We were shocked to see Dixie written out of the script on AMC. I hadn't heard of it ahead of time. Whatever the issue, they need to get over it and bring her back or they will loose a viewer.
Writing Dixie out is the worse decision AMC has every made! She is loved by all her viewing audience and was doing a great job. I was so happy when they brought her back and whatever this is about politically, AMC will never be the same. There is stil time to change their minds. If they don't, having been a viewer for 25 years, I will no longer be watching.
The only reason why i watched AMC was Dixie,Tad and to see their family reunite back together. But now since the writers have shown that they do not CARE about their fans, i have to say that i will never watch AMC again. The writers don't even care that they are betraying long time fans of this show, and i am sure i won't be the only viewer not tuning in anymore. I loved Dixies character and Cady's acting was wonderful. They have made a huge mistake this time for firing one of their best actress's left on their show. WAY TO GO WRITERS!!

The writers don't care about the fans. If they did, they would have never done this to us! I have watched AMC for almost 30 years. I loved Tad and Dixie. After this I will never watch again. They have shown they don't care about my views and I don't care about their show. I am finally done with All My Children.
I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said...I just think it's ascinine that they keep paying people's salary like colby and sean when they get rid of people like dixie and brooke. I also think they are going to lose a lot of loyal fans, they've made a big mistake.

I was so excited to see Dixie come back. I love her and Tad together. Plus there is another possible storyline with her and Adam. If it didn't work with Tad she could have at least thrown a wrench into his marriage to Krystal. Plus, why kill off a wonderful character that everyone loves and keep Danielle? To me she is an 'extra' character that no one would miss.
ABC seems to have gone off the deep end. They are reeking havoc on the charactors of GH and AMC so bad it is ridiculous. As far as Dixie, that was a verrrrry bad move. TPTB must not know what the fans want or else, Julia Barr & Cady McClain would still be front burner. As far as whether or not Kendall or Babe dies next, who cares? GH seems to be doing the same thing; what do they do over at the stufieo, collaborate with each other to see who they can piss off the most?
Callous disregard of the fans is what happened with the killing of Dixie in such a trashy manner. They could have killed off half the young cast and people wouldn't care. Dixie was a character people cared about and we wanted to see her reunite with Tad and her daughter. What a travesty - I want her back!
Dixie is by far my favorite character to have been on AMC. Besides that, you cheated Tad and Dixie fans out of a real reunion between the two characters. As JR Ewing demonstrated, a soap can do anything . . . so please have made this a dream and bring back Dixie. In the wake of losing other greats like Julia Barr (without a goodbye) and Vincent Izarry I am about to give up on AMC after 30 years of faithful watching. PLEASE do something to change that.

I'm 45 and been watching AMC for over 30 years--AND I AM DONE.
The very nature of a soap opera is to draw people into the characters and...hence flashbacks to remind us of the past, tug the heartstrings and keep us watching. After the years of hoopla to bring Cady McClain back and to unfold the whole Kate sceanrio to kill Dixie...the show must really be on the skids in terms of finances and prudent fiscal managagement.

You dont dangle a carrot in front of a rabbit (bringing Dixie back), let him have just a nibble (watching Dixie for a year) and then snatch the carrot away (killing Dixie). If you did that to an animal, people would say it was cruel and unjustifiable.

I cannot believe that the writers would have Tad and Dixie this close to finding Kate and then kill Dixie. The little girl just lost her adopted parents in a car crash. That is worst storyline I've ever seen. What happened to making amends after botching up the great return of Maria? There are way more fans of Tad and Dixie than not. Not to mention long time fans of AMC. This is my 29th year watching the show and I'm disgusted and will probably give the show up if the writers do not bring Kate's mother and finally reunite the Tad and Dixie together forever!!!

I am sick at the direction the current writers are taking AMC. I have watched this soap for almost 30 years - daily - including the entire 3 years I attended law school, had a baby to care for & years of full time work. These current writers seem hell bent on getting rid of all the long time characters/actors & storylines. It is very upsetting.
I've loved the Tad & Dixie storyline from the beginning & I've always seen them as "soul mates" - no matter how angry they got with each other, they were always united in their souls. I hoped & hoped for years that Dixie would return & the Tad/Dixie storyline would continue. When I heard it was happening last year, I was ecstatic! And, finally in the storyline, Tad & Dixie were close to finding their Kate & they seemed to have resolved the anger between them & appeared to be realizing they still loved each other.
Then, out of the blue - the writers killed Dixie off! For real this time. I'm very angry that the writers refuse to give the long time, loyal viewers what they have wanted & waited so long for - happiness for Tad & Dixie. In fact, it's downright cruel to have brought Dixie back, spent 6 months or more working through Tad & Dixie's feelings for each other - only to drastically end the storyline as they did!
The show & Pine Valley will never be the same - no Phoebe, no Brooke, no Tom & Livia, no Edmund, no Opal, & now no Dixie, ever again. . .it's hardly even Pine Valley anymore. . .very sad indeed!

Having watched AMC for over 20 years I really can't believe that you would "kill off" Dixie. I am in agreement with the other petitioners, I really have lost my attraction to your show with the storyline being presented. Also, I am not clear why so many women need to be "killed off" the show? It is starting to feel like you are cleaning house and that really distracts from allowing your storyline to engage your viewers. The least you can do to rectify this situation is bring the character of Dixie back and stop killing all the women.

Firing Cady and killing off Dixie is wrong on so many levels. It's a slap in the face to us longtime fans who have watched Dixie from the beginning, who cheered when the decision to bring back Dixie had been made, who watched through painful writing with patience because we knew that Tad and Dixie were inevitable. And not only is this promise to us not fulfilled, you get rid of it forever by killing off Dixie. And by a serial killer! OMG, can you be any more unoriginal? The fans want Dixie to know her daughter, we want Dixie alive, we want Tad and Dixie to find their way back to each other. I have already written ABC. After 30 odd years I have stopped recording it and taking an hour of my evening watching. This was the last straw. Nothing wrong with the WOW factor, but I like a little happy ending every now and then. Sounds like they are trying to move more toward the "reality tv"(not my thing)
Knowing that no one else can play Dixie, I think this is a bad move on AMC's part...I have been a viewer for 20 odd years and am very likely going to stop watching soon due to the death of Dixie....It is wrong, very wrong and bringing Tad and Dixie together once again would make most viewers very happy....
I have an idea how to bring Dixie back. Her death was staged as a way to get to the bottom of all the murders. Because the situation is so grave and the murder needs to be found, only the doctor's know, and were sworn to complete secrecy. Dixie could be the one who goes to Janet for help to get some input on how the criminal mind works. Just an idea of a way to bring Dixie back.

I have only been watching AMC for a few years and I do not have the Tad/Dixie connection as a lot of viewers do, but I was very excited about the story coming up when Kate was found at Christmas. The storyline was supposed to be a promise of hope and it is now a story of sadness. Even when Tad realizes that Kathy is really Kate, it will only be bittersweet knowing that Dixie had been looking for her all this time only to know that she didn't get the reunion she had wished so hard for. It is not too late to bring her character back by having this just be a smoke screen to flush out the killer. I am holding out hope that only a few people knew that the peanut butter was poisoned as they had it tested as soon as Winifred got home and they decided to take advantage of that and instead drugged her with something to make it look as though she died and once the killer is caught, she will come back.
How this show was loved by its fans.

How can All My Children get rid of Dixie? It feels like a tease. After years of hoping for Dixie to come back, she is killed off. She was in the middle of good storylines. She needed to get her daughter and Tad back. It would have been great to see her with her daughter that she has been searching for. I am very disappointed with this decision. Please reconsider.

My wife introduced me to AMC when we were dating. We have been loyal viewers ever since. (And we've been married for 27 years!) The show is one of the few tv programs we both enjoy watching together. We rejoiced when Cady McClain returned last year! How can you let her go so soon? It makes no sense. Tad and Dixie should be together forever! Please rectify this situation. Thank you.
I have been watching AMC since I was in college and counldn't understand my new friends' conversations about Erica et al. and they clued me into the show. Cady McClain is a great actress. I was so delighted when she came back last year. I, along with the vast majority of fans, voted on abc.com that the Dixie & Tad reunion was the best storyline of 2006. Please bring Dixie back. The veteran actors/actresses are who make the whole show. I thought AMC was the most realistic soap opera out there, but I was sadly mistaken. Please restore our FAITH in AMC and bring Dixie back so she can continue to reunite with her family. If you need to cut cost get rid of these ridiculous new characters and their storylines! I am a 35 yr old who has watched AMC since I was born because my mother has watched since it began. Tad and Dixie were the core of the show, the reason that I loved AMC. They gave us hope for something better. AMC isn't considering what the viewers want. I will not watch any longer if Dixie doesn't come back. Maybe all of us AMC supporters can find a show where we'll be appreciated because writers and producers at AMC don't care. No one cares about Colby, Zarf, or any of the other new charectors. As an 11 year fan of AMC it is with sadness that I say this is it..........no more. I was seriously tempted to "drop" when the hideous camera work began back when Con-Fusion opened and the Colby storyline started taking over but now to terminate Dixie (Cady) is not only unbelievably bizarre it so undermines that storyline we've been invested in for such a long time. I can only deduce from this that TPTB have made a final decision to rid themselves of the entire show and they figure this way they can use the ratings as an excuse. This will certainly be the "nail" that ensures sealing on a once fine soap. Sorry you couldn't find writers competent enough to meld both tradition and win new viewers.
