This is really pathetic, but I think we can see a B****cat fight when we see it. Lets recap, Cady took up for Julia Barr when she got so unceremoniously fired. In fact she was the only one. Cady just found out three weeks ago she was going to die. Ms. McTavish obviously works like President Bush. My way or the highway. I had quit watching after 30+ years because the story lines had gotten so bad. I started watching again after Dixie came back, hoping that Tad and Dixie would get back together. I think ABC and Disney need to replace TPTB and keep the actors!! There is something wrong with writers who cannot bring a decent storyline to the fans, and there is something wrong with producers and directors who do not care about the fans nor the actors! Perhaps I will not only stop watching AMC, but will stop supporting the advertisers as well.

I expect that in a few years daytime soaps will be replaced with reality television. It's what TPTB deserve after this blatant display of disrespect to the fans. I've watched for over 30 years. It was the only soap that I did watch after Ryan's Hope was cancelled. {Sigh} I suppose all good things come to an end.
I realize that the writers of this show don't really have a grasp on retaining the history of the show, but to keep the characters of Babe and Krystal over Dixie and Brooke is so sad. It just does to show that it doesn't matter what the fans want in television. ABC is notorious for ruining good programming.

I can't believe ABC is killing off Dixie. I am very upset with the move. What are the writers of All My Children thinking? Tad and Dixie's story has always been one of the best things about the show. I have watched the show since 1980 but am considering giving up on it after all these years. The plots are awful and there is no continuity. The show has gone from being one of the best on daytime to becoming a joke. What's with the Bianca/Zarf/Zoe thing? Totally unbelievable.
My heart broke when I saw dixie take her last breathe yesterday. I have been watching AMC since I was 8 yrs old. I have also know that when Dixie left it was only a matter of time before she was to return. I'm know 30 and I finally thought my favorite on screen couple was going to get some well desired peace in their lives, instead they were dismissed by their higher powers and taken from the hearts of their fans.

AMC has become the most depressing story in daytime and the firing of Cady and Julia just put the icing on the cake. I can guarantee I won't be watching during sweep months and will be checking out the Young and Restless where it appears they respect their veterans and their fans.

All My Children. I have watched this show for twenty five years...no more. First we lost Brook and now Dixie. These new characters just don't cut it with me. you are killing your own show! This is ridiculous! To take off almost all of the characters over 35 really shows a huge disrepect to all of the longtime of viewers of AMC. Do you really think everyone only wants to watch young people, many newbies who we don't care about? We want to watch families and friends of all ages interact, including "older" favorites we have truly grown to love. We don't want to watch a bunch of young pretty people who we couldn't care less about. They aren't the people that keep us coming back to our show year after year, just waiting to see what will happen next. It is the people we have come to love as we became involved in their lives/stories that draw us in. They make us feel comfortable and at home like we are with old friends/family. The show and the characters become a part of your life over the years of watching, you remember and relate storylines to your own life at different times. That's what soaps are supposed to do, not alienate us on a silly whim or decide only the younger viewers are valuable fans who count. Even younger viewers know the value of longtime, veteran, well loved characters on a show. Without them, where is the history of the show? That helps make a show great when you can trace the history of the show and characters back over the years. They might as well be a night time drama, there is not much history there. With the new show they seem to be pushing, Who cares anymore? What a mistake, I hope AMC pays with large losses in viewership.

I am a third generation AMC fan and my 13 year old loves it too. We love to watch Tad/Dixie together. WE love to watch them wish on their star and see the events that make their wish come true. They have children, brothers, sisters, parents, aunts, uncles, grand children still on the show and you would honestly seperate these two people and the love they share. They help you realize the world isn't completly a bad place that true love does find it's way back home. Not to many of us will ever have love like that but love seeing others share their happiness. Please don't end my families tradition of AMC for my family yet to come or my daughter who is a 4th generation fan of the same Tad/Dixie romance the rest of us love to watch.
I really enjoy Dixie. I used to watch the sho many years ago and on two occassions I stopped watching the show as the wonderful actors and being wriiten off. It kills the moral of the show. It seems that all the reliable caracters that have been on the show for years are old news to the writters and they keep getting younger and younger. What I don't understand is all the younger actors. From allthe blogs, it seems the viewers are more interested in the veteran actors on the show. You seem to cast all the episodes on just a select fiew actors verses in the past when all the actors on the show were casted all the tme and their lives merged. I really enjoyed when the show was more well rounded and believable. Now is seems like cheap fiction. I would urge you to reconsider letting Dixie off the show. She is actually a very valuable asset to the show. I started watching the show again, primarily because she was returning to the show. Its a shame what the writters and execs are doing to a very much loved actress and show.
I tuned in in 1976 and am officially tuning out tomorrow when Cady McClain's scenes are done. Thelack of respect for longtime fans is appalling. For management to bring the character back and kill her off in less than a year's time for another stupid serial killer story is insane. While I should be thanking them for giving yet another hour of my day back to spend on fruitful ventures, my true thanks go to the longtime vets of the show (DC, TK, CM, JB, VI, SL, to name a few) who had made my day just a little nicer. You will be missed. Goodbye AMC.
I have to say killing Dixie is equal to putting Laura Spencer in a catatonic state, in other words this is the worst thing a soap has ever done. Dixie and Tad were just getting back to a healthy place and their little girl is right in front of them and you kill her off.....it makes absolutely no sense, if an innocent had to die you have many other useless characters that could go, heck take Colby she is annoying as heck. You soap writers do not know how to write a good storyline anymore, you can't be creative without ending a good relationship five minutes after it has begun. If there is any redemption AMC will bring Cady back, although I wouldn't be surprised if she refused since they treated her so badly and for the way they sent Julia Barr packing with absolutely no respect for the wonderful job she was doing. AMC keep up the bad work and you will no longer have viewers to tick off.
Maybe we should e-mail the companies that have commercials during AMC. How would they feel being dumped by long time clients. If viewers don't watch, their advertising dollars go down. I have a feeling AMC ratings are going way down.
Another reason why AMC continues to sprial down the drain. What they really need to do is get rid of the current group of writers and replace them with ones that respect AMC's history and tell stories that have a real sense of humanity instead of the same story lines over and over again.
Dixie is without a doubt one of THE BEST characters in soap opera history. How could you possibly kill off Dixie without resolving the Kate plot?! I have been watching AMC since I was born (literally, thanks Mom) and I have always loved Tad and Dixie. Shame on you AMC for firing an amazing actress just because she spoke out against a great injustice. You are losing so many loyal fans who KNOW Tad and Dixie belong together and deserve to find Kate. I am a 3rd generation AMC fan, my grandmother still watches the show and even tapes it while she takes her 2-3pm nap so she can watch it later... My mother and I have been TiVo'ing any episodes we can't see due to work... and for the whole 22 years of my life I have been a HUGE fan, I watch other soaps but AMC was always the most down to earth & "normal" soap running... SO WHY KILL OFF DIXIE!! She is the rock of the whole soap, if you wanted to kill off a big star kill off Erica, her story lines have sucked for the past few years... Dixie JUST got back and I have been waiting for her return since she left, I even started watching the other soap she was on just to wait for them to kill her off & come back to AMC... you people are ridiculously idiotic... I could maybe see if you honestly didn't have any type of storyline for her but ummmmm... how about Tad, they just reconciled, and Kathy/Kate! God you could have at least given Cady the respect of finishing her storyline... I haven’t yet decided if I'm giving up on AMC but if this stupid radical behavior doesn't soon end my long term viewing will!!!

I am very disappointed that you killed off Cady. I have been a fan of AMC for 25+ years and I was so excited when Dixie came back. Her storyline was awful until just recently, but that is not the actresses fault, that is your writers. There was so much they could have done with Tad and Dixie and the reunion of their daughter. You wasted our time watching the story develop only to leave it unfinished. It is really a shame you didn't fire the writers instead of Cady. Your show has become unwatchable and I am done watching!

I can remember the first AMC episode I watched. Erica and Jeff were arguing over a dress she bought that was too expensive. Now the show that I have watched for over 30 years has turned into garbage. Thank you AMC for "killing off" a fan. Y&R here I come!
You can't even be serious about considering firing Cady! Dixie and Tad reuniting, finding their baby, and Dixie telling Tad about his baby with Crystal, these are all some of the really good parts of the latest plots on AMC! She is an excellent actress (not to mention gorgeous). Killing off the pointless Fusion women (Erin, Simone, Dani, etc.) was a good move but killing off Dixie is not! There is no logical reason at all for doing it. I have been watching for the better part of the last 25 years. (guess I'm getting old!)
