If Dixie dies, I am finished watching AMC. I've watched for 28 years, and I'm tired of the unsympathetic characters and "couples" that highlight the current show. I've been waiting all year for Tad and Dixie to get back together, and apparently I've been wasting my time. No more! If Dixie truly dies, I have no reason to watch AMC.
I am completely and utterly saddened and stunned by this announcement. My inital reaction is "WHY????" I guess the powers that be at AMC want to piss off the loyal viewers and watch the ratings go even lower. I have watched since I was 12...let's see, that makes 30 YEARS!! Guess what..I'm NOT.. repeat NOT a loyal viewer any longer.
Sorry AMC.. you blew it.
Please, please do not do this. Cady is awesome, Tad is not Tad without Dixie, he needs her. I do not think I can watch him lose her yet again. Cady McClain is the only reason I watch this soap. Please reconsider your decision, and get Cady back. I am begging you. The show needs Cady!!!!
of all the asinine things AMC has done in recent years, this is the most unforgivable. You bring back Dixie, just to kill her? Tell me how that is true to the spirit of AMC?
Why is it that no one care about the true fans? It feels like the running of the show has been taken over by aliens who haven't a clue how to drive storylines or ratings for the good of the show and it's fans.
AMC's ratings are awful. Why not try a "happy" storyline for a change like Tad and Dixie being together forever? I was thrilled when Dixie returned and am so disappointed in the writers for killing her off.
I have been watching All My Children since I was little. I love Tad and Dixie. Killing her off is sad. She just got back, how rude. My mother is swearing off the show if Dixie leaves. If mother swears it off I will have to as well. Please save Cady/Dixie.
This decision is a travesty, although I'm not at all surprised since the higher ups on soap sets treat the actors/actresses like disposable garbage. How dare you use Cady's return to boost your horrible ratings and then in return give her the boot? Oh well, your lose will probably be As the World Turns gain.
First off you cannot kill off someone who on the canvas of AMC is a part of everyone's story. It's obvious that this is a rating stunt for february sweeps. I know soaps kill off characters but to kill off someone that will always be part of the AMC history is STUPID!!
I think all the cast cutting lately has sucked! But why Dixie? After all the weeks of anticipation you put us through with her return??? It has to end this way??? Hmmm wonder how she will come back to life next time?
Offer Cady WHATEVER SHE WANTS! AMC can't stand to lose another quality actor, nor can they afford losing another MARTIN FAMILY connection (there are many more stories yet to tell...)! Besides, it's TOGETHER, FOREVER!!!

I stopped watching AMC when Cady left. The storylines were awful. But after she came back, I was a faithful watcher. It just doesn't make any sense. I for one probably will drop AMC from my daily tapings in a very short time unless something changes like letting Cady stay.
I have waited so long for Dixie and Tad to get together. You are going to kill her off before she know her daughter is found. I realy wish you would re-think this move.

What a ridiculous thing to do! And an irreversible one at that. They can't very well bring her back from the dead again! I think a much more interresting storyline would be her reunion with her daughter and with Tad. I would like to see a little happily ever after instead!
As a long time viewers of over 28 years and a fan of Tad and Dixie since they first meet...I am so upset with the recent firing of Cady McClain and the killing off of the most beloved character ever, Dixie Martin! The powers that be at AMC have lost their minds and their ratings will comtinue to decrease. Cady was the heart of AMC and without her the show will never be the same. The way Cady and all of us longtime fans were treated was absolutely horrible. Firing Cady and killing off Dixie was the worst mistake the powers that be could of ever made! After Cady's last scenes I will be deleting AMC off my Tivo! They treat their vets like crap and wonder why their ratings are so horribly low! Cady and Michael was the best and AMC has lost its heart!
Please keep Cady/Dixie on AMC. To bring her back then kill her off, I just don't understand. Tad/Dixie are now finding each other again and falling in love - please keep her on the show.

There is so much AMC History behind the Tad & Dixie pairing and how because of "creative decisions" you have decided to end one of most popular pairings in Daytime TV??? So are we expecting Susan Lucci to be next on your chopping board???
All My Children used to be one of the most incredible soaps I had ever watched. This is mostly thanks to the love betwen Tad and Dixie. The writers need to do themselves a favor and rewrite this travesty of a storyline!
Firing Cady is the biggest mistake AMC has ever made! Killing Dixie, and leaving no way of bringing her back is practically suicide. I don't think AMC will be around much longer without it's veterans. They(and a select few young characters) are the only reason to watch the show. If you want to kill someone close to the Chandlers, kill Krystal or better yet, kill Colby!

I have watched the show since 1978. I was thrilled when Dixie returned last year, and even more glad that the story was FINALLY going to get her and Tad back together, plus Kate. Now she's going and I'm done with AMC. They have gone too far, this time!
I have watched AMC since it began. I am thoroughly disgusted with the writers lately. Please do not fire Cady. I was thrilled that T&D were finally going to be reunited and find Kate after all this time. If it is something Cady said I am sure it wasn't that bad. You will lose more viewers over this one than it would be worth.
Why did you even bring Dixie back if you just wanted to kill her. I am so sick of the Babe a thon already. I am thirty years old and have watched soaps since I was a kid and lately I am disgusted by what has been happening on the Soaps. What is happening to the women over thirty. They do exist.

I don't think you should kill of the character if Cady wants to leave then we wish her the best, but I think you should get a replacement. We adjusted to Di acting as Dixie. It would be terrible for Kathy/Kate to lose 2 mothers.
I think we all knew that someday Dixie would return. After four long years of watching Tad suffer without the love of his life, you want to take her away permanently??? I was so looking forward to watching the "super couple" get together again with their newfound daughter. There is SO much storyline there! I like Zach and Kendall too but the history just isn't there yet. Hasn't Tad suffered enough? If you're going to get rid of Dixie, you might as well kill Tad off, too, because then I can just quit watching! I didn't watch for the 3 years that Tad was "killed off" after his struggle with Billy Clyde Tuggle. I only started watching again when he returned and have been a faithful watcher every day. Needless to say, when I heard Dixie was going to die for good this time, I was very stunned and very angry. How can you do that to the fans who have shown so much loyalty over all these years? KEEP DIXIE ALIVE! And in Tad's arms.
PLease don,t get rid of Dixie she is my most favorite person on this show. The love story her and Tad share on this show is the best one as long as I have watched (25yrs.).
Please do not get rid of Dixie. I have been watching AMC since your 1st episode and this is the last straw! Why should I watch it anymore, when you kill a great actress and a fantastic storyline!

Cady McClain is a great little actress,, she does very well with what the writers have been "horridly" giving her to deal with,,,,, To write her out of the program is a mistake, We don't want her gone,, JUST YOU find a few writers that know what her charactor really was like and bring that Dixie back. I was glad she was back,, Tad and her are the ideal couple. lots of chemistry,,,even now after all these years,, POOR writing is not her fault. I have seen this show since 1971,,,Please do not get rid of her

This is just the most ludicrous in a series of firings by AMC. I'm not sure how much longer I can watch -- and after 37 years, that's tough to say. I hope AMC thinks it is worth it to destroy their audience base on the 'hope' they lure in younger viewers. I followed Irizarry to Y & R, a soap who treasures the vets and brings in new characters in strong storylines (mostly). Hey, no one is perfect!

I am disgusted at the firing of Cady. I have watched the show since I was a little girl with my mom, and I feel this is a huge slap in the face to the viewers. We have waited so long for tad and Dixie to be together with kate and to end it like this is cruel. As you fire these vetern actors, you are not only losing history, but viewers as well.
i have been watching amc sinse i was old enough to understand what soaps were. i'm in my 40's and my daughter which is 27 started watching the soaps with me. she loves tad and dixie, and we were really excited dixie was coming back, then whoever writes for this show made a mckery of such a talented actress, and now you fire her and we are seeing the old dixie finally back which we love!! such a waste!!! i was mad about david being fired, and hoped sooner or later he and krystal would end up together, but you wasted that one to, and for what a focus group!!!
This is the one hour of tv I watch during my day. It's my little break from SATM. Firing Dixie is the last straw. I'm going to find another channel to watch.
Why is it that it always come down to money? Keep Cady and get rid of Zoe (Zorf)and all of those part time actors. Dixie is like Erica the show is always better when they have a juicy storyline. You need to review your age group, most of your fans are not teenagers and could care less about Colby and Shawn and all of the other "tiny bobbers". You need to keep the show on an adult level.
You cant let her find her daughter and her happiness with Tad and JR, just to rip her out of their lives again. She is one of the best actresses and you want to take her away again. This is just crap and you will regret making an action like that.So save us all the trouble and just keep her!

I have been a loyal viewer since I was a little girl. 25 years of loyal viewing. I love Dixie and do not think I can endure another of my favorite characters being written off. It is apparent that the writers are not catering to what the viewers want to see. You really need to reconsider this move.

Dixie/Cady is vital to the success of AMC! Of course she is not the only one...there are a few others. If the cast needs to be trimmed, then Babe and Krystal should be at the top of the list. They are sickening! TPTB might as well nuke Pine Valley and get it over with!!
