I have been watching AMC from the start and my 2 daughters have taken my interest in the show also. No one has sparked their and my interest than Cady's remarkable performance as Dixie Cooney. Is it because of her blog on ABC stating she would miss Julia deeply and Pine Valley would not be the same. A bunch of BS as it is the veteran actors that keep the show . Now with only Erica, Adam, Jack(Joe, Palmer,opal? and myrtle? rarely)Is ABC and McTavish nuts as she was the one who begged Cady to come back as we all Know she is the 1/2 of super couple Tad and Dixie. I guess McTavish didn't see the DAYs disaster of killing off the vet actors(even after being a dream, still killed their ratings for at least a year as fans felt their loyalty to the show played with.)There is no true love story left on Amc due to backstabbing and hatred, hard to be believed there would be any love left. Get rid of the writers/execs at fault as they are digging the grave of AMC. No more Lavery and Carey hour. Ryan is too in love with himself to love anyone else, Babe is nice but please why is she in every scene? Even matriarch Erica is put to the extreme back burner as just a fill/ background in on someone elses storyline. Shame. What focus group. Teenboppers on myspace. Get real, the real viewers are older than twenty. My daughter doesn't like the immature characters her age, she grew up with Tad and Dixie.And yes the Chemistry is definitely better than any couple there, reason is it is believable. So since Dixie is gone than I suppose Del and Di will have to move on. Shame as killing off the Cooney/ Courtlandt legacy is definitely wrong. And No I don't mean by bringing Bobbie or Petie on to continue, Dixie is in our hearts and many AMC fans are sick with disgust to kill off our beloved Dixie after almost 20 yrs with no resolution, Brooke with no proper goodbye after 30 yrs and Wildwind is bare with only Julia(sad) and almost like when they killed off Gabriell

Television, soaps in particular,traditionally has been a sanctuary for talented actreses whose talents are tossed aside in cinema. ANd nowlook what we have this year: Judi Dench, Helen Mirren both accomplished actresses well beyond their usefullness to the Hollywood studio heads. Shame, shame. McTavish lost it long ago; she has simply gone around the twist as the Brits would say and McClain and unfortunately other actors will have to pay for her egregious mistakes. I will be tuning out , I simply can't be bothered anymore. And the teen set, the Satin slayer needs to go on a rampage with that uninteresting and boring bunch. It's not all about youth and that's coming from someone in his 30's. After 25 years I am tuning out!
How can you fire an actress with the talent of Cady Mcclain? How long did we wait for the return of Dixie?? She is just now starting to develop and take a hold in Pine Valley. Tad and Dixie are a soap super couple. I can't imagine Pine Valley without the hope of them reuniting. I've been watching since 1992, but after Cady leaves, that's it for me. Please, please don't kill Dixie off. It is heartbreaking and I am amazingly grief stricken.

I have been watching the show since 1970 and I am going to stop watching it now. The writers have finally killed all my interest in the show. They have killed off a vital charactor. They are taking the show down a road I don't want to travel. Goodbye AMC!
I started taping All My Children back in 92/93 for my mom (since she had no clue on how to work a VCR). I was 12 at the time and when my mom would come home from work, she would watch AMC. Naturally, I got hooked on the show too. It was around the time that Tad came back from the dead and Dixie was on the run with JR. From that point on, Dixie and Tad have been my favorite characters/couple. I hated the times that Cady left before, but I still managed to watch because of other great characters and stories. This time is different though. For one, Cady was fired without any negotations. I can not believe that an excellent actress that plays such an important role for around 18 years would be treated this way. What for? Because a focus group wants more Babe and Krystal? Are you kidding me? They are on enough and the pairing of Krystal and Tad never took off before so why would it now after we had Dixie back. Also, the character was always mentioned for the 3 years that Cady was gone. How often does an actor/character leave a show yet they are often mentioned onscreen? I assume the same will happen for however many years AMC remains on the air (which is not long with the current TPTB in charge). I have watched AMC off and on for the past couple years, mainly because my life has gotten busy with going through college, working full-time, dating, etc.. However, i added AMC to my TIVO list when Cady returned last year. I was watching everyday to see how great her returned would be handled (especially after suffering through Maureen/Maria's botched return). Surely, TPTB would have learned from their past mistakes, but they proved me wrong. Dixie's return was horrible and out of character. And to top it off, we had no flashbacks of what she went through, maybe the audience might have been able to understand the out-of-character decisions she made in order to stay away from her family IF we saw the pain she went through because of the accid

I even worked as an extra on the show several times in the 80's and remember sitting in the green room with Julia Barr when she was pregnant! What has happened to the writing? How could they fire an amazing actress like Cady and continue to develop story lines for lessor talents. I am taking AMC off my TIVO and moving on. I have better things to do with my time than watch this drivel! Goodbye AMC and say goodbye to this long time fan!

I am 25 years old and have grown up watching All My Children. I can remember watching Tad and Dixie when I was a little girl and I was so excited when Dixie came back. I can't believe that you are killing Dixie off after all Tad has been through. They still haven't even found Kate. If you think killing Dixie off is catering to the younger people in your audience, you are DEAD WRONG! We grew up watching the soaps that our mothers watch. We have grown up watching Dixie. I was shocked to learn that it wasn't Cady's decision to leave. I thought surely you couldn't possibly be that stupid. I can't believe that they've killed Dixie! I was a big fan of "Tad and Dixie" and was looking forward to their next wedding! AMC's recent disposal of great characters like David and Dixie, their introduction of Zarf/Zoe, and their continued reliance upon Babe and Kendall (who are completely obnoxious), has cost them at least one long-time fan.
Dixie is a great character and you brought her back to get us invested in her only to cheat us of the reunite of her tad and kate getting back together.
I started watching AMC again when I found out that Dixie was back. I TiVo the episodes and only watch the Tad&Dixie scenes because their love story has always been my favorite love story in Daytime Television. We didn't get enough wonderful moments between these two characters. I missed the fun, flirty, romantic moments they shared that made their story a legacy. And to have her die by peanut butter pancakes is the dumbest thing ever.She could have at least died in some heroic way where she sacrifices her life to save a loved one. To be so close to being reunited with her daughter and Tad and then have it taken it away so unexpectedly is the cruelest thing to do to diehard T&D fans. I will never watch this show again. There is no reason to anymore. Together,forever must mean 18 years to ABC.
I cant believe you are getting rid of Dixie. I stopped watching when she left and started watching again when she came back. I couldnt wait to see her and Tad and Kate. That is ridiculous to bring in Kate and have Dixie gone. Horrible, just horrible.
I agree with many of the long time viewers of AMC. This is the final straw. My favorite couple has always been Tad and Dixie. I cannot believe that you have killed her off before she and Tad get to celebrate the wonderful news that Kathy is their daughter. This story line could have given you many controversies which is the heart of a soap opera. I have been watching AMC for 30 plus years and will now have something else to do at 1pm. This whole story line is stupid and killing off Dixie is the most stupid move of all.

Pine Valley needs Dixie! Don't punish us, the loyal fans, because the storyline wasn't written currently! Its not Dixie's or Cady's fault. It was just starting to pick up and get good again. Is it really a bad thing to have a little bit of happiness on a show?

To kill off Dixie now, when she is so close to regaining Kate, is an insult to fans and Cady McClain. For me, goodbye to Dixie means goodbye to AMC after 35 years. You should kill Di, Sydney or Danielle, not Dixie!
Why? I can find no feasible reason to kill off a character who is as synonymous with All My Children as Erica. Tad and Dixie are a treasure. I have watch since Erica, Phillip, Tara and Chuck were a teen agers, actually the very first day, and I have always supported the show. I have seen Tad and Dixie's love grow and tested but always it stands firm in the end. I cry each Christmas when they wish on the Christmas star. I was devastated when Tad fell from the bridge during a fight with Billy Clyde and when a pregnant Dixie ran off the bridge and cheered and cried when they made it back to each other. They are a stable give viewers the possibility of happily ever after is possible. Please don't let Dixie be taken from Tad and her children. All My Children has always known what is good for the viewers. Listen to the fans who want Dixie to have the chance to live happily ever after. If she is written off I for one will never watch All My Children again.

I hate what you are doing and will no longer watch the show!!! I have been a loyal fan for years but this is absolutely the last straw!!! For all I know, you'll be firing Tad next!!! I think it's totally screwed that Ryan gets to find out that he has a daughter who 's living right under his roof while Dixie has been searching for her daughter for 4 years and she gets killed off!! In my book, Dixie and Tad, "together forever have always been the heart of the show!!! Their love has prevailed though all the hardships and struggles one could face. Writing her out and wrecking the beautiful lovestory of Tad and Dixie is the biggest screw-up yet and will definitley not help the ratings!!! In fact, you need to bring Brooke and David back as well...they could have been paired as a couple. Nobody is interested in all these obnoxious, whining teenyboppers on the show! I use to watch AMC a long time ago and just started watching again when Dixie returned. Needless to say, if Dixie is gone so am I as a viewer of AMC. I will no longer wathch the show after this week! Cady was a true breath of fresh air to an audience who had last taken closeness to Nina,needing a new character to like and cheer on in all the soap opera hardships. and still no character has captured our hearts since.
No writer could bring Dixie to life, it was Cady that did that.She is likeable and someone the audience can relate to. No one is move beloved on AMC.
