I am absoultley mortified by the firing of Cady. What are they thinking? The continuel additions of new characters who never seem to develop any kind of storyline is ruing AMC. The last year had been nothing but a disappointment for me. Once Cady is gone I will never tune in again.
I am very upset to think that Dixie's character will be killed off, just when it will soon be revealed that Linda and Jim's adopted daughter Kathy, is actually Kate. I was looking forward to a beautiful family reunion. PLEASE do not kill Dixie, let the reuninion we've been waiting for, happen.
Please don't fire Cady McClain! To do so will be putting the final nail in AMC's coffin. Dixie's return story was poorly written, to put it mildly, but Cady, the consummate professional, always managed to rise above the bad material she was given to play. Now, with promise of a Tad/Dixie Redux, her legions of fans are coming back out of the woodwork, clamoring for a happy ending. Don't diappoint the viewers! The Tad-Dixie Supercouple pairing has ALWAYS been good for the ratings...and it still is. Killing off this popular heroine is counterproductive to the show itself and in short, a very poorly conceived decision. And let's face it: we ALL understand the ramifications. We all know that Cady was fired in retaliation for her public defense of Julia Barr....but let's get real here,guys. What's more important, YOUR egos or the show itself? And if rating continue to decline SUBSEQUENT TO AND BECAUSE OF Cady's firing, who ultimately will pay the highest price?
NO! You finally bring on a character I care about just to kill her off? This shows how little regard you have for the few faithful viewers of AMC that you have left. I'm beyond disgusted by this.
I have watched Tad and Dixie since they began when I was in HS. They are the ONLY reason I have EVER watched the show. I had only tuned back in last year when for Dixie's return, her eventual reunion with Tad and their reunion with the daughter they and the fans have waited YEARS for them to have. To kill Dixie now is disrespectful to their history and to all of the loyal viewers of this couple. Brooke once said that there never was a Tad without a Dixie. That's how I feel. Once Cady McClain's last scene airs, I will say goodbye to AMC forever!
I am absolutely sickened by the decision to kill Dixie Martin. I've watched AMC for 18 years, and Tad and Dixie are my all-time favorite couple. Patiently I waited for Tad and Dixie to reuinite, through this long year in which the writers did their damnedest to ruin her character. Finally, when it starts to look like they're coming back together, they KILL my favorite character?! This is a total betrayal of all the long-time T&D fans. I will NEVER return to AMC after this. Without Tad and Dixie, or at least the HOPE of Tad and Dixie, there is simply no point. What a disgusting waste of the absolute magic Cady and MEK have onscreen together!
Please please PLEASE do not kill Dixie!!! There are too many reasons to name why you shouldn't, but I think the #1 reason is because of the countless fans who loyally love and watch "All My Children" WHICH VERY MUCH INCLUDES DIXIE!! I grew up watching All My Children. I have been a loyal fan since 1980. Tad & Dixie have always been my favorite couple. Currently, they are the reason I watch. Killing off veterns is killing your show.I will no longer be watching once Dixie is gone. I know I am not alone. Please reconsider this awful mistake.

I think AMC should keep her on the show, because she and Tad are a super couple. We have not seen a super couple in such a long time and their characters deserve happiness. They brought hope, faith and love back to the show.
I have been a Tad and Dixie fan from day one. After all these years waiting for T & D to get their Kate and now this...I just don't understand why they brought Cady back in the first place if they were going to do this. It just doesn't make sense. This is the end of the road for me.
Please keep Cady McClain -- She's the only reason I started watching AMC again. If she leaves we'll never see her reunited with her on screen daughter. You might as well end AMC all together.

AMC tried to woo back Cady for 4 years and then they hook us with the whole baby Kate story for a year and then kill her off without any payoff. Disgusting writing and a tragic mistake. It really doesn't make sense to me why you throw away this story with all it's potential and keep re-frying Babe/Josh/Jr's story to the point I'm ready to choke on it. I think killing off Babe and giving Jr some story would be a MUCH better avenue to explore - or if you just need another casualty by the slayer let him/her finish off Dani - she hasn't had any story worth mentioning anyway!

i have watched all my children for 35 years, i have never been so ready to stop watching....if they kill Dixie..that's it..I was ready to quit when the new filming format was installed....i gave it a chance because they have good stories for the moment but if Dixie leaves so will I...

Can't see a reason to keep watching. There is no core family remaining that is worth my investment of time. Phoebe's family is gone, Palmer's family is gone, Adam is the only Chandler, JR is a waste of space, bring back Ross,Skye,Stewart. They bring on families like Dimitri's and the Santos's then they all fade away. You need a scorecard to keep up. No more for me!
Unbelievable. I have watch for the last 16 years for the sole purpose of seeing Tad and Dixie happy, together, with a baby. I will NEVER watch another episode if Dixie is killed off. I am so out of here. The incompetence of the TPTB is scary.

Each time Cady left the show, so did I. I just started back watching just last year upon Cady's return. The writer's completely ruined Cady's return and the character of Dixie. Her return was so disappointing, but it wasn't Cady's fault, she was just doing what she does best, acting. I wanted to continue to follow the love story of Tad and Dixie. I just can't believe that I sat through the ridiculous storylines the full year all because I wanted to see a happy ending for Tad, Dixie and Kate, which we will never get now. Cady's last air-date will be my final viewing of AMC. I am done with AMC!!!! I don't give a flying f#$%^ about the Zarf story or any other boring, ridiculous storyline the show is running.
The writers are SO BAD!!! Last year was almost enough for me to say goodbye, but when Dixie came back all of us long time fans thought there would again be Dixie and Tad. Dixie's character has finally become likable due to a stronger storyline centered on her family. I *want* Dixie reunited with her daughter and Tad. Cady McClain is a good actress and one that I want to continue seeing on AMC.
I used to schedule my classes in college around AMC - mostly b/c of Tad and Dixie. With law school and starting a career I stopped watching for years, but last year when I heard Dixie was returning I went out and finally bought TIVO just so I could tape it everyday. With Dixie being killed off--at the climax of the kate storyline no less-- I will no longer be watching. Thanks for saving me some space on my DVR. Apparently the writers on this show don't listen to their viewers. Keep Dixie and kill the Josh-Babe storyline - HORRENDOUS. Josh is a STALKER. There is nothing romantic about that. The scrapbook of her kid, the popping up wherever she is - creepy. Get a clue.
I have watched AMC for 15 years now. I stopped watching it for a while, but now I am big fan again. I can't not believe that AMC writer are again writting Dixie out of the storyline!!!! I am a big fan of her character and I think Caddy McCain is a great actress. I was excited when she returned to the show as Dixie. I thought finally Tad and Dixie will get back to together again. Their storyline to fans is like Luke & Laura and Cliff and Nina. AMC fans don't want to see her leave the show. With Brooke / Julia Bar now offically gone from the show, this is too much for AMC fans to handle. I can see the rating drop if writers follow through with this stupid decsion. Please rethink the storyline and keep Dixie on the show... Thank you..

The first memories I have in life are of being in my crib, hearing the All My Children theme song from the other room where my mother was watching it. And when I was 12 years old, I fell in love with Tad and Dixie, as did so many other people. I lost my mother 3 1/2 years ago, and it has brought me great joy to watch "our" show and see Dixie finally come back - and to have her get SO CLOSE to being reunited with her family - the only REAL love story ever on AMC - and then to be killed off!!! Unfortunately, I will never again watch All My Children. I will lose yet another part of my mom.....

Some of the storylines with Tad and Dixie were great - enjoyed the Ted/Tad/Dixie storyline very much. In fact, it would be great if Ted came back, as he never was killed off if I recall.

I've been watching since Phil went off to Vietnam. This will be the final straw. Sorry AMC, but there is no way on this earth that I will watch the show ever again if she is killed off. While I am a fan of Cady's. I loved the old Dixie and was dismayed with the way the idiots writers chose to write her this time around. With that being said I must state that I like how Dixie is turning back into the old Dixie and hope to have her and Tad reunited with Kate. This is just plain ridiculous. What focus group wants to see Babe and crystal. I can tell you now that I was not asked regarding this. I can't stand babe or Krystal and would just as soon have them killed off.

Losing Cady is a betrayal to all the fans who have been waiting and hoping for a Dixie and Tad reunion. I know longer trust the show and can not continue to watch it.
Concerning AMC, it is inconceivable to me that this show has spiraled downward into every area: writers, who should be of the highest caliber, are actually just so-so, and cavalier re historical accuracy of characters and stories. Killing of Dixie makes as much sense as keeping "who-cares- about-them characters" Di,(especially offensive),Del (why in the world is he there? Hopefully someone from AMC will read these comments and realize how seriously their base is dissolving.

Obviously the writers don't care about the fans. The show doesn't have much of a storyline right now but we thought they were leading up to Tad and Dixie getting together and getting their daughter back. Why bring Dixie back to take her off. It makes no sense. AMC is getting rid of all our favorites and bringing in newcomers who are not a part of Pine Valley. Please stop doing this. Where are all our favorites going to? Other soaps have been loyal to their veteran actors and us AMC fans want you to be. After 30 years of following these characters soon none of them will be important enough. Please do not let Dixie go. We want her and Tad to find their daughter TOGETHER. Why did they lead up to this and then let her go??? I feel that if the writers don't care about their veterans than after so many years I might be forced to stop being an avid fan of AMC.
I am in shock over this decision to let Cady go; fans of hers and TnD have been waiting years for her return and a TnD reunion.
