I am 26 yrs, and only started watching the show more when Dixie returned. Cady is an awesome actress, and great singer, if you take her away, its your loss! The show wouldn't be worth watching without her.
Dixie's character, at least in the last year, is very much tied to so many other characters on the show. Tad (who I'm guessing is next on the guillotine) JR (so will he totally lose his mind?) Jamie, Palmer, the list goes on. If Dixie REALLY gets killed off, then I'm not watching.
Never mind. I haven't been watching since Doc Madden got shoved in a box and Tad did it.

You really need to re-think the decision to kill off Dixie. This makes no sense at all just when Tad and Dixie are about to re-unite with Kate. Get rid of Zarf/Zoe instead/ I have watched AMC since 1978 and because the storylines lately with the transgender is so unreal and gross I have quit watching until that story is resolved and he/she is gone. With Dixie gone and Tad and JR destroyed again I don't think I will bring myself back to watch again. Kill Di. Her character is totally worthless.
I am 26, and have been watching this show for as long as I can remember... and now, with this recent development, apparently we are going to watch it go down the drain- if we stick around! A very special thanks to McTrash for ruining what was once the best soap on TV :(
The last thing AMC needed was another Dixie: dead or alive? storyline. Why bring her back just for one year, only to repeat the same thing again? Wake up AMC, your show is sinking and just lost a loyal viewer.
AMC needs to remember that the older characters are so important. Tad and Dixie have been one of the strongest love stories. JR and Tad need her. This is very cruel
I cannot believe the nerve to bring Cady back and then KILL Dixie off. T&D could have been what saved AMC for many viewers and I cannot believe that they would write it so that they finally look like Tad and Dixie have a chance, they find out about Kathy and then she is killed. Its absurd and beyond cruel.
Please don't kill off the character of Dixie she deserves to have a happy ending with tad and he little girl Kate it doesn't make sense for you to kill of f the character now when she and Tad just found Kate.
I think Cady should stay and Bran Frons, Julie Hannah Carruthers and Megan McTavish should leave. To be honest the job they are doing ruining AMC someone should check to see if they are the CBS payroll. If they are trying to send viewers to CBS it's a smashing success. I've gone!
I have watched this show from the first show.I TiVo everyday.You need better stories written.Cady is a wonderful actress, you need better writers.What you did to Brook was shameful. I will not watch any more.We old timers are not dead, but still watching. Tad and Dixie are great together.
This better be a joke? How can they let Cady McClain go? She is the BEST thing to happen to AMC in YEARS!!! Are they crazy? Cady is a great, great star - she says so much with just a look - she never has to over reach, she is subtle, that's why she's won two Emmys - no one else in the cast has her natural gift. Plus she is so heartbreakingly beautiful...well, I was bored in '05, and really bummed in '06 without GreenLee, David and Brooke but this takes the cake - the show is not cool anymore and after 25 years, it's time for me to move on too! Thanks alot AMC! Also, the reason the ratings are not strong for soaps has more to do with TiVo... I don't have it and still tape on my old VCR - so like the show, tapes are obsolete! Sayonara!

do not take cady off of amc... she is one of the best actress on amc... i love dixie... and i swear if dixie goes i stop watching and i will get everyone in my family and all of my friends and everyone i know to stop watching. so you will lose ratings.

I can not believe Cady McClain was fired! After all the build up and hype over her return, for it to end like this is truely a slap in the face. I've patiently waited for a Tad and Dixie reunion and I feel as if I've been cheated. I never thought I'd say this (afer 14 years of watching), but I'll be tuning into DAYS for my supercouple fix.

What a stupid, idiotic, nonsensical decision! To kill off a core character like Dixie makes NO SENSE. I have waited 18 years to see a T/D baby, and just as I was about to get it, TIIC pull the rug right out from under me. They have NO respect, for the actors, nor for the fans. The day Dixie dies will be my last day of watching AMC. They are dead to me now. And I've watched for 30 years.

I am all for them keeping Dixie on AMC. She is one of the best stars they have. She makes the show worth watching and I can't wait for her and Tad to get back together and find their Daughter.
Firing Cady from the show is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Now all that's left is the Babe and Krystal show. How sad is that? Bring Cady back. Can't this be a dream ala Bobby Ewing? Or can't this be fake out for the Satin slayer. Give us something. Just bring Dixie back!
Please don't fire Cady McClain. Many of us have waited years to see Tad and Dixie back together and now we will be cheated out of this. Cady is such a fantastic actress and important to the show because Dixie has ties to the Martins and the Chandlers. Why don't you release the teenagers from their contracts (?) and then you'll have the money to pay Cady.

ABC, I guess yoyu really dod want to kill off your daytime soaps. Why did you bother bringing Cady back to work on the Kate story? If Cady goes, I'm definitely done with AMC. The possibility of Dixie and Tad's reunion, and finding Kate, was the only reason I was watching. I'm DONE!!!
This will be a big mistake killing off Dixie. The show has been bleeding viewers and killing off a popular character with rich history is not the way to go. But you are making it easier for me to stop watching...
I've also been watching for 25 years and the Tad and Dixie story line is always what keeps me watching. Just when Tad and Dixie are getting back together and about to figure out who Kate is they get rid of her. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I need more details!
I have been watching Tad and Dixie since the late 80s. They were the reason I kept watching the show for over a decade, and Cady coming back was why I started watching again last year. Killing Dixie makes it feel like I have wasted a year watching a storyline without getting a pay off. Killing her is wrong, if she stays gone, I'm gone, even though I love MEK.
Unbelievable. I'm not the biggest Dixie fan these days but to say that those two southern hos deserve more screen time than a member of one of the core AMC families...McTavish is nuts. And I am gone (after over 20 years).
This is the final straw!!! I've been a faithful view of AMC for the past 30+ years. To bring Dixie back and then kill her off is the worst that's happened on AMC lately and that's saying a lot. If Dixie goes, so does my Season Pass for AMC on TIVO!!!
I'm a long time viewer (since 1981). The writers are systematically getting rid of the recognizable and fine characters on AMC, (Brooke, Dixie, Janet, Trevor, Dimitri, Edmund, Maria, etc., and by doing so are making us turn away in disgust. Please stop this policy, it's not good business.
