I am in my mid 30s been wtahcing since childhood, on and off. When I saw Janet from another planets was on I tuned back in until they killed her and Dixie. I was really looking for the Tad and Dixie re-union. None of the newer characters or storylines are as strong. Good bye AMC!
I ONLY started watching AMC again because Dixie returned - how could you kill such a beloved character off ESPECIALLY when she and Tad were finally reuniting!! A very poor choice. The other storylines don't even come close to the deep connection, love and history of these two charcters. Please find a way to bring her back - (in a Days of Our Lives kind of way.....)
I have watched AMC since the very first episode and never once have I consider not watching until today. I am a big, big fan of Tan & Dixie. The other times she left the show I didn't worry so much because I knew it was just a matter of time before she would return and she and Tad would be back together before long, because that is the natural order of things. I don't think you are aware of what a awful thing you have done here. The other vet missing in action were not so final, so why Dixie. I can't begin to explain how this is upsetting me as a fan. How could killing off Dixie be considered for "creative reason"? As a follower of AMC for the 20 plus years, I waited anxiously like many to see Tad and Dixie reunite and now she's just gone. I've actually considered not watching any more due to this error in judgement.

I cannot express how truly upset this has made me. What kept me coming back to AMC was Tad and Dixie and their interactions. Without that, I have no reason to watch.

I can remember AMC back to the 70s,when my family came to this country and my mother watched, she always wached - I always watched - now I had to write. I am so terribly upset that in 25 years I am taking this opportunity to write and say bring Dixie back - my 3 kids know all the characters and were waiting for Tad and Dixie to find Kate together!!! AMC fans are loyal, but you betrayed us. Things change and fans can accept so much but to kill Dixie was too much, you have truly dissappointed this loyal fan.

I've been a loyal fan since 1981. Have you lost your minds? The love between Tad & Dixie is one of the few constants on AMC. Everyone else is either cheating, plotting, killing, divorcing or changing partners,their gender or whatever. All the interesting, bright and mature actors are gone...Maria, Dimitri (even with his personal problems, he was interesting and exotic)& now David is missing. The final straw is you killed off Dixie! I was patiently waiting for Tad & Dixie to reunite and find Kate. Now you've blown that. There is nothing left for me to watch except for a lot of young inexperienced actors. I am so sick of Ryan's muscles, Kendall's shallowness and the trailer trash in the Chandler family. If you think I'm going to buy Tad and Julia Santos...forget it! That's a mismatch if ever there was one. She's too young for him and I can't get past her scenes with her un-hip husband. Boy, was that bad acting! The class is gone. The maturity is gone and now...you know what?....I'M GONE TOO. I bet you finish dead last in the polls and you deserve it. I am totally disguted with all my children. How can they bring a beloved character like Dixie and than kill her off it makes no sense. Now that you've killed her, you've lost me as a fan forever. These young ones you have on the show won't be there forever, they're young, they'll want to move on to bigger and better things and then guess what you'll be left with nothing...maybe that's what you want, fans so upset that you take this show off the air and replace it with a stupid reality show.

Cady has so much talent and her character is loved by millions. How can you do this? There are other people you could have let go instead. This is a very Sad day in AMC's history. Losing such a fine actress as Cady is a huge loss for AMC,right on the heels of losing Julia Barr & other Vets. I have been watching since the 70's,I started in highschool.What made AMC so different than most the other soaps thru the years was it's rich, warm,family stories with Family members of all ages being a part of the stories.They had all ages babies all the way to great Grandparents!Just having all these new & young characters with no older relatives makes no sense at all. It's not being true to what Agnes Nixon wrote :you are "ALL MY CHILDREN" she didn't mean just young characters. She maent the whole family.The writers are so out of touch to think that this is what we the fans want. Couldn't be more wrong...save Dixie/Cady, let her reuntite with her family,for Tad & Kate and everyone else. After over 30 years I won't be watching either if this storyline isn't changed.The Fans & actors desrve better than this!
I was shocked to hear that Dixie was being killed off . I was hoping it wasn't true and she would survive the poisoning. So, I cried along with the other fans watching the 1-30-07 episode of AMC. For what seemed like forever, we waited for Dixie's return. ABC really promoted that. Then we watched as her storyline never developed and thought for a moment last December that a really good storyline with Dixie, Tad and Kate would unfold. At least that is what we were led to believe. Never happened. Instead all we got was sadness and alot of madness. Soap sweeps? this show is a loser in that race. And, the ratings will prove that. AMC could have been on top with a Dixie, Tad and Kate storyline. Dixie and Tad are and were the heart of the show. We all wanted them to be reunited and be a family again. ABC and AMC do right by your fans and bring Dixie back!, before your ratings plummet and the show ends.

I felt so shocked when Dixie flatlined on Monday's show, but didn't worry too much cause I knew she'd come back on Tuesday's show, and everything would be ok. Then, with tears pouring down my cheaks on Tuesday's show, I felt as if I were being completely mocked for the 15+ years that I've watched this show solely to see Tad and Dixie together. I love so much about AMC, but Tad and Dixie were was the first thing that hooked me on this show, and it truly sickens me to think that I'll never get the payoff after all the time invested.
It is ridiculous that the writers killed off Dixie. They never even developed a good story line for her since she came back. We have all been waiting this entire time for her and Tad to be reunited with Kate and now that is never going to happen. I am only 28 yrs old and I have been watching since I was 13 years old when I was on summer breaks from school. If it is true that the writers think that getting rid of the older characters will help them appeal to a younger demographic they must be out of their minds. Summers have always been the only time soaps cater to the younger crowd and this has been going on for ever. Everybody knows that women usually get hooked on soaps while they are on maternity leave and they continue watching on their lunch breaks or as a stay at home mom. Mothers introduce soaps to their children, just like my mother did. I must say that this last year has been terrible especially the awful story line between Erica and Jack. Killing off Dixie just tops everything off, I don't know if I want to watch anymore, and listen to this all of you writers and executives, this is coming from somebody who is young and in the demographic that you are supposedly trying to appeal to, you need to fix this because you are going to lose a lot of viewers and then you will all be out of a job.

I have been a loyal AMC viewer for almost 23 years and I am now 30 years old. Today was the last straw in what seems like an assault on AMC. If your goal is to clean out loyal viewers in order for newer, more fickle viewers; then you've done an amazing job. I'm crushed not because I'm a fanatic fan with nothing else to do, but my mom and I bonded over this show for many years. Now, we are both DONE, and so goes something we both loved.
I think AMC needs a overhaul......fo new writers! What the current ones have been coming up with is tripe! It is a slap in the face not only to Cady but the fans to bring her back just to mourn her death again. I grew up watching AMC. Dixie and Tad were my favorites. I watched with much sadness today as DIxie died.....what the writers have done is just PLAIN mean to the viewers. We watched over the Christmas holidays as Father Clarence brought new hope of finding Kate. Dixie, Tad and Kate would eventually be reunited! JOY! But after the new year, one by one the story never developed...then you kill off our beloved Dixie. That is the worst you could have done to a show that is already slipping in the ratings. Now watch those ratings slip away even more. AMC has just lost another loyal fan of the show. Take a hiatus, get NEW WRITERS, and bring Dixie back!
I have been watching AMC off and on since it first aired. Nothing was more thrilling than to watch Tad and Dixie. They made the show. Their love and faith in each other, at times against all odds, was so refreshing and amazing. We watched as Dixie was finally pregnant with Tad's child just to be heartbroken when Dixie was presumed dead in a car accident in Europe. David Hayward knew that she wasn't dead! But, the fans waited and waited until one day Dixie came back. All our hopes were renewed. Then the sucky story lines began. When were Dixie and Tad going to get back together and find their little girl? Just before Dixie dies? How lame is this? How lame is it to watch the 'spirit' Dixie watching Tad and Kathy bond...father and daughter....but she cannot touch, feel or hold her little girl? AMC has gone down hill and I don't think it will ever recover unless you bring Dixie back and soon! I agree with #2934 it had better be a drug induced dream. One rumor has it that AMC wants to spice up the show with younger actors and steamier scenes.......it cheapens the show and takes away from what the soap was all about. Old rivals coming back? Who cares? Dixie and Tad were the heart of the show and without them AMC is nothing but another Passions. I have been watching AMC for 37 years. My favorite couple has always been Tad and Dixie,when Di showed up a few years ago to be Dixie it was exciting but when DI went to Dixie to tell her of her men,I knew Dixie would come home. To have her killed when everyone had finally come to a peaceful resolution for her being gone for 4 years and to finally having Kate within their grasps was mean and a total waste of the last year. I stopped watching Amc in 2001 because it was boring but when well developed and beloved characters are killed of or fade away without explanation means that TPTB don't understand why this show has been on th e air for 37 years. Look over at Days of Our Lives,people want to watch well developed charecters. Do people think that the audience that buys from the sponsers,really care about Colby/Sean/Sidney??? Wake up.

I am done with AMC, Dixie was the last hope the show had to keeping a decent storyline. You have outraged thousands and will lose many more viewers than that! They should change the title to TMC... Too many children who can't act!
Bring Dixie and all the others, Brooke, David, Erin, Simone Back!
Make it a dream sequence, where the show either opens or closes with all the characters that have been killed off, awake one morning, or at least let Josh or one of the doctors find a heart beat in Dixie.

Please undo this. Please make it all a dream like in Dallas. You are allienating your most loyal fan base in search of a younger, immature fan base who doesn't care much for soaps. They're into the reality shows. Let them be. We, on the other hand are loyal. Don't disappoint us!
I have watched All my Children for several years. Tad and Dixie are the most memorable couple in all of soaps. They show everyone what true love is all about. They give you hope, make you smile, make you think, and above all, show you that you can conquer anything through understanding and love. Not to mention the fact that Dixie leaves an impression that has always positively influeced viewers to believe in her character. If Dixie is gone for good than so am I. I can't explain just how upset I am at the moment due to the recent bs occurence. AMC writers, get your head out of your as*es!
Please let Dixie stay on AMC. She will be sorely missed. It's too bad that she's only been back for a year and Tad and Dixie are *finally* getting back together only to have Dixie die. Come on!! Throw us a bone. I was crying watching her die. The flashbacks were wonderful, but keep Dixie alive. Every time I watched the show since she came back I've been so grateful to see her, and now she's going to be gone. It's a very sad day on AMC. Very disappointing.
You can add 7 more viewers who have gotten together and agreed we are all done with this soap opera. We have a small AMC community group and many days we get together to watch. Most of us are in our 60's and have watched since the very first day. We have been appauled by the writing in the last few years, the only highlight that made us stay was Dixie, Tad and Kate.
We are going to re-organize our group and choose a better soap opera.
To rid the show of someone as beloved as Dixie was a big mistake and I think ABC will see this in the ratings. So everyone, get your friends together and do something, don't give them the satisfaction of watching anymore, they WILL know.
Today the very heart and soul of "All My Children" died along with "Dixie". Ironically it was "Brooke" who once said "There is no Tad without Dixie" If you have any kind of hearts at all you will right this horrible wrong.
Bring Dixie back. I was a loyal viewer since the first show and I will not watch anymore if you do not bring her back. Make it a nightmare but bring her back.
The show has lost so many long and loyal fans. The show is now unbearable to watch. All the changes that have occured the last year have made the show miserable. Getting rid of Cady was the icing on the cake. I will never watch AMC again - ever.
I was involved with ONE LIFE TO LIVE in the 80's, and since I retired have watch ALL MY CHILDREN religiously. If I were on the AMC team, I would protest in the strongest way to what they have done here.
I hope you people all realize that this was a BIG insult to you as viewers, and I hope you join in, and tell all of your friends, to stop watching. Let the ratings decrease even more, as that is what ABC deserves after this travesty!
ENOUGH. I have watched for 2 years terrible...unrealistic and very fake storylines, but today when Dixie died, I said to myself this is the final episode I will ever watch, and I mean it. DISGUSTING ABC....your new characters (like the one who won the contest to be on the show) are NOTHINGS...You have made Kendall into a total witch, and now you want us to believe that Bionica will possibly go back to a woman who hurt her so? And if BABE wants JR so bad, she would NEVER allow Josh around her every single minute.I will find another soap to devote my time too, that doesn't insult it's educated viewers the way you have been doing.
This is totally unfair to bring Dixie back just to kill her off. That is so wrong. I ahve been waiting for her and Tad to find their daughter Kate. As soon as I saw the little girl on the show I knew she would be the daughter they were looking for. I have been watching this show my whole life My mom watches this show and my grandmother watched it. My grandmother was on her death bed and we sat there together and watched wheneve I got the chance to visit her. The show was going down hill until you brought Cady back. and no no one else would do as a fill in for her Cady is Dixie. If I am gone during the day I tape the show just to watch it.
This is totally ridiculous. To bring Dixie back from the dead and to finally get Cady back, only to fire her a year later? What was the point of all of this? The way they did this was a complete slap in the face to everyone who has invested time and energy into Dixie, Tad and the show.
They cite bidget cuts as the reason, but they target an actress and character with such a rich history and following. There are about 15 other characters who could go and it wouldn't matter, but they choose Dixie and Cady, after getting rid of Jill Larson, Vincent I and JULIA BARR just last year. Absolutely ridiculous. This, along with Julia Barr's firing, have made me stop watching after over 15 years.
Those writers who did this to all of us need to be fired. Let's quit watching this soap-that has turned so bad and unrealistic over the past 2 years that it is just disgusting. Then to take away Dixie, the final straw. My viewing of this soap after 14 years is over, no more, ABC....I've had it.

I remember my mother watching from day one, and until today, myself and her stilled watch each day.
But after today with Dixie, and before her, Brooke, David, Simone, Erin, and whoever else may be on the hit list, I think we are just about finish watching.
It is nothing now but stupid, stupid story lines, and kids.
Who is left From the earlier days? Adam Chandler and Joe Martin,that is about it.
Today when Dixie was watching Junior at his Christmas play, That was AMC when it was at it's finest.
AMC, go back those days, and bring back all these characters, you recently bump off,
wether it all turns out to be a dream, that they all woke one day having this same type of dream or whatever, but do something to save AMC!
I am 60 years old and have watch AMC since the first episode, faithfully. I never miss an episode and have alot of my favorites taped. But today was my last episode, as I say goodbye to Dixie, and Tad, I also say goodbye to ABC and All My Children. I am through and very angry.
It's a real shame what you have done to loyal fans. Tad and Dixie have always been your BEST story line - now there is just no reason to continue watching AMC.
They have lost their minds! AMC need to stop all that sexual orintation junk and get back to the meat of the soap! Traditional relationships like the Tad & Dixie love story. NOT Babe/JR or Zoe/Bianca/Maggie! Something more believable PLEASE!
I makes me sick that Dixie's purpose for her return was to find her child. She didn't get to do that and who ever made the decision to fire Cady, should be fired!
