I started watching AMC again because Dixie came back on the canvas....Tad & Dixie are the greatest couple on daytime and to throw that away is akin to killing off Erica Kane, and to do it just when Kate is brought on the canvas is unconscionable ! Bring Dixie back or AMC will pay a price in lost viewers and revenue. This is the biggest mistake I've ever seen on daytime TV! Please bring her back!
I have been watching this show since 1976. I have never been as disappointed in a story line as I have been with All My Children lately. Why would anyone want to bring Dixie back only to kill her off. It really bothers me because the writers are leaving people on the show that no one really cares about and are killing the people off that everyone loves. They are writing themselves out of a job. I like the idea of bring Dixie back and using it as a con for the killer by pretending that she died. Why even bring Kate onto the show? The story isn't going to be worth watching without Kate's mother that has been searching for her for 4 years only to be killed off. I hope the writers will change their mind and do something about all of this before it is too late.
Oh my gosh. What a shame that the writers ran out of good ideas, and had to settle for such sad story writing. I have been watching this show for such a long time, it's a waste of these talented actors and actresses have to play these wretched scenes and other non-sense storylines.
Have been watching AMC since late 70's. Lately I can barely stand it. It is very disappointing.. characters are constantly coming and going.. favorite, long time characters simply disappear.. I now watch twice a week.. am tired of watching beloved (and not so beloved) characters leave the show.
I have loved Cady's character for so long. I hated to see her on the B&B. I was relieved to see her come back I hate that the writers took her off. Especially since she went through so much to get to this point. BRING DIXIE BACK! BRING DIXIE BACK! BRING DIXIE BACK!!!!!!

I have been a long time fan of AMC since watching the first episode at 9 yrs old when Mary died and a broken hearted Jeff stood crying by her bedside. I was hooked from then on. I am now 41 yrs old and AMC is my favorite. I am hoping the powers that be are using their creative juices to come up with a plan to bring Dixie back, maybe "staging" her death to catch the killer!!! If Dixie is gone so is this LONG time fan. I do not want Dixie back as some look alike either. Dixie and Tad are pivotal part of AMC history. I think the writers need to start catering to us long time fans. We deserve better! Speaking of which so does Julia Barr (Brooke)! What a fantastic love story could be written between Jack, Brooke, Erica and JEff! Come on writers you need to show more respect for the players, characters and FANS! Bring back DIXIE!!
Dixie and I left Pine Valley together. I am ending my 25 year relationship with AMC. I can not began to think of watching now that Dixie is gone and gone for good. I am thoroughly disappointed that she has been written off. And, what about Brooke? What the hell if going on at AMC. I'll tell you somebody I won't miss....Erica Kane. Let's try writing her off and watch the ratings increase. I am sick of the same old, self-centered, shallow, self-absorbed, immature character we've seen for all these years. Just write her off. We don't think as much of her as you all think we do, nor as much as you think of her. I can honestly say that I just do not care anymore now that Dixie is gone. Julia Barr was also a much better actress than Ms. Lucci. Maybe if Julia and been up for an Emmy all those years, Erica Slezak (who is also awesome) would not have won so many of them. She would have actually had some real competition. When Lucci finally won it, it was simply a pity award.
I have been watching AMC since HS - 1970s. I have never been so disappointed in the writers of AMC. The ABC recaps didn't even mention her death. I didn't even realize Julia Barr was gone. I just knew she was playing a minor part. I am just sick about this.
My contract of watching AMC has just expired with Dixie. After years of waiting for a return I & everyone in my office of 50+ ppl have voted to give AMC the ax..just as AMC gave to Dixie. Oh ...and PS even Thanks AMC for the insulting, manipulating & undermining explanation given to the fans on why the character had to be axed. Way to go with the "real life" comparison on what make stories believable! Soaps are "FANTASY" that is why we watch & why you can get away with the story lines written. You should apply such great philosophical reasoning to all your story lines! Then AMC can end up in the ratings toilet where it belongs after this move! I don't care if the AMC crew feels as if they can't handle more than 1 super diva on the set! You have put up with Susan's antics for the fans years! A word of advice Put up with Cady, grow up & get over it!!!

I have watched for 15 years. I will not watch anymore unless you figure out a way to bring Dixie back soon (maybe she and Tad planned a trick to trap the killer by faking her death). I really can't believe the way it was done either - completely without class. No more watching AMC for me.

I have to tell you that is broke my heart when I found the news about Cady's departure. I hope that ABC will reconsider and allow Cady's fans a little happiness. I love her as an actress, and would love to meet her someday. So yes, I am in "CADY'S CORNER!"

I, too, was so happy you were bringing back Dixie. Even if there was no reunion with Tad, we needed her on this show. I agree with all the other writers, we waited so long and then for you to choose her to kill off instead of many others that would not have been missed as much. I have watched for over 30 years and I will probably stop now. You could say they faked her death with the pancakes to try to bring the real killer out. Anything!!!!Just get her back. All the shows have certain key family characters that make up their show. Tad, Dixie, Adam, Jack, Erica.
One by one they are going and you will lose even more watchers.
I cannot believe they killed Dixie! Why didn't they take Di instead? The storyline is so strong with Dixie and Tad and their daughter....I waited so long for them to bring her back!!! There were so many people that they could have killed off, but not her. I just can't believe it. If other soaps can have vampires, why can't they bring her back! Whoever makes these decisions needs to rethink this and bring Cady back as Dixie. I have watched this show since it started and I'm ready to give up AMC and start watching something else, because all of the good characters are being killed off or are being let go. I've been watching AMC since Tad was a teenager. Erica should have been written out of the show not Dixie. Dixie should have replaced Erica. Susan Lucci is a fine actress but she has outaged her role. The writers lost the heart of the show Dixie-she should have remained and been the central character. AMC would have been more popular. I'm afraid the show has lost another long time fan.
As a longtime AMC fan, it pains me to say that I stopped watching the day Dixie died. Unfortunately, the old AMC that I loved died that day as well. It is no longer a well-written show. There is no concern for the fans or the characters.

Why!!!!I can't believe this. I have been an All My Children Fan since 1976 when I was 10 years old. I just love Cady as Dixie and I have been really looking forward to a Tad/Dixie reunion. This is the first time ever that I have been soooo upset with the writers. Please don't let such a great character vanish from the show. First of all, I thought when she came back, she was signed to a (3)year contract. It doesn't make sense. They were chomping at the bit to get her back. There MUST be something we aren't aware of that happened behind the scenes. She is a great character and there was GREAT anticipation with her storyline with the missing little girl and her and Tad. BAD BAD CHOICE!!

I was so happy when they brought her back but was disappointed with the story line, Dixie would have never stayed away from her son for 4 years. Bring Dixie back! I was a part of the so called "focus group" that supposedly wanted more Krystal and Babe. Yeah that may be true but we all begged for Dixie to return. The story line would have been so much better with all of them and the baby. Killing her off was a cruel thing to do. I do not think I will be a watcher of All My Children any more. I have wasted too long waiting for her return to Tad and now this. Twenty years of watching "All My Children" just to be disappointed. Well NO MORE!!!

How could the writers kill Dixie Cooney Martin, one of the most beloved characters in the history of AMC. Like many fans, my question is: why did they bring her back when they were going to kill her? There was such great potential for her story line with Kate and a new beginning for her and Tad. Cady McClain is a wonderful actress and her presence is missed!

I have watched AMC for years and always loved Tad and Dixie together. First David and now dead? What are you writers thinking...get rid of all the loyal fans and have all the "kids" on acting stupid? And Janet is coming back? What will you think of next and the serial killer episodes are not a match with AMC. I am trying to decide whether to give up on AMC. There are still some of the characters I like and having a hard time making the decision but you will make it much easier if you keep Dixie dead. What a pathetic effort in writing...

tptb don't have any respect for the viewers...why did they tease us with Dixie's return? There are too many stupid young characters that are expendable...but they chose to get rid of a beloved character without giving respect to her 18 year history. I have watched AMC since 1978. I was still in school and watched over the summer and school breaks. In college I made sure I didn't have a class at noon so I could watch every day. But lately it has become obvious that the producers of the show don't care about viewers like me. The ones who remember the glory days of the show when about 3 times as many people watches as do now. I remember Cliff and Nina and Greg and Jenny and Erica and just about man in New York or Pine Valley! But lately the show has just been horrible. Erica's abortion wasn't really aborted? That's just dumb. There's no way that could have happened in 1973. But worst of all is the way veteran actors are being treated. Julia Barr deserves better. Cady McClain deserves better. And so do the viewers. Some of us care about characters over 30. The great thing about All My Children used to be that it showed all kinds of people: rich and poor; black, white and hispanic; young, middle aged and old. Now it's just about the youngsters. If I wanted to see that I'd watch the WB/CB teen soaps. Yes, show young interesting characters but also their parents and grandparents. Does anybody remember that while we had Cliff courting Nina, Palmer was dueling (and later getting together with) Monique/Daisy and Myra was having picnics with Palmer's chauffer. What happened to the show. Now everyone is young, rich and white. And boring. Dixie's death is the very last straw for me. Cady asked us on her blog to keep watching. What a classy woman. How can you fire someone like that. I guess winning Emmys and having people actually watch the show doesn't trump the power trip of the Powers that Be. So you saved a few pennies. Don't you think the advertisers are going to notice another drop in viewers? Maybe I'll start watching again if they fire McTavish and company. But I suspect that the ABC

After watching AMC for 30 plus years. I am done. The writers and executives at ABC don't have a clue. Dixie was a beloved character on this show. By firing Cady, they have shown they don't care what the viewers want. AMC viewers loved Dixie, David, Brooke, Opal and the rest. I am not interested in watching the new story lines. I am tired of the anger/hate filled relationships they have created. Good luck attracting new viewers. Keep alienating the long time viewers and you will be looking for a job yourself.
I've also been a faithful viewer of AMC through the years except when Cady as Dixie wasn't among the cast. With her "death," I won't watch any longer. Why in the world would the producers bring Cady back on the show, with a storyline that did far more than hint at the T/D reunion--their CHILD, for heaven's sake--only to let her go now? The show has far too many extraneous characters now who don't show a tenth of her vivacity, range and depth on-screen; indeed, some seem merely look-alikes a la Cruise and Spears. They are, in fact, as boring as watching wallpaper. Cady shines onscreen. Furthermore, time has proven that Knight has absolutely no chemistry with any other actress. What a pointless exercise in saving a buck. There are only so many core characters left on the show, and you've needlessly, and without thought for your fan base, let go one of your finest. It was a mistake, one that will inevitably backfire on you. Those who still watch will be left with a tangled mess of dull storylines, characters with whom we cannot empathize or relate, and a big gaping hole where the Martin clan et al. used to be. I hope Cady goes on to better things; if the past is any indication, another show will snap her up quickly. You've killed off the best couple you had on the show. What a shame.

Julie Coruthers and the writers have abused us by jerking us around with the unresolved Tad, Dixie and Kate story. I just feel tremendously let down. Let's see if you can undo the damage you have caused with this sensless, in-your-face action. I don't care about David. I don't care about Brook (though you started to show your true contempt for your fans by not even saying good bye to her). Can you fix the wrong you have done?
