How horrible to loyal fans to have Dixie killed off! Why get our hopes us for a Tad/Dixie/Kate reunion and then shatter them with the killing of Dixie. NOWHERE have I seen that people want more of Babe/Krystal. And, also, now you want us to experience JR and Tad grieving AGAIN -- what is wrong with you!!
Firing Dixie is ridiculous! And for the record, if AMC thinks this is going to have great "shock" value - they are 100% WRONG! They have already played out the whole "Dixie's dead" thing the 1st time she was presumed dead. We have already seen Tad & Jr mourn her - this is NOTHING NEW!!! So they are going to give JR yet a new way to hate Babe because his mother ate something intended for her? Whatever. Love Dixie or hate her but she is an integral part of the show. Just another veteran up in smoke! Time to quit watching, there is not much left!

Cady McClain is one of the best actresses in daytime. Her character, Dixie Martin, is one of the core members of the show. Dixie is also one half of their popular super couple "Tad and Dixie". Please reconsider your decision.
Who's going to be canned next? The show is almost unwatchable now with all those inconsequential new characters. As a longtime viewer (from the beginning of AMC) I am more than disgusted that all the great actors/actresses are being shoved out of the door in favor of the young insepid new characters!!!!!
I hope you know that by doing this, you are saying it is okay to cancel AMC. To fire an excellent actress who has a load of history instead of the new people is quite a moronic decision.

I don't believe that focus group line for a second. Babe is already thrust into every storyline on the show, and one message board after another routinely complains about the Babe and Krystal Show. Killing Dixie so abruptly just as she's starting to come back from the disaster that was her return is unjustifiable, particularly after the cavalier way Julia Barr was treated. Really, is McTavish blackmailing someone at the top, or what?

This show has lost its sense of family and romance, Tad and Dixie were slowly bring that back to the show. Cady McClain is Dixie, and to kill her off, because she paid very warm tribute to Julia Barr show how low this show and network has gone. Keep Dixie/Cady and reunite Tad and Dixie with their daughter. The Babe and Krystal hour is what's bringing this show down. When Cady leaves Days of Our Lives will have a new fan at 1:00pm.
I just recently started watching amc in 2005. When I saw that dixie was coming back to amc i was very excited to see her back on the show after seeing old shows of her and hearing what a beautiful character/person she is. I think its the wrong thing to do. Why not kill off characters like sydney who you never see, or sean, colby, lilly, julia, whomever. Dixie is a staple of amc and the storyline with her and tad and finally finding kate will be huge to the viewers especially for the tad and dixie fans. I am very disappointed and i think the head writers are destroying this show. It has no storylines except for zarf, what the heck??? I will not watch this show anymore if this happens with dixie. I am just lost for words. I am extremely upset.

She's arguably the most popular heroine of AMC in the last 20 years. It's outrageous to get rid of Dixie by killing hher off. Please, please, reconsider this irrational idea. We've been promised a Tad & Dixie reunion and a reunion with their daughter Kate and a huge storyline. This 28 year viewer of AMC, which with OLTL are my 1st 2 soaps, will stop watching AMC for good if Cady McClain is indeed fired and Dixie is killed off. I beg that even though it's already been filmed, to reverse this terribly wrong move and grant Dixie a return from the dead a 2nd time and grant Ms. McClain a contract she so richly deserves. I think the execs at AMC must be sitting in their Manhattan offices smoking crack. I have been a DIE HARD All My Children fan since 1972 and will stop watching it if Dixie is killed off again. I stopped watching it almost a year last time they "killed" her off. This time, I won't come back. I guess the prediction made in 2003 that daytime TV as we know it will be gone within 5 years because I cannot see the network continually re-upping a show that is losing viewers at a phenomenal rate because of Megan McTrashish and her staff's extremely poor story writing skills. I have waited far FAR too long for a Tad & Dixie reunion. Kill Dixie, and I'm gone from the fan base for good.
I can not believe that Brian Frons and the rest of the powers that be at All My Children brought Cady back to her home on AMC just to turn around a year later and not only fire her but kill the character that she has been playing for a large part of her life. It is pretty sad when the newbies are treated better than the vets on a show. They made a huge mistake by firing Cady and the way they treated her and us Tad and Dixie fans is so wrong. I do not even recognize AMC anymore and their ratings will continue to fall. After Cady's final scenes I will be closing the door on AMC forever! They have totally stabbed us longtime Tad and Dixie fans right in the heart and Cady did not deserve to be treated like this at all. She is the best and the chemistry that her and Michael E. Knight have will never be matched by anyone! I will follow Cady with whatever she decides to do in the future as for AMC so much for "Together Forever!"
