I have watched AMC since episode 1 and other than the fact they paid NO tribute to the exit of Brooke English, killing off Dixie at this particular time is the only thing that has made me consider dropping AMC from my viewing line up. Let me put this clearly: I am not a huge Dixie fan...so you are not getting a fanatic here. I have however watched AMC for the last 12 years of my life. I have never been as appalled by this show as I was when I found out about Cady being fired. For the love of God... kill off Colby, Sean, Del, even Di to help your precious budget... but to kill off Dixie is in this writer's opinion...a cheap copout. You just did a huge disservice to the fans with the story you have built up this past year. Honestly, AMC is going downhill. Maybe stop firing your veteran actors (David Hayward? Brooke? Dixie?)...and start replacing your writers.
Shows exist because of their viewers so can you deceive us and led us to believe that Dixie was back for good, we're a group of 30 & every week we get together to watch the weeks episode and unless the writers whom seem to have lost their minds manage to come up with a way to bring her back until then they have lost 30 viewers and I know how important ratings are to a show get real!.

I have watched All My Children faithfully since 1970. No more! Killing off the character of Dixie, especially as portrayed by Cady Mcclain is absoulutely insane. Julie Caruthers---someone should have your head--at the least--YOUR JOB! Cady, you are the finest actress on TV today. And to think they kept that moran sister od yours alive--I am DONE!! Seriously...I only started watching again because of Dixie's return and the great reunion of her, Tad and Kate. I could careless about Tad finding Kate by himself, it was all about her bringing her parents together. At least I know I'm not missing anything by not watching AMC.

Cady is the only reason I started watching AMC again after staying away for several years. You have been building a wonderful storyline with Tad Dixie and Kate for a year now and you just totally destroyed it. A major mistake. If you don't find a way to bring Cady back, I will once again be a FORMER AMC fan.
I am hugely disappointed by AMC's decision to kill off Dixie. Why do these producers make these decisions with no regard for the fans. The fans are the bloodline for AMC and this decision may just cut off AMC altogether. I have decided to stop watching AMC because of this. lord knows we have watched her and all of her 8 husbands. The show was getting good agin hoping that DIxie and Tad would find their child. If got to kill someone off get rid of Jeff Martin send him back to where ever he came from. The death screen had me crying so hard for Tad and Dixie and praying the doctors made a mistake and she came back to life. You know Erica is getting old and she can sleep with so many men in Pine Valley but hasn't she done that already. All My Children has gone under a lot of changes in the past but I think this is going to be one of the write's biggest mess ups . I hope you guys understand a lot f fans really liked Dixie and I'm one of them but if you are going to be this stupid then i'm done with All My Children, I have been watch this since I was 18 years old I'm now 56 and will turn you off if this happens so I hope you listen to the fans and let Dixie Live.

Cady is a smart beautiful acctress and the only one who can act with Michael Knight. I started watching AMC because of Tad and Dixie. Them falling in love is the best part of who they are. Tad cannot be complete without his sweet Dixie. Killing Dixie is a horriable move, why not kill off someone else that it would really matter and not someone who is so needed. Every soap needs that one couple like the Martins and who do we have Babe and JR or maybe Kendell and Zack, I don't think so. Bring back the love and romance and humor that was once AMC, bring back Dixie.
I had stopped watching before when Dixie had "died" and started watching again when I heard she was returning...Sad to say that I will quit watching again! AMC is OVER for me, and not just because of the death of one of the most beloved characters. The show has never been worse than it is this year. I have watched this show from day one, so what does that make me? A geezer that is no longer useful to the ratings? Ratings are ratings, no matter who's watching. And this is not about not wanting change - it's about bad decisions and even worse writing. A once fine show has been slowly decimmated. We all need to boycott this show once and for all. As long as we keep watching they will keep doing stupid stuff like this.
This is unbelievable, Tad and Dixie were just starting to get close again and their daughter has been found, and now Dixie will never be a mother to Kate?! Dixie is one of the spunkiest characters on the show, and Cady is great as Dixie, so she should not be written off.
I have only been watching amc for a couple of years, but even before i started i heard about Tad and Dixie. You hear about super couples on soaps even if you don't watch them. Everyone knows about Luke and Laura (GH) or Bo and Hope (DOOL)or Tad and Dixie (AMC). To permanitly kill one half of a super couple seems to me to be dumb because you are going to make viewers mad. I don't like the thought that Tad and Dixie ended especially when the had a storyline going that wasn't finished. It seems like sloppy writing and I don't want to finish watching because it makes me angry. I quit watching days because of their stupid serial killer story line that killed off many vets. They learned not to do that and tried to fix their mistakes, but AMC didn't learn from their mistakes. It looks like AMC lost one of their targeted demographics because I am not watching any more unless they fix this mistake (either by recasting, hiring Cady back, or making this story someones dream). I think I will start watching YR because its on a completly different network.

The idiots in charge could not care less about their viewers-- that is evident! They don't care that we viewers invested time and emotion into the Tad/Dixie/Kate reunion and it is beyond ridiculous and insulting to pull that run out from under us NOW!??! Any issue with Cady McClain could have been ironed out, for the viewers' sakes... This 25+ year long viewer will never turn AMC on again after Dixie is gone.

Tad and Dixie were the reason I went back to watching the show. With Dixie gone and more time spent on the newer cast members, my off & on viewing these last 30+ years will be off.
I've been watching AMC since the summer of 1975. My staying with this show has been a combination of reasons. The three most important being incredibly wonderful witty writing, long standing character relationships and solid real life issues beyond everyone sleeping with everyone else. AMC at times has been on the leading edge with some good story lines. For the most part AMC has never gotten into the looney, far fetched crap that other soaps write. AMC had been responsible for nuturing and supporting the acting careers of more actors that have gone into other evening network series' than any other soap on the air. BUT... Lately, the writing SUCKS and this serial killing spree that has most recently removed this long time beloved character of Dixie is close to being the biggest mistake and the last draw. I don't know how you could possibly correct this recent horrible decision to kill off Cady's amazing character AGAIN, but if there's any intelligent producers and writers left on this show, they should seriously consider doing so, even if they have to make asses out of themselves. It cannot get any worse than what they have been putting us viewers through as of late! Isn't there enough murders and crimes of violence to read about in the papers and watch in the news! I don't want all fluff, but there's other good stories out there than violence that could be told.

I have been a fan of AMC since its inception. The Tad/Dixie love story is one that keeps the continuity going, and keeps the fans watching. Everyone loves them, and the writers need to keep that in the forefront of their decision making.
I am terribly sad and quite confused at to why the writers decided to bring Cady back only to kill her off just as the storyline became rich and heartwarming. I thought you wanted to please your devoted fans who faithfully follow the show and its characters. Please find a way to bring Cady back!!

I think what was done to dixie was awful and that she should be rehired immediately. Tad and Dixie were the only good thing going especially since the chance of Kathy being Kate is there. Please write her back into the script or you will lose so many fans.

Bringing Dixie back and reuniting this character with her family only to then have her killed off is a great way to lose viewers. I'm guessing that is the ultimate goal here -- to ruin an otherwise great soap.
