I realize you have to make budget cuts, but firing Cady was not the way to go. She, and other veteran actors are what convinced me to start watching the show. I want Dixie back!!!! I will not watch the show without her!! I don'r want to believe that "nothing is sacred."
I'm done after 23-plus years as an AMC fan. Bringing Dixie back only to tease the fans shows no respect for us. A show that highlights an annoying character like Babe and kills a classy Dixie again does not interest me.
Bring Dixie back to the show to be with Tad - beg if you must but get her back - she is the heart of the show and right now it really needs heart and Dixie and Tad with Kate!

If you think younger makes it better most people I know don't what to watch them in one bed then another. Long relatsionships wether apart or together is what makes us watch. With the chance of being back together keeps us watching. And making Tad the killer bad move I hope he;s not next to go.Take a page from GH. L&L were back together for a month let us know the the love between them was still there and gives us the hope for them to reunite sometime in the future. Just a hint you could make it witness protection for her on protection and bring her back to give the fan what they want. T&D back together with Kate. Afan on the edge about ready to stop watching the show. Just remenber I started watching because of my mother she because of her mother. Many of us have young daughters and if we stop watching they stop watching. Stop messing with your show before you can't fix it.
I absolutely agree with this petition to save Dixie. I started watching this soap back in the days of Jenny & Greg. I've seen friends and family members drift away from the show. I never strayed, but this is the most stupid thing the writers could ever have done. I waited and waited, hoping for the return of Dixie. She comes back for 1 year and they kill her off. I am so furious, I will wait this this storyline plays out and will NEVER watch this show again, unless they somehow can bring our beloved Dixie back. Please writers have some compassion for your viewers. We love Dixie and cannot bear her death!
I agree with saving dixie! There are so many other actors that could be "cut loose" from this show without being missed and here you guys go again letting a character with history go. I have been watching this show since I was six which would make 22 years. I am greatly disappointed in the way this show is going
Please save Dixie. I agree that the show has already lost too many fine actors and veterans. Don't have us lose another one. Or any others for that matter. The Tad and Dixie storyline was just getting going and after all they've been through, to axe it now, not a good thing. Please rethink this.

I have watched AMC since I was a freshman in college -- I am now 57!!!! I was excited to see Dixie return and hoped her death was a way of trapping the killer. The loss of Brooke and now Dixie shows an extreme lack of understanding of your audience. Why did you bring her back to get everyone's hopes up that she and Tad would be reunited, as well as united with their daughter. No other story line will be as exciting. Bad move -- but errors in judgement can always be fixed -- if you did not believe this, you would not watch soap operas!!!!
not only was it a travesty that dixie was killed off, but now she has to share her funeral with babe????? unbelievable! what a slap in the face to long time viewers!
I've been recording the show for almost 25 years. Cady has proven herself to be a most convincing and talented actress. I believe it will be damaging to the show to remove her; however, I've noticed that the writers' insights into the show's characters seems to be on the wane, and as such, the stories are becoming less credible (i.e., the character of Tad Martin is not, and never will be, a killer). Since the writers seem to be incapable of understanding the characters, it follows that they'd start hacking up the cast. Cady, I'm truly sorry to see you go. How happy another show will be to have you!
I started watching AMC when I was a toddler. Stopped watching in college when it became too silly. I was going to start watching again now that Tad and Dixie were back together, but now there is no point.
Make her death to have been a dream or something! It worked for Dallas. Been a fan for 30 + years. Daughters named Tara and Erica. Me and my friends will NOT watach anymore unless she comes back as herself!
I see where you are going with this- Julia/Tad/kathy-and Tad couldnt move on if Dixie wasn't dead for sure, but come on we have waited forever for this to come out right!!! Let Dixie be faking it!!!!
As a fan of the show, I feel like I was played. Why would AMC go through all that trouble to bring Dixie back just to kill her off again. Dixie belongs with Tad. AMC brings her back just to mess up Tad. What about JR? What a cruel story line for both of them. I maybe just one fan, but I won't be watching anymore. What a huge disappointment for those of us who have followed the Tad and Dixie storyline for so many years.
I along with tons of my friends swear that if you really kill off Dixie we will stop watching All my children, no offense to the other wondeful actors on the show but we waited too long for her to come back and for you to bring her back just to kill her off is unthinkable you need to fire your writers, especially now that she and Tad were getting close to finding their daughter and be happy and she is so good for JR. he does'nt have a chance without her.

Cady McClain is one of the most beautiful and accomplished actresses of this cast which I also have watched since 1972. I can't believe that Julia Barr and Cady McClain are gone, a few terrific younger characters are still there (Kendall, Babe, Bianca)but a group of sniveling, unsophisticated younger actors (Josh, Colby, Dell) are being fostered by the writers -- makes no sense to many of your viewers! Please do anything you can do to bring Dixie back. There hasn't been a funeral or a burial yet, has there?
With all the weird finagaling they did to explain Dixie's absence, I can't believe it all ends this way. Now Tad is a murderer because of the stupid s/l w/Madden. Even stupider is Josh's existence. Get real. Letting Julia and Cady go was just nuts. Where are these people's heads? I've been a fan since the beginning and can't believe how dumb the s/ls are becoming. Get rid of that snotty little tramp Colby. It makes me ill just to see her onscreen. Also can't believe Julia's character didn't even rate a closure. Now I read that Jack will be leaving next. Will LaLucci exit too?
I've loved Dixie since day one. The show wasn't as good w/out her. I'm more and more disappointed by this show every day. Characters I hate (Like Babe, Krystal) remain, while those I really liked (Simone, Erin, Dixie) are killed off. Although, I am glad Greenlee left town, though I hear a recast is coming back (Ugh!) If you kill off Kendall I will have no further reason to watch the show, as she's my favorite.

Killing Dixie for real this time was one of the worst decisions the writers of this show have ever made. They could have at least waited until Tad and Dixie found Kate together. I think they should do a "Dallas" and make this whole episode just a bad dream.
I've watched All My Children since it was black and white and firing the character of Dixie was one of the worst moves that the show could have taken. I no longer care if I tune in anymore.
As a 25+ year viewer, I'm a split decision away from never watching All My Children again after the ridiculous move of taking Cady McClain off the show. Tad and Dixie are one of the main cruxes of the show!!!!!! Always will be!
You want to cut your payroll, then cut some of those young twits, you've been bringing in. Like Colby, she's a real pain in the butt and Sean, another piece of dead wood. I've watched AMC for forever and have always loved Tad and Dixie. They are part and parcel of the show. You cut Julia Barr without so much as a I s kiss my ass and she was another character that should be brought back. If you want to cut your budget so badly, then don't add so many newbies that have nothing to do with the core of the show. BRING DIXIE BACK NOW!!! Without Dixie there is nothing for Tad, she is his heart and soul. Keep going the way you have been and you've lost a loyal viewer.
Looks as if my days of watching AMC are numbered. I've been watching for nearly 30 years. The story lines/characters are awful, and killing Dixie is the nail in the AMC coffin for me.
Please bring back cady McClain! people think that soap actors are horrible but Cady is such an amazing actress. You have to be to pull off some of that crap! You AMC writters think that you are appealing to a younger audience by killing off Dixie? I'm 17 and I love the Tad an Dixie story line. It's the whole reason I watch the show. No other actors stick around long enough for us to get attached, but Dixie has been there since My grandmother first introduced me to the show.
