rid of the kid that plays Colby? She is useless and boring and obnoxious. Her storyline is ridiculous. We (the pople) who was and support the show and their sponsor ask for you to bring her back. So why would you get rid of her? She is one of the most important people to this soap.
The hope of seeing Tad and Dixie reunite with each other and their daughter is the only thing that keeps me watching this show, especially after so many of my favorite veteran characters have been underused/let go in the past few years. If Cady goes, I'm deleted AMC from my Tivo schedule.
