I have been watching AMC since 1977 and one of the only reasons I continue to watch is because of Tad and Dixie. I had stop watching when Dixie left the last time and started again when she came back. I have been a complete Tad and Dixie fan and for AMC not to at least let us Tad and Dixie fans see them reunite with their daughter is cruel. Over the years that is all I ever wanted to see was Tad and Dixie have a baby together. At least give us this for a little while then do your dirty work.

All My Children has been turned into an after school special. Dixie was one of only a handful of actors left worth watching. You are getting rid of them one by one. And you seriously wonder why your ratings are falling? Look in your own backyard (the writers) - that's where the majoring firings need to take place - not the veteran actors. You have destroyed this show!
This is so sad. Such an incredible character, with so much to offer the show and the ratings. All my children should just change there name. The show will never be the same.

It's time for soaps to return to creativity instead of, flash and shock value. Day time drama is great when talented writers with vision are involved. Sadly as of late, I've seen neither on most of ABC's soaps esspecially AMC, and thier irresponsible firing of Cady.
I have watched since the opening credits on the first day. Killing off Dixie when her and Tad are just realizing they still love each other is horrible. I guess they don't care about the 'old' viewers.

The Dixie is one of my favorite characters. It's one of the only good things AMC has going for it these days. Put Tad & Dixie back together if you want to save the show and watch your ratings RISE!
Keep Cady as Dixie. It was great seeing actors return. Now they are all leaving and the show is going downhill. I've already stopped watching as often and switched to One Life to Live.
I have been watching AMC since the 70s.However, between the Zarf/Zoe storyline and now Dixie leaving, I will DEFINATLEY stop watching AMC..It is SAD that because of poor writing you are losing many loyal,long time viewers..Poor Aunt Pheobe must me turning in her grave!!
Cady is an excellent actress and deserves to stay on AMC and be given the storylines she deserves. I am a 37yr viewer, and I am appalled at the storylines, their non-connection to history and to the true nature of these wonderful characters. Dixie is a prime example of how they have ruined this remarkable show.
If anyone reads this, send an e-mail to Michael.A.Cohen@abc.com in protest of the firing of Dixie. I don't know if it will do any good, but I sent him an e-mail and hopefully if enough people send e-mail he will get it in the hand of the powers that be at AMC to fire the writers, rewrite the storyline, and rehire Cady "Dixie". I am so furious about this and I hope we can get Dixie back....Linda
I've been watching AMC since junior high and Tad and Dixie have always been the best couple. Now that they are on the verge of finding themselves and their family again, killing Dixie off will only serve to turn your viewers off.
i dont understand how you could let her go when you brought her back for the s/l with madden, tad and kate...this has a long way to go before its conclusion..you set us up AMC and thats not nice
I have been so disappointed with AMC these past months. Beloved characters and actors have been let go for reasons that don't seem to make sense. It seems that TPTB don't really care at all about what the fans want or why they watch. Tad and Dixie have been the heart of AMC for years, and to have this huge buildup to a reunion, only to cut them off at the knees is apprehensible. I don't think TPTB have any idea just how much this will destroy the show. I for one will no longer be watching. Kendall and Zach are two of my favorite characters, but out of principle, I refuse to watch. I hope all of you do the same until they bring Dixie/Cady back to the show.
I have watched AMC on & off since the beginning. I tape the show every day and watch every nite! I as so excited when I learned that Dixie (Cady) was coming back. I have waited for Dixie and Tad to get back together. I love them together! I really wanted them to find Kate and be a happy family! I will being leaving AMC. It's just the same as before. I was drawn in to watching AMC because of Dixie's return. Cady portrayed her with such depth, and now you're going to dump her!! If you care one iota about what your fans think, you would keep her and heat up the storyline between Tad and Dixie -- that's what we've been waiting for!!

I have watched All My Children for about 25 years. While I do occasionally dislike a storyline or the unreality (I am an RN in a hospital and pretty much nothing is accurate in the hospital settings), I have rarely refrained from watching due to these happenings. This will all change if Dixie is killed off. Tad and Dixie are a part of soap history, rarely has a couple been so loved by the fans. A soap couple who engage the viewers so, that we are shattered when we see their pain. We were so elated that Dixie was brought back, after hoping and wishing on the Christmas star for years. We may not have liked Dixie's storyline, but we hung in there. While we acknowledge that soap aperas are not reality, the reunion of Dixie with Tad, JR, Jamie and soon to be with Kate, give us a sense that all is right with the world. To end this long awaited reunion that so many fans have been hanging their hopes on by the sudden death of Dixie, a mistake by a serial killer, seems to be poor planning at the least, with no insight and no regard for viewers' thoughts or opinions. If this is merely to save money as has been speculated, surely the fans would rather have the brainchild of this storyline let go, be it McTavish herself. Killing of beloved characters (or having them disappear) will not save money in the long run (remember "Loving"). This is truly AMC's "jumping the shark" that will hurt in the long run. As for David as a serial killer, also highly implausable, but I will not start. That is a different story. Please do what it takes and save Dixie before it is too late.
Besides agreeing with the rest of these dear people, I have watched AMC since it started. I always thought it was great that you had Ruth and Joe as a safe haven for "All their Children"...but they are not there anymore. Killing off Dixie is the worst thing you could do, because Tad and Dixie should be the new Martins that make up "AMC". You also are splitting up Erica and Jack which would be another couple that sets the tone of the show. What are you thinking?
What is wrong with you people? You are killing off all the important characters. Characters with history and depth. David vanishes, along with Brooke, Opal, Marian, Stuart. The list goes on. Who is next? Adam, Tad?
This makes absolutely no sense. Cady is a great actress and the character is vital to the show. Please bring Cady back as Dixie. I too have watched the show for 30 years and she is one of the best things about the show. I also applaud AMC for the Zarf/Zoe story. I think it is important and fairly well written.
I have been watching AMC for over 25 years and I was going to stop when Julia Barr was let go, but I kept tuning in just to see Tad & Dixie reunite and find their daughter, Kate. Dixie's final day in Pine Valley will be my last day watching. Please reverse this decision and fire a truly expendable character like Jonathan, Babe, or Krystal!
I just started to watch amc again because of Cady and re-establishing the value of the actress and chracter. Long standing deserve better than this, charcaters they leave their mark as they go though their roles are key to a shows longevity and success. Now Cady McClain is being let go because of bad writing! I quit watching AMC last week (when I read the boards and found out they were killing Dixie) and I have not missed it at all!!

It completely sucks to think that she is being killed off just as we were about to get a Tad/Dixie reunion. Why even bring in Kathy/Kate with Dixie leaving? This is rediculous! I have been a loyal viewer of AMC since its inception, and, until recently, I have enjoyed it immensely. However, now is seems like the "writers" of this show have little or no regard for their loyal viewers; that has become painfully apparent by the mass exodus of veteran characters! Why bring Dixie back in the first place, put us through the painfully slow "Where/who is Kate?" storyline (which now seems pointless!) only to fire Cady so that Dixie will disappear---again?! I beg of you to reconsider this move!
Killing Dixie and firing Cady is the final nail for All My Children. It sends a message to the viewers that, frankly, those who make the decisions about the show do not care about them. If David can leave for good; Brooke can disappear without a trace; and Dixie can be killed off before the completion of the arc fans have been waiting for...then no character is save and no fanbase is important to the show or the network. Good luck with that attitude.
I have watched AMC for many years and was excited when Dixie was brought back. I can't believe your are killing her off just as she and Tad and finding their way back to each other and finding Kate. This show is definitely taking a turn for the worse and if Cady is fired it may just be my time to turn the TV off.

AMC has made a very horrible mistake. With the firing of Brooke and David and now this with Dixie I am finished. I have been a very faithful viewer of AMC for 23 years and all I have to say is I am extremely pissed off with ABC for how this has been handled.
