I have watched AMC since the very beginning and loved the family feeling of the show. But the writing over the past few years have destroyed the connection the fans use to have with the characters. Now with the way Julia Barr is just gone with no explanation and the murder of Dixie I am done with the show. I hope the writers and producers are enjoying seeing so many of the loyal fans turning their back on what use to be a top rated Soap.
You really missed the chance to bring an anchor family (Tad & Dixie) back to the Pine Valley.

I can not believe (being on vacation for one week and watching my tapes on return that this is TRUE) to see Dixie had died again! I have watched AMC from day1 -- when it was a 1/2 hr show and I had to listen on a TV Radio at work -- I loved seeing Dixie come back and with Tad -- You need to think that there are older people watching not just 20 year olds. We are very loyal fans out there - that love the older cast members -- you need NEW writers - not to lose actors like Julia (Brooke) and Dixie (Cady) -- what were you thinking?? I'm thinking that it may be time for me to stop watching too - without my standby family (on AMC) -- like Palmer, Mytle, Adam, Tad, Dixie, Brooke, Opal, Jack, and Erica -- there is no "All My Children" -- just new young actors (which is okay in small portions) -- but the REAL AMC is the old standbys for me.
YOU have made a terrible decison - and will lose your loyal fans I'm sure.
YOU can bring back anyone in a SOAP and I sure hope that you re-think this decision BIG TIME.

cady mcclain is an amazing actress and doesn't deserve to leave the show. her and tad haven't even gotten back together and they never found kate!! it just not fair... BRING DIXIE BACK!!!!
ABD(anyone but dixie) I am devastated. Dixie must come back, to be with Tad and Kate and so much more! Cady Mclain is the best actress on daytime tv and how she could be killed off by the show is unforgivable!! AMC should have considered themselves very lucky to have had her on the show. If there is any way possible (and in soaps, anything is possible)bring Dixie back - you will be sorry if you don't!!!
I just couldn't believe it when I watched my tape, and Dixie lay dying. What are they thinking? We just get her back, she and Tad are finding their way back to each other, Kate is right there in Pine Valley...and this. Unbelieveable! I've been watching since day one, and I must say I've been disappointed in the show the last year. Babe and Josh...oh, come on...zero chemistry! I miss Opal and her crazy ways. Erica and Jeff...again...I don't see the chemistry...bring her back to Jack! Jeff and Brooke would have been a great thing...would have ticked off Erica big time...but no, they let Julia Barr go. I don't know what they are thinking!
AMC used to be the number one show...many many years ago...if they continue doing this to characters we love...they'll be gone like Another World...:>(
This was not a very good decision. I don't understand bringing back long-gone characters, just to write them off again in a very short while...That doesn't make any sense.
I have waited so long to see Tad & Dixie with Kate. I feel personally robbed. I believe Cady is the best address on Daytime. Please,Please make this a fake death, dream, I don't care how. She isn't buried yet.

What a bunch of idoits. Wonder what school these so called writers went to. They really didn't learn of a little thing called freedom of speech...I refuse to watch the show and I have been watching for some 25 years...Someone really needs to come in and clean up the mess that has been made. Not just Dixie's mess but all the others that are being made.
It doesn't make any sense to bring Dixie back, have her and Tad getting closer as the perfect couple and find their daughter, then you have her killed, that doesn't make any sense at all. Dixie is a great actress and your writer's should have done better by her. What is the matter with you when you fight so hard to get her back and then kill her off. No, this is the worse mistake you have made. I can't believe you did this to her. She is a valuable actress and credit to AMC, and maybe it's your writer's you should be replacing instead of a great actress and story line. Do justice to her and bring her back on the show.
I only have watched AMC when Dixie was a character. When she left I left. When she returned I returned. Every time. I can't believe what a tease it was to have her come back only to kill her off! Once again I will no longer watch the show.

I CANNOT believe the writers were--for lack of a better word -- stupid. I have watched AMC since it's very first episode, but this did it. Guess what--I'm done and I truly hope AMC takes the time to read what the fans are saying. I am not the only one. Many people I know have also said goodbye to AMC when they said goodbye to Dixie.

I have watched AMC for 20 years and have never been more outraged at a storyline. After the long awaited return of Cady McClain and endless storyline opportunities with the most beloved couple (Tad and Dixoe) in AMC history, the writers decide to kill her off before she is reunited with Kate. This may be the reason I say goodbye to AMC after 20 years - the writers are pathetic...
I can't belive Dixie is dead...especially from some stupid pancakes! Her character was one of the most loved out there. Tad, Dixie, and Kate should be together! The new "young" cast just isn't the same I'm "young" myself and I like the characters that have been around for awhile. What are you people thinking? You're definitely going to lose viewers on this one.

Well, it's obviously too late but I thought I'd go ahead and sign anyway. I quit watching when she was killed off the first time and didn't start again until she came back. I wasn't sad watching that last show, I was angry, sick almost. My grandmother has been watching since the show started and never misses it, even on vacation we have to plan around AMC. She told me to write a letter and say that we're boycotting this stupid show. How disrespectful can you be--you killed her off with BANANA PANCAKES!! You could have at least let her go with dignity.
ABC execs are crazy!!! People wanted Dixie to come back to AMC for years after she'd left the show. She was missed. She's the heart of the show. When she came back it thrilled a lot of fans. The story that was being weaved for us just starting to come together and then we were literally raped by the the execs. You are gonna lose a lot of fans from this silly decision. Wathch the fall out from this one.
I agree with everyone who wrote in, in protest of losing Dixie. As everyone else I was so looking forward to seeing Dixie and Tad remarry and be reunited with Kate.

The only reason I continued to watch AMC was for Tad and Dixie finally getting together and finding their daughter. How dare they kill her off and for what??? So they can show some lousy low paying newbies that the older viewers don't care about one bit. I am so disappointed in AMC!!! Bring Dixie back and kill off a newbie instead. Here's two: Babe and Krystal and while we're at it, kill off Josh as well because without Babe, there is no Josh. There is so much chemistry between Tad and Dixie and it was so wrong to string us along all this time for this type of ending. We didn't even get to see Dixie and Tad go on a date. I am beyond ticked off at the terrible writers and TPTB!!!
I have been watching AMC since it first aired, and silently accepted many plot lines which killed off favorite characters, ended great stories, and in some cases, destroyed continuity and credibility. Ridiculous, insulting plots drag on, while the back burners stay full. However, someone at AMC must have taken the brown acid before deciding to cut short the Dixie/Tad story. How do you justify bringing her back to shortly cancel her??? In 37 years, this ranks as one of the worst mistakes.
Killing her off was stupid - I didn't even watch it. I've also watch AMC for 25 years with Dixie and Tad being my favorite. The show has been going down hill the past several years and bringing her back was the only right thing they had done lately. But they managed to screw that up too. Why should we watch anymore if you they don't care about the fans.
I have been watching AMC since the early 70's - but not anymore! Are your writers so young they have no sense or are they just stupid? The storylines are truly bad, (really, now, ZARF and BIANCA instead of Tad and Dixie, AMC's greatest couple ever?) Getting rid of great veterans like Julia Barr and keeping Di and Del? snap out of it! but I'm done. It's not worth recording anymore.
I thought for sure this must be a stunt -- that she'd "come back" after realizing Kate was there or it was a trick to lure out the killer. I can't believe AMC is stupid enough to kill off Dixie.
She and Tad are two of the few people on the show who have any chemistry and act well together. The other couple is Kendall and Zach. If you want to kill off people, how about (lying) Babe and (hypocritical) Josh or (judgemental and overacting) Ryan or the no chemistry girl who's the mother of his suddenly found child? Those characters are spent -- I turn the channel when they come on.
But, Dixie and Tad -- there was so much magic you could have done with that story line now that you were finally getting them back together.
What a huge mistake. It appears I'm not the only one ready to stop watching AMC because they keep silly characters (Di -- what's her purpose now?) and get rid of great ones.

I have watched ABC soaps since 1975 and I am so close to leaving and feeeing up a few hours. Watched "The Young and Restless" the other day for the first time, just to see Vincent Irizary. Stop the bleeding at AMC, starting with bringing back DIXIE!!!!
I stopped watching AMC when Cady left to go to ATWT. I started watching her there as Rosanna because they had better story lines than the ones AMC had.
I have only been putting up with these stupid storylines because of Tad and Dixie and their missing kid.

What a dumb move killing Dixie, you have no idea the number of fans that returned just because Dixie returned. If you had to kill off a character it should have been Erica I for one am tired of her marriages & divorces and triangles, seems like the only story you know hjow to write for her for 30 years. Bring Dixie back, I thought AMC was at a turning point but two steps forward and 100 back. The show is going down hill, no wonder the ratings are never high.
I am in shock and dismay that what could have been the 'Luke and Laura' story in AMC has be trashed. I was so happy when Dixie returned to AMC and I just can't believe she would be killed off just like that. I have made up my mind that I will no longer watch this soap and I have been watching since the 1970's. There are so many other people that could have been taken off this soap. There are so many people on the show that don't amount to a hill of beans. I think this move could and should be fixed. If the writers of this soap can't think of a way to fix this they are the ones that need to be removed, not Dixie.
I cannot believe that after the entire build up of bringing Dixie back to the show just to be sooo let down that she was killed off. The whole show has been destroyed by the current writing team....no wonder they haven't won an Emmy for best daytime show. They are killing the show along with all the actors they're writing off.
