I can't imagine what made the writers decide to kill off Dixie. This one stupid decision has wrecked so many story lines. There won't be a reconcilliation of Tad, Dixie and Kate. JR is going to turn back into a mad man without the love of his mom. And the little priest who arrives each Christmas to grant a miracle to a citizen of Pine Valley - oh well, guess he failed for Christmas 2006. No happy endings here.
What could have possessed the writers to do this? It's ridiculous. I won't be watching All My Children anymore and that's saying something because I've watched it from the beginning (over 30 years).
Maybe the writers and the PTB should take a cue from the show Dallas - make this all a bad dream of Tad's and bring Dixie back.
I have been a long All My Children watcher, since college. I was very happy when Dixie came back to the show. I didn't think you gave much justice to her and Tad. I am so disappointed Dixie is dead. Where Tad can go from here, who knows. I just know that I can't watch it anymore, get some good writers already.

Well, at least I don't have to worry about finding time watch AMC now. You see I grew up watching ABC soaps but stopped watching while in college. I only started watching AMC again last year after seeing a commercial that Dixie (the real one - Cady) was coming back.
It has been a difficult year, trying to watch and work. You see I work during the daytime and would tape the show and watch when I could - often fast forwarding through the boring stuff. Maybe I'll watch the Friday and Monday episodes, I have not decided.
So, now I can go back to my regular schedule and not worry about AMC. What a bunch of idiots. They have again lost one of those coveted viewers - under 35, female, college graduate, works full time.
Keep Cady. She has been a mainstay and a reason to tune into AMC all these years. There has always been something about Cady's character, Dixie, that you can relate with. Let Dixie find out about Kathy (Kate). Cady don't go !!!!!
I cried my eyes out today. How can the writers do this to the dedicated fans that have longed for a Tad and Dixie reunion? It's so unfair as well as stupid! Why can't they do something to save this character? They kept Danielle alive and she is basically a non-entity character. So why would they kill of one of daytime tv's most beloved heroines? I was a 30+ year viewer. First Edmond, then Brooke, now Dixie are all gone. You should of gotten rid of Babe and her annoying mother, Krystal instead. The writing has been horrendous, changing character traits and STUPID storylines the last couple of years, the ONLY reason I have been watching the last year is the hope that Tad and Dixie would be reunited with their daughter. Everyone I know who used to watch the show, I was the only one holding on. You BLEW IT WRITERS, this is the last straw, this over 30 year viewer is gone!!

I agree with what everyone is saying. It is terrible that the writers have killed off Dixie. I am also a fan of this show for 25 years and I have never seen such poor writing. It's pathetic. We're subjected to the likes of Babe, Zarf etc. and all of the talented actors are either leaving or, in this case, being killed off. Give us what we want -- give us back Dixie!

I have watched all my children since day one, I can only hope this petition will help to bring Cady back, maybe the writers have other directions for the story, but the only original happy cast members were Joe and Ruth Martin, and this story line is still needed in today's soap. Keeping at least one couple sound on a soup will give views something to aim their marriages at. Making the story line adapatable for the younger views is fine, but you have and obligation to the viewers who have been with you since the begings. (remembering Tara Martin and Phil Brent love affair, also Nina Courtland, and Cliff's love affair, and lavish wedding, All My Children needs a couple that can stay together when the world falls apart, that was Tad and Dixie, they are new generation of Joe and Ruth. They need to bring Dixie back.
Cady McClain brought me back to AMC last February. I stopped watching it shortly after her departure several years ago. I will stop watching yet again if Cady is truly done from AMC again.

I've been watching AMC from the beginning! And I don't understand why they keep writing off the old favorite characters. I love Dixie, and Cady is the best! I think that the show would have retained more viewers had they kept the romance ALIVE between Tad and Dixie. :-(
I'm now done with AMC for good. I loved when they brought Dixie back and was so excited with the possibility that she'd soon be reunited with Kate. Now we'll never see it. This show is just terrible.

Who cares about Josh or Babe or JR or even Julia? The Tad & Dixie and their missing child was the only interesting thing going on. You guys have got to do better. Dixie was the only reason I started watching AMC again. Tad & Dixie was the reason I was hooked back when they first met. When Dixie left, I lost interest and stopped watching. Please keep Dixie on the show. Daytime TV needs one of its greatest couples back together. Putting Dixie and Tad back together will attract disenchanted fans back to the show. Killing her off can only turn more fans off. The best way to end this dead-end Greg Madden/baby switching storyline is to put Tad 7 Dixie together again! Next to Erika Kane, Tad/Dixie are the best attraction on AMC.

Same as most of the comments. I am 50 years old and the only reason I started watching AMC was because Dixie was back on. I will NO LONGER watch. What else is better than the love story of Tad and Dixie. (except Luke and Laura) We love Dixie and you are making a mistake.
