I'm a younger viewer(22), which is who I hear the show is trying to bring in more of. I like Dixie. I think Cady McClain is a very talented, and beautiful actress. I was looking forward to seeing her and Tad back together. I think it was a big mistake to let McClain go. Especially since you just let Julia Barr go.
Never thought I would say this, but after 37 years I will no longer be watching AMC. Why kill off the character who increased your ratings? Shame on you!!!

Unbelievable is the only way to describe AMC's killing of Dixie. I have watched the show for many years, and the quality of the show has progressively deteriorated. I stopped watching the show religiously as I once did because it doesn't have the appeal it did during the old Tad and Dixie days. I've watched every day since her character returned, but the day she is killed off will be the last time I ever watch. Too bad for AMC that they don't realize what viewers want, which is the characters who made it worth watching. I'll start watching the soaps on channel 5 because it's obvious they value their veteran stars...they're still on years later. AMC should not have brought Dixie's character back, destroyed her image, and then kill her off. Nothing was gained except to lose the fans who waited for her return. At the very least she could have left in search of her daughter, leaving those of us who love her character to keep watching and hoping for another return. Who writes this show now.
Keep Dixie! Her return was the ONLY reason I stayed with AMC. It had lost it's fire with me a while ago, what with the whole "It's all about Babe" s/l.
I read in the pages of Soap Opera Digest about Cady and I was shocked. I have been waiting for the writers to write her a romance with Tad, David or Zach. I can not believe they would kill off a beloved character such as Dixie. I can not take any more JR anger either. I want to see him happy with a new love. Thank you.

If AMC doesn't somehow bring back Dixie and Cady McClain, I am done with this show. They brought an aborted fetus back to life...they can certainly bring Dixie back if they want to.
I was in shock when I heard that Dixie was actually going to kill of the character of Dixie. Dix and Tad fans have waited so long for a reunion and know the writers do this. I came back to AMC because of this couple. Today was my last day. You are losing sight of who has supported this show for year.
Somebody needs to let the writers know that Soap fans want romance and family, not blood and guts and death. We get enough of that on the news. This is supposed to be escapism. Now you kill of the best romantic couple on the history of the show, after teasing us with their reunion for over a year. I have been watching All My Children for over 30 years. I was angry when Brooke wss fired and David was fired. Thi is going way to far. My mom would send me newspaper clippings when I was in summer camp.This really depresses and angers me to know that this is happening. What's going on AMC? You obviously no longer care about those of us who have been watching this show since the beginning. In 30+ years it has never been this boring - don't fire Cady - keep Dixie - fire the writing staff. Fix our favorite show quick before the diehards all give up and nobody is left watching AMC.
I can't believe AMC would EVEN consider letting Cady/Dixie go, I have watched AMC since 1976, I loved when Tad finally saw Dixie and all the memories were flashed, their storyline is just starting, what is the point of finding Kate if Dixie isn't there also. AMC DON'T DO IT.

I can not believe that they are killing Dixie. In my opinion the possiblity of a reconciliation with Tad would have been great for ratings. And, we have all hung on hoping she would find Kate. So is she going to find out on her deathbed that Kathy is Kate? Give me a break. I have never written anything negative about AMC or the writers until now. This is just plain wrong.

im already fast forwarding half of your bad story lines. now you want to kill off the last reason i watch this show. ive been a faithful watcher since 1977, and cady is one of the reasons i still watch. if this is not her personal decision, this is the worse move you could make. most of the interesting characters are gone, and your storylines just arent worth watching. please change your mind.

Dixie has always been my favorite character. The show knows that she is a fan favorite! I find it EXTREMELY insulting to the fans as well as Cady and Michael to let Cady go and not put Tad and Dixie together and reunite them with Kate. And to kill her off permanently, never being able to come back is the most insulting thing of all. If this is true AMC has lost a viewer FOREVER!!!!!

This is a horrible decision! Firing Cady McClain is the worst thing that could happen to AMC! Please keep Dixie as part of the show. Tad deserves to be with Dixie and their little girl.
Give me a break, can AMC please have a little happiness? I think you should let Dixie stay and let her find out that the little girl that Julia now has is hers and then Julia lets her have a part in the little girls life and Dixie agrees not to try to take her because of all she has been through already.
I am so disappointed that they are killing off Dixie - again! It was great having her back on the show and I'll really miss watching her. I'm especially upset that she may have been fired because of speaking out on the way they got rid of Brooke (Julia Barr). She was a great character too - enough cutting of our beloved characters. They are like family to us loyal viewers! Grrrrr!
I came back to AMC because of Dixie's return. I am now leaving again. I tape the show and fast forward through all the parts that "supposedly" the fans want. I wanted to see the Tad and Dixie journey. You have totally spoiled that and I am angry.

I'm furious! I have watched AMC since it's beginning (when it was really good). It's gone pretty downhill the last few years, but Dixie 's return and her scenes with Tad made AMC special for me again. I can't believe you've fired Cady - she's worth her weight in gold. You've lost one more viewer, ABC. And it looks like there will be many more, from the message boards I'm reading.
I didn't like the show anymore until Dixie came back. She and Tad have always been good together. Why Fire her? The Zoe/Zarf character is what is stupid. I'll go back to watching Days if Dixie goes.

I really think that you guys need to write her back in. Even if you have to kill annie off and bring Dixie's Soul back, just like you did AL on OLTL. That was extream, but DIXIE is fabulous and therefore, only worthy of the cast of All My Children. With that in mind, if your even thinking of doing some weird twist like Days did, I will no longer watch this Soap. ABC daytime is above that nonsence. Please bring HER BACK

This was such a bad idea to let dixie go. the story had so much to offer to the fans of tad and dixie. And to have her leave before she finds out who her daughter is (wow) poor writting. And not to mention not giving tad and dixie another chance at love. This story would have been a great love story (period). I hope your ratings go down !!!

Getting rid of Dixie is CRAZY!!! I have never been so disgusted at the ending of a storyline, as the Tad/Dixie/Kate. Please don't get rid of Dixie, she is the reason I started watching again.
