Why in the world did you kill Dixie off the show? She and Tad were just about to get back together again and possibly find their daughter and be a family. Just once can a story be a happy one even on a soap? This was a very bad mistake that the show has made please bring Dixie back some how.

Totally pathetic, as well as tragic. My sisters and I have been loyal fans of AMC since the beginning. Who ever thought up this plot should be "written out". You have to find some way to bring Dixie back. Make it an elaborate ploy to reveal the killer or something, but do not leave loyal fans disappointed and insulted like this.
Bad, bad mistake. I can't believe you killed off Dixie before resolving her stories. Like many others, I've watched AMC for close the 30 years. Although I've been disappointed with storylines in the past, this goes beyond disappointment - it is just wrong and a complete injustice to the viewers.
So glad I just found this...I am a fan from the Phil and Tara days who strongly wants ABC to fix this error. And if the rumors are true about Babe (won't post a spoiler) it is the perfect way to write her back since those were Babe's pancakes. Bring Dixie back. I've lived through many of a kill off for the past 30 years and this is probably the stupidist. Cady is a wonderful actress and I started to not like her because she changed her character a bit from what it was and that was great. Shows the versatility and range of this actress. A good soap makes you love and hate the character all at the same time. Really bad move on the show's part. You could always make it a set-up to try to draw out the killer. Couldn't be any worse than making Josh Erica's son by abortion!

I work for the school system in our area and all the "girls" there are so angry with you at AMC. The only ones we all cherished on your show was Dixie (Cady) and Tad (Michael). Were pleading with you from all our hearts, CALL CADY and get her back. No one here will watch further if she doesnt return soon.
The writers need to remember that the fans keep them employed. If too many people lose interest the soap will cease to exist. I'm boycotting AMC until they bring Dixie back!!!!!

This is the most foolish thing I've ever seen. I'm 28 years old and I have been watching this show for 21 years. The producers have absolutely no respect for the show or the fans. First the wonderful Julia Barr and now Cady. All My Children had a golden chance to tell a great story and give the millions of loyal tad and Dixie fans a payoff we've been waiting years for. It is not too late. She doesn't have to be dead this could be a plot to trap the killer. Dixie and Tad and Zack could be faking this whole thing. Well, this was the last straw for me. I have wathed it for almost 20 years and I am only 29! What does that say! My mom and I were super fans but not anymore. They just keep getting rid of the good actors and bringing on cheap ones and it has to stop. I won't watch again unless they bring Dixie back!!!

I have watched AMC off and on for years and always started watching again when Dixie came back, hoping for a Tad and Dixie reunion. I started watching again when she came back last year. I will quit watching AGAIN, now that they have killed her off. What a HUGE mistake.

I was looking forward to Tad & Dixie falling in love and finding Kate but now that is gone since you killed off Dixie. It is really disappointing - I thought it was going to be a fairytale ending with some bumps to come with Krystal's baby. I think you could have done better.
Cost-cutting measures in the form of using a preponderance of young unknowns has become the rule for AMC. I believe that the writers have forgotten that fans will welcome newcomers as long as strong ties to the past exist in long standing characters. When a show loses its past, it loses its audience. The complete disregard for the quality of the program and for the mentality of the viewers has made me regret returning to AMC. It's becoming a family reunion attended by strangers. Eliminating Dixie will alienate many of AMC's fans--for some of us, permanently.

Never have I ever posted or emailed anyone about a soap character - until now!! I cannot believe what has happened to Dixie! I could care less now about who the killer is! Getting rid of Dixie for some soap executive's hurt feelings at the expense of dedicated viewers was not a smart marketing decision. I just hope that Dixie has been taken to Hawaii to recover with whatever her name is!

AMC has been on my screen for over 30 years. This is your worst move yet. Not only did you ruin some great stories (getting back together with Tad, finding Kate), but also the possibility of them going on to be the surviving Martin family in the future. I'm done - no difference between AMC and all the others now - they all just keep bringing in new people who stay for a few story lines, then they're gone. Why watch? Can't think of a reason.

I've watched AMC for 33 years, seen actors come and go. I kept watching though, because you kept the ones that carried the show - the ones that gave it history (Erica, Jack, Adam, Palmer, Opal, Dixie, Tad, Brook, Joe). Now in the last several months you have let go two of the most wonderful women - strong women - Julia Barr and Cady McLain. I had always thought that Tad and Dixie would be the ones to eventually carry the torch for Joe and Ruth. Now you've lost me. It's just another soap.
Me my mother and my sister have watched AMC RELIGIOUSLY for years. KILLING DIXIE PERMANTLY was the worst mistake and we decided that we don't wanna watch it anymore...BRING her back NOW!! I suggest making it some medical sleep drug that makes people think youre dead...David coould pull off something like that.
This is really poor writing and smacks of lack of creativity. Dixie is a fine actress and there was a great storyline with Tad/Julia/Jamie learning about Kathy - unbelievable - and I agree - after watching for over 25+ year, I'm done - this was the best soap now it's the most pathetic the only thing it has going for them now is the Kane clan - everyone else on the show - well, who cares anyway - you all need to fix this - oh, and by the way having everyone live at Julia in a castle is pathetic, just write the whole Windemere story off the show - bring Dixie back and classic soap writers with an imagination.
Cady is a wonderful actress and asset to your show. She brings a beauty to the show through her acting and her eyes! Figure a way to bring her back or the storyline for the show is going down the drain.
