One of the reasons I became indterested again in AMC was because of Dixie's return...I was so excited to see her reunion with Tad and Kate! Who made this terrible decision and WHY? There's nothing to look forward to now.
I've been needing a reason to cut back on my soap watching. This is the best reason yet! I cannot fathom that AMC has made such a poor judgement call! I love the Zoe s/l, but having Cady leave is enough to quit watching!!!

I have been watching this soap since I in high school...1977!!!! I have always enjoyed Michael E. Knight and the addition of Cady McClain was brilliant! This softened Tad the Cad and made all of us fall for him all over again. Please don't send Cady away.
I still can't believe it! I have been watching All My Children for 33 years and have seen all the Tad and Dixie reunions. I, too, am so disappointed that Dixie/Cady returned to Pine Valley only to get killed off the show. It was great when Dixie returned and I was looking forward to the reunion with Tad and their daughter Kate. This was one of my all-time favorite storylines and I will really miss Tad and Dixie. Please bring her back!
I'm a watcher since the beginning. Cady/Dixie has been a big part of AMC storyline. I don't like the Dixie that came back from the dead the first time. but the character deserves to stick around to see a positive outcome with Tad and their beautiful daughter Kate. Also, Cady is an awesome actor and TPTB are doing a great disservice to AMC's history and its life-time fans by blowing off seasoned characters such as Dixie, David, Brooke, Opal, Livia, etc., etc., etc. What were you thinking, and what is your hidden agenda?

I was about to quit watching when Dixie returned so I continued to suffer through the insane story lines you've dished out with all the youngsters. It seems all the seasoned actors are being abandoned or receiving minimal screen time. BRING DIXIE BACK!!! You owe your loyal viewers no less!

Guess we really shouldn't be that surprised. The writers on this show have been absolutely horrendous for the last few years now. They have either grossly underutilized or written out all the best characters, portrayed by the best actors in the cast. Think it's finally time to pack in watching this losing show.
The saddest day on AMC was 1-31-07. Dixie's "sudden" death symbolizes the loss and total disappointment of AMC's most faithful viewers. I feel that it and Brooke's disappearance will be a detriment to all characters. If you can rock the foundation of the show so easily, what can possibly be going through the minds of the remaining staff? I saw this happen once before in a completely different line of work. The next occurence was the firing at the top of the ladder. PLEASE change the storyline. It is not too late. PLEASE save Dixie and Brooke and your SHOW. I have been a faithful viewer since the beginning. These two spectacular actors deserve more respect.(So does your audience) I am offended.

I've watched AMC from the start. I've very disappointed that AMC has chosen to let Cady/Dixie go. AMC has let sooo many great people go. I stopped watching for several years for the same reason. Guess it's time for me to take another break.. maybe a permanent one this time. What in the world is going on with ABC and the choices they are making lately? I can not believe you have fired Cady! Just when the writers have FINALLY started getting her character right. She and Michael work well together. I guess you are running out of $$$ and are getting rid of good actors to save some cash. What is wrong with the writing on this soap? You do away with a wonderful actress and a great story, but keep the story of Zarf/Zoey. No wonder my husband makes fun of soaps. What is it with you writers? I think you are the ones who need to be fired.

Then there is the issue whith Brooke what kind of stunt was that? Not only getting rid of her but not even giving her the exit she deserved? I have hung on through all the bad times and low ratings all of these years but this might be the end for me.

Have been watching AMC for 20 years. Apparently the writers of this show have no value for fans in the 30-40 age group who identified with Dixie. We are left with a show full of 20 somethings. How sad. I will watch for Cady to show up elsewhere and CAN AMC!
After many years of enjoying AMC I am deeply disappointed in the decision to let Cady go. The Tad and Dixie storyline was the best AMC had. ABC needs to replace everyone in charge. I found it sad but interesting that no mention of Dixie's death is made on the daily recap on ABC's website. I have stopped watching AMC along with everything else on ABC.

i hope that this is some crazy ploy to flush out the killer. we waited too long for tad and dixie to reunite. JR does a lot of bad things, but he doesn't deserve to lose his mother again.

I have been watching this show since day 1!! I was only 16 @ the time it started and I have never been in such disagreement about the story line of Dixie dying. Dixie and Tad have been my favorite story line since they met. Together forever!!!! Just when they are starting to get back together and closing in on Kate...you take her away again...obviously forever this time. Hopefully this is a ploy made up by Tad, Aidan and Dr. Joe to make her appear dead to the killer. If not, you've lost a lifetime viewer. And I can't believe you've let Brooke go either...She is another character that I've loved over the years. Please reconsider bringing Dixie back by whatever means...if not, I'm sure AMC will go downhill fast...viewers aren't putting up with this. If Dixie isn't brought back by the time the killer is revealed, I'm done watching.

I have watched AMC for as long as I can remember and I am 41...How old is the show? I cannot believe that if they HAD to fire Cady, that they could not give the fans the satisfaction of her FINDING her daughter at the very least!!! I was so shocked! I sat and cried. I have been upset about storylines in the past and have never written, or commented on them until now. I keep thinking that maybe JOE and JEFF have Dixie in this deep coma thing...you know, where a pulse is practically undectectible. Sounds like a DAVID thing..I just want somge gratification for Tad and Dixie. Now they are telling us that Babe or Kendall are going too?!!! I am disappointed in AMC. I have NEVER done anything such as this before, but felt compelled to let the writers know that as a LONG time fan of AMC I feel completely disrespected by this unexpected and undesirable turn of events. The offensive Zarf/Zoe storyline has me on the edge of tuning out permanently and the firing of Cady McLain has brought me one step closer. Reconsider this ridiculous decision.
This was the most horrible way to treat such a wonderful actress. We've been waiting for the day that Tad and Dixie get Kate Back. Now whats the use in even watching anymore. Its pretty bad when One Life to Live is more entertaining than AMC. I remember back (about 25 years or so) when I couldn't even make through 10 minutes of OLTL. I have never felt compelled to post a note anywhere in the past but having watched Dixie's death this morning on soap network I'm still heartbroken.I've watched AMC for at least 30 years-I have loved the continuity of the characters and how they come and go-seeing Dixie return (as well as others at times ie- Jeff Martin, Janet Dillon etc) made the show so much fun to watch- Dixie has been such a central character I can't imagine why you would forever write her out, especially after having set up so many plot lines you could develop with her- The writing seems very confused. I don't want to quit watching but I feel betrayed-the cheap attempt at a Tad/Dixie reunion-date and the last scene with Tad and Kate was a cheap attempt at a wrapup and a let down on a storyline you had me anticpating.- you've given me one less reason to take time out of my day.

I have been watching All My Children since day one. I have never been so furious about a story line as this one. There was so much more story to be told about Tad, Dixie and their Kate. It was all before us, and then it was gone. What on earth are the writers thinking? All My Children has had it's slow moments, but this may be the end of the show. I have stuck with the show because of loyalty, not because the story lines were always interesting, but this will do it for me. Guess I'm one of the fans hoping for a twist to this story that will surprise us and Dixie will be alive and in hiding. We can only hope. I also am so disappointed in the way Brooke disappeared. The women gave all those years to this show, and what. Nothing!! Do all of the writers need to be fired, so we can get All My Children back on firm ground? I was so thrilled when Cady came back to the show, thinking it would revive it, but they never gave it a chance. The writers quit before they ever got started on this storyline.
I have watched AMC since 1970, when I scheduled my college classes around the 11:30 broadcast. I have seen the losses of Mary Kennicott, Jenny, little Laura, and countless others who meant little. However, the loss of Dixie tops them all. There are now so few "core" characters who give this show continuity - it will be a very long time before I can watch this show again. Who will be next - Tad??
What a bunch of morons to get rid of Dixie. I like others, have watched for years. Ridiculous that they think these "newbies" will save the show over obviously core characters are just plain morons. To have such a "buildup" for Tad/Dixie/Kate to have it utterly squashed is a cop out. I can't believe some of the other actors could stand to work with such irresponsible, insensitive holier than thou executives. It is obvious though, that the executives do not give a rats patoot over what anyone says. The more protest that we as fans complain, the more it falls on deaf ears so why not let AMC tank and be done with it. Apparently even a ton of bricks (or enough complaints) falling on their heads won't even do it. We're left with Zarf, the never ending Babe, the spoiled brat Colby, the underused other core characters. Here's a thought, if they think they need to cut the budget down then why keep hiring "newbies" that annoy everyone?
