I am seriously disappointed in AMC for killing off Dixie. It is such an insult to the devoted audience. I was questioning the writing and I finally went to the boards to find lots of agreement. Wake up AMC. You need real writiers who will honor the characters. I may not watch any more.
I've been waiting for Dixie and Tad to reunite and find Kate for so long. This is a huge disappointment. They have such great chemistry and you are throwing it away. I watched the show Friday and was so excited that Tad and Dixie were finally going to be reunited and than it ends with Dixie COLLAPSING??? I was so upset, I ran to the spoilers to make sure she would make it and WHAT HAPPENS??? This is isn't excellent writing and an interesting storyline twist, this is just disappointing to the loyal fans that have been lying in wait for for one of the best couples on daytime soap to re-unite. The writers are so disconnected from the fans. How about instead of killing off every beloved character...you fire the writers and get some actual fans to write the show!
I have been a long time fan of AMC. Admittedly, I have tuned out from time to time. Tad and Dixie always brought me back. It is insulting the way they are firing Cady. She is irreplaceable in the role of Dixie. What of the Christmas episode where it seemed that if the home was put back together, they would get Kate? I guess it's okay in your minds for both fans and Christmas angels to be wrong. It's a shame that there's nothing to look forward to on this now cruddy soap.
I have been watching AMC from the start. My daughter Tivos' it. That is over now. You have taken too many of the talented actors and replaced with younger ones who arn't as interesting.
I do believe you should REPLACE THE WRITERS. Give the Fan base the actors they want to see not. Kendal and Babe arn't worth staying faithful to the show. TIME FOR A NEW CHANNEL.
it just doesn't make any sense, there goes the whole story-line about little Kathy and Julia, now what??? Why can't they get rid of Di instead, she's never quite been right for that show anyhow. It was the only soap I watched and now I guess I have to give this one up too. They just won't leave it alone. And then Jack's leaving, who's gonna be left? Brooke is gone, why not fire Michael Knight too and then Ryan Lavery. Then, yeah, let's kill off Adam Chandler. Who's left?
I am quitting All My Children while Dixie is off the show. I quit the show before when the Bianca gay Bianca is back I was bothered by that and the whole Zoey thing so All My Children has made it very easy for me to quit again without Dixie since she was the only reason I came back to the show. I will be thrilled when the show is cancelled and the powers that be get what they deserve. Why would you kill off Dixie how rediculous. Whithout even resolving the Kate storyline first. Why did you bring her back just to kill her off. Obviously AMC is only concerned about promoting their own social agenda.
Please don't kill her! They are your next Joe and Ruth - they are the core family with core values- them raising their daughter together and other's connections to them is the future of your show.
This is just so wrong on so many levels.The show has wasted such a tremendous opportunity to write a wonderful story reuniting Tad and Dixie with their daughter.It is a hugh mistake to fire such a talented actress and keep so many mediocre actors that fans have investment in.
Please do not kill Dixie off the show. She is excellent. How cruel to kill her off, without her and Tad getting back together, without her ever finding her daughter, and after JR becoming a bit more human. Lately, AMC has disappointed, but if Dixie dies, I think I may be done with the show.

She and Tad were getting back together, Kate is newly orphaned, and Jr & Babe really need her too! You shouldn't kill one of the only "backbone" couples left in Pine Valley. There are no long term stable relationships in your storyline. Joe & Ruth were the last couple I remember who supported a moral & loving example of what a marriage and family should be. I've been watching AMC for over 40 years and I believe that your fan base want and need at least 1 solid family in Pine Valley who can characterize what the values in America USED to be. PLEASE KEEP DIXIE ON THE SHOW AND HAVE HER & TAD GET BACK TOGETHER!!!!
For years we waited patiently for Dixie's return. To kill her off now when Tad finally after all of his heartbreak has a chance to be happy again shows what sadists are writing this show. Dixie is one of the few characters on this downward spiraling show that brings joy to the screen. I have been watching this show for 30 yrs and time after time I have stood by while the writers have killed off the best characters, but this time I will stand by no longer. I cannot believe that you are doing this to your loyal fans who have stood by this show for years waiting for Dixie's return...just to be killed off for the shock value. My VCR will now be taping movies from AMC (the american movie channel) instead of AMC the soap!!!
AMC things they are going for the younger demographic, but I hate to tell them, I am in that category and this category loves the veterans. I am disqusted with them getting rid of Dixie, and I am scared of finding out who they kill next (if they go anywhere near Erica or Jackson, I will never ever watch it again).

I was very disappointed when I read what was going to happen to Dixie in Soap Opera Digest. I can not believe they are getting rid of their best actors and replacing them with younger, unexperienced ones. I have watched AMC for years and years. I can only hope some intelligent exec's step up and stop this horrible story line.
I have watched AMC since the beginning when I was a kid. The latest changes are just getting worse and worse. Tad and Dixie's relationship has always been my favorite from the very beginning when he saved her from Adam and his plan to have her declared insane.
While, I can understand AMC wants to appeal to a younger audience, most of the younger actors are about as one dimensional and appealing as my teenagers' friends. And you know what, THEY DON'T WATCH AMC OR ANY OTHER DAYTIME SOAPS FOR THAT MATTER.
This is definitely the final straw for me. I just finally was getting used to the new filming methods they are using (was really annoying at first) and was looking forward to seeing more storylines about Tad and Dixie's so very passionate relationship. Watching more of Erica's oh so selfish behavior that she has apparently passed down genetically to her children (including the fetus saved by Greg Madden) no longer interests me. I guess I can just add this one to the list of ABC soaps I quit watching already, like OLTL and GH.

I cannot believe they killed Dixie, after all the promotions for a "Christmas Miracle" which did not occur. To have her search for years, to then not even get to know her daughter for a single minute, other than as someone elses' child. There is no "spin" that ABC can do to make this work, no closure available. To make this death absolute, tells us, the fans, that we do not matter to ABC. Well, I'm finally getting the message ABC, I have stopped watching AMC as of today. I cannot watch the travesty that will be shown.
watched amc today and was elated with tad and dixie's kiss,only to find out later that Cady MCclain has been fired! Are the heads at ABC crazy? Cady is an amazing actress and it was fantastic to see her once again light up the screen with Micheal Knight.Your Christmas miracale story gave us false hope of Tad and Dixie finding their Kate. The writing on this show just keeps getting worse and worse. It's like they dangle a carrot and then deliberately disappoint us. AMC's producers obviously have contempt for the current viewers. I don't know how the sponsors can tolerate it, either. I've been watching in anticipation of Tad & Dixie reuniting, and I have been jerked for the last time. I'm done unless they rehire Cady and finish what they started.

I watch AMC with my wife and am angered at the fact that Cady McClain has been fired. We have always enjoyed watching Tad and Dixie, we look forward to it and we were looking forward to them rekindling their love for eachother and finding Kate. When you kill her off you will be killing us off as well. We will no longer watch.
Dixies role was just getting interesting again.Ive been watching since the first episode but I am close to giving it up for good. the decisions and writing are getting very weak. Never thought I would but its getting to be a waste of my time to watch. AMC needs some stability and matriarchs. That was the glue that held it together in the past. OLTL has Vicki, Phebe is dead, who does AMC have these days...?

this will make me stop watching AMC .. I have watched since the day it started and the Tad/Dixie storyline was my favorite. Now, they are finally going to have their child, and they choose to kill Dixie, if I see Josh chase Babe one more time, I think I will barf .. the Krystal/Adam storyline is also barf material....it was bad enough when they made Brooke disappear.
