I can't believe they are killing the character of Dixie just when there are so many story possibilities. They should get rid of those dumb teens, you know, Colby, Shaun and Sidney. What are the writers thinking?

Erica Kane and her family, Tad Martin and his family, Adam Chandler and his family, these are the people we watch the show for. we have years and years of our own lives and time invested in these core people! we go to SSW's and fan events for them! I'm still in total disbelief!! I've still been watching ONLY in hopes that this is a very bad dream, but if it's not and Dixie is really off the show then I'm gone as well. This has affected me very deeply, I sobbed for hours after watching the death of Dixie and then for her spitit to finally find Kate. How very cruel to your loyal viewers. This I do believe is the final fatal blow to AMC, I do not think it will survive after this. AMC fans are so hurt and confused about this and will not stand for it, they ALL will leave you if you don't come up with a fix on this one. If you need to kill off some one PLEASE off that skank Krystal and/or her bimbo "baby doll" Babe! I can't stand either one of them, they add NOTHING to the show, no big loss at all if they were gone. But our sweet Dixie??? How could you?? We want her back and we want her back NOW! Go ahead, ignore the loyal fans and you will be so very sorry you did!!!
I was happy to see Cady reprise her role as "Dixie". Now she gets killed again I'm very upset to see the show's writers do this to a very important character of the show. I support this petition to bring Cady back to AMC. I am a very huge fan of ABC soaps. So please listen to the fans.
I started watching AMC in 1980, in college. Upon Cady McClain's appearance as "Dixie" many years ago, she became the heart of the show to me, and even in low points in the show, such as now with the terribly slow pacing/inane writing/jerky cinema verite camera issues, she kept me watching. When she would be gone, I would keep watching, hoping for her return. As her character has now been killed, I have decided that I have had enough. I am cancelling my TiVo's Season Pass and will let this soap opera go. The team that made this fatal decision is both insulting to its viewers and frankly, idiotic.
I've read the other comments from viewers and totally agree. I've watched AMC from the first day it aired. I think the show has totally lost it's focus. It's about family and the backbone characters of the show are rarely on anymore. Let's see more of Ruth & Joe. What happened to the Martin Christmas gathering? Bring back Brooke & give her a love interest. Tad & Dixie are meant to be together forever. The show needs their love & humor as there aren't many couples on the show that are allowed to stay together. Show more of Palmer & Opal...& where is Petey? The writer's have forgotten that the fans know the characters & their history together. I think it's time the writers are fired & new writers are brought on who should know what the show is all about. Family!

I have been watching AMC for 5 years, and when I found out that JR and Jamies Mom was coming back on the air I was excited to see how the story line would progress. I was let down when they killed her off of Pine Valley because she seemed very sweet and optimistic compared to a lot of the other women that were involed in the Chandler Mansion in the past years. I dont see why they keep on killing off the characters that have been with the show for so long. I also heard a rumor that they fired this actress because of her views on how they are firing cast such as Julia Barr and Vincent Irizarri. Such a dissapointment AMC writers!!
Sometimes writers get it right, sometimes not. This time they missed the boat on AMC. TPTB should have had more insight as to the fans reaction to losing a beloved actress and character as is the case with Cady McClain and Dixie. The Tad/Dixie relationship was a strong one with viewers and while, yes, sometimes major characters leave shows, this departure was off the mark. The writing on this show has suffered so much and you can see it in the drop in ratings. AMC used to regularly fight for 1st with Y&R. Now, it's way down. Think there's a reason. It's time to listen to fans and what they have to say. This is a soap, and writers and correct mistakes they make. They do it all the time. So, AMC writers, listen to your fans and bring back Dixie however you can. The show needs it, and so do you.
I have watched AMC regularly for over 20 years. I cannot believe how they have killed off Dixie so suddenly and without at least having her and Tad reunite with their child, Kate. If they wanted to get rid of some characters, how about those annoying teens Sean and Colby instead of someone that is a favorite of the fans, like Dixie. The writers are showing that they totally don't care what the fans of the show want, and if you lose enough viewers, we all know what happens then.
I have watched AMC all my life with my mother. Now we are both done with it unless you bring back Dixie. She appeals to all ages. Kill off Del, Krystal, Babe, Maggie,Julia, or Di instead. We wouldn't miss them.
I have been watching AMC since 1972 and I am very upset over killing Dixie off. Please bring her back or I will be done watching. This was so cruel to tease the viewers by bringing her back only to kill her off. Kill off Krystal instead and then it won't matter who is the father of her child. Tad isn't good without Dixie. I'm sure that you will lose way more viewers than just those who sign this petition.

I have watched AMC for over 20 years and killing off Dixie may be the end of my watching it. Real life is about people of all ages and their lives and their loves. We need Dixie and Tad together because they give us hope that we can survive anything that life throws us. The newcomers on the show will not keep me watching AMC. I even think we should see more of Opal and Palmer together, as well as Joe and Ruth Martin. Losing Brooke was a huge lost to the fans too. People of all ages watch AMC and need to have characters they can identify with too.

How ridiculous to bring back a talented actress like Cady McLain, lead the fans to think that there was to be a happy ending for Dixie and Tad only to take it away. Michael Knight is also being wasted. He is no longer amusing and fun. Cady and he had so much chemistry and their combined acting ability was tremendous. We love seeing characters who seemed real and who had heart. These new characters seem shallow and the storylines are not believeable. OK, so this was my first week without AMC. I didn't see any of the Dixie dying stuff and it suits me just fine. I want to remember Dixie/Cady as beautiful and alive not a lame senseless death in a show that isn't even AMC anymore. It's like death, dying, evil has invaded PV...that long drawn out Dr. Madden story and Tad being his killer - it's too much. This isn't AMC, this is garbage. It's been awful for too long. I must say, I feel better not watching, it was a relief not to get bored and irritated! God Bless Cady, she was the heart and soul of AMC and the show died with her!
I have watched All My Children as long as it has been on TV. I'm not sure what is going on with the writers, but killing Dixie off, was a terrible mistake. The show is struggling to be interesting lately. Now that you have killed Dixie, Tad really has no place to go with romance except for Krystal. She is the only one left that he could see. As far the other characters, it is getting slim there as well. Just not as good as it use to be.

I cannot believe all the major stars that have left the show this year; but killing Dixie is the worst mistake you have made. I am a HUGE fan of Michael Knight and Cady McClain. I was so excited when you brought Dixie back; even with her lame lines and defensive attitude. Tad and Dixie are finding their way back together was proving why AMC is my favorite show.When you killed her off I was as shocked as I could be. Why bring her back for 1 year and then get rid of her????? You made a huge mistake and after all these years I believe I will STOP watching the show.

After watching AMC for nearly 30 years, I lost interest..but was once again giving it a shot just to follow Tad and Dixie. Now that the "powers that be" in the infinite wisdom removed the chances of having one of the best couples on daytime soap get back together...AMC is out of my life forever...it is not fun seeing Tad without Dixie.
My friend,Kas (who is 83 years old),we watch the show together,every single day.On commercials we call one another on our cells and discuss the show..Kas is a huge huge fan of yours.We have been waiting for years for you to return to the show and than what do the writers do? Kill a major storyline..We are so annoyed with the writers who ever decided for the character Dixie to die by eating peanut butter pancakes =((.I think they should be fed the left overs !LOL Everyone knows that Dixie has a bad heart and only one kidney.I don't care what the writers have to do,but we want Cady back as her role as Dixie Cooney Chandler Martin.On Dallas when the character Bobby died it was a bad dream sequence..so writers use your imagination that is why I sit home watch the show and you get paid the big bucks!

I am going to watch long enough to let AMC wake someone up from a really bad dream and Dixie is still alive. If they don't bring her back and I mean soon, as soon as the killer is caught, I'm done watching!! I've watched AMC for 25 years and this is the one story line going to bring me to the end! This is the one story line that made me hunt out polls and message boards to express how I feel. How can AMC kill her off before getting to know her little girl. Everyone I know that watches AMC has also said they will boycott AMC if Dixie isn't brought back. AMC are you listening, your about to lose a lot of viewers. The love affair of Kendall and Zach is not enough to keep me watching, because that's all AMC has left!

The 4 actors killed off the last few episodes were probably due to financial concerns. The story line is becoming rather dull. I will continue to watch but really wish you could bring back Dixie. Susan Lucci has been gone more than on the show, many of the cast is gone. Is the show going off the air or are there just bad writers who are destroying AMC.
Tad and Dixie never really reconnected. How disappointing for long time Tad and Dixie fans. It's troubling to have her killed off before she is reunited with Tad and Kate. I stopped watching last time Tad and Dix were sepatated and will sign off from amc for good now.

Permanently writing out the Dixie character was a very big mistake. If you were not happy with her character of late, it was because the writing for her was AWFUL. What kind of writers are in charge there? My 10th grade daughter could write better story lines. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED and DISGRUNTLED. I've been watching since 1976.

typical of amc - i've been watching for over 20 years and every time they get a great actor/actress - their gone just as quick...jessie, jenny, greg, angie,dixie (over and over and over),liza, well the list just goes on and on! I stopped watching till dixie came back and again I start watching "days" - there is almost none of the original left on amc.....palmer, opal (hardly seen) joe and tad, very few others.....the writers have a mild case (ok major) of head up the butt
It's so sad when a program puts the budget before the story. The Dixie/Tad/Kate storyline was one of the best on the show and will deeply affect the interest factor of the soap. Bring her back, I don't care how!
I have watched for over 30 years. I had missed last couple of weeks and could not believe my eyes when I turned on and saw episode. Dixie was a wonderful character. After being brought back from the dead before, what would one more time hurt? I have to say that after years of my husband questioning my sanity in watching this soap, I think he may be right. They made a terrible mistake and I hope the backlash from these decisions cost them not just viewers ( they don't care about us.) I hope it costs them noney which is the only thing that matters.
She comes back to the show to find her daughter and when her the Tad are the closest to finding her the writers kill her off! and not to mention dieing over pancakes! This is ridiculous!

I have stopped watching the show already and I will only go back when Dixie is not a ghost but really on the show. Shame on you for thinking you know what we want. We want our power couple back. Dixie has been my favorite character since the day Cady McClain took over the role. As many others have said, no point in watching now. Why'd they bother bringing Dixie back, just to kill her off again? Maybe Father Clarence can work a miracle. Or Tad can wake up and the satin slayer story will have been just a dream. Or Dixie & all the other victims can wake up on an island, not really dead but just kidnapped. Hey, it's been done on another soap, so why not? Please bring back Dixie, AMC, you have lost the heart of the show.

was some story keeping me tuned in. I have stopped watching. The only thing I feel I would be missing is seeing which longstanding character will be dropped next. It's a shame. Bring then back.
