I have been watching this show for thirty plus years. I still have episodes taped in the 80's, that I keep for comparison. I have often thought, in the past three years, that the writing has gone way downhill. Killing off Dixie (again?) is the worst mistake, in a long list of writing blunders. To those writers I say, "I may not be part of your youth market target audience, but I am not dead yet."
I have watched this show since the beginning. For the last year or so, I have thought the writing was really poor, but I was still watching. This was really unforgivable. Tuning out...
Tad and Dixie were the only family you could enjoy watching because they acted like a real family. I was looking forward to having them reunited and raising their daughter together. This is a terrible decision on the writer's behalf. Please bring Dixie/Cady back.
I've watched for 30 years. The last months have been unbearable. The firing of the actors and actresses that are the lifeblood and history of this show is short-sighted and sad. This story line has been put under our noses like a carrot for months....Now she is dead??? This is enough to make me quit my most loved and long-lived habit. AMC.
Have been watching since 1977 but with two of the best older actresses gone (along with David) there is not much reason to continue - especially with ridiculous dragged-out story lines (Tad murders Greg Madden!?)and a bunch of actors with no story lines. Too much Babe and Kendall - and Dixie leaves just when she's about to be reunited with Tad and her daughter? The writers are crazy. So many people would have tuned in to see all of that great soap stuff. Don't they know that's a big reason we watch? We like and care about the characters! I've lost a lot of people in my life, and I enjoy AMC to entertain and cheer me up, not bring me down. I don't even care who the 'satin slayer' is anymore, the writers will probably have it be Tad, Erica or Joe Martin. I would love to see the head writer fired and Dixie return (a good soap writer could figure out how!) I guess I've been watching too long and this is just a sign to move on.
Killing Dixie off is the worst thing that could happen to AMC. The writer's have totally lost it and should all be fired. They didn't even have a funeral on the show for Dixie. Instead, Kendall is throwing a party! The writer's didn't even write in any mourning for Dixie. It's like everyone was sad for a day and then went about their business as usual. I'm so angry about what they did to Dixie on the show and swear I won't be watching any longer, unless I hear that they will somehow bring Dixie back. And do it soon!!!
I'm currently 33 year old and have been watching AMC since I can remember with my mother, I'm was so disappointed with the decision to kill off Dixie - Please dont!!!
Please do not do this to us. When Dixie came back her fans followed her back and now that you have done this you are losing even more viewers. Please get Cady back
I can't believe that AMC would do this to Dixie. There are too many ways to cut their budget. Kendall gets too much air time, why not get rid of useless characters like Aiden(no ties to the show, they don't need two detectives),Di (no story or reason to have her) ,Amanda (should have been gone after the Janet story),Del(no purpose) ,Johnathon (Lack of story),Lilly( No longer entertaining I feel you can do no more with her),or Josh (characher does nothing but stalk). Dixie has ties to the show and everyone was waiting for the reconcilliation of Tad and Dixie, then for them to find their daughter when the decision was made to kill her off. She also has chemistry with Zach. There is so much that the writers can do with the character of Dixie. I am tired of Kendall carrying the show.

AMC - you blew it! The only thing you had going for you was a Tad/Dixie/Kate reunion. Now that is gone and so am I. These characters and their fans deserved better! You've lost a faithful viewer who has watched this show since the beginning.
For the love of Pete, save Dixie! Does AMC really think that lesser characters like that Chandler brat and the maid's niece are going to save the show by attracting a new generation of younger viewers? I don't think so. AMC's bread-and-butter is in characters with heft, like Dixie. I've been watching since I was a kid and it didn't make it more or less appealing to watch characters my own age. My mom is an AMC fanatic and I have to say that I agree with her on this issue wholeheartedly. It's a dumb move to kill Dixie off.
I am very disappointed in AMC especially as of late. I have been a viewer since the late 70's when I was a little girl. I am really getting frustrated with soaps going after the "younger" viewers. I am 34 and enjoy the vets, that is how you got to where you are. You are going to lose a lot of "vet" viewers. Dixie was one of the most beloved characters of all time and to have killed her off was a VERY BIG MISTAKE!!!
I have watched AMC since I was in Kindergarten, and my mom watched it while I ate lunch before I had to catch the bus. That was 1971. I have never wrote in about anything before, but this I had to. I have been waiting for months for Dixie to finally find her daughter and reunite with Tad... and she dies! What was the point of bringing this daughter in the picture if she was never going to find her! We have enough tragedy in real life - give us something to look forward to 1 hour a day! Bring back Dixie!
Oh my - I can't believe the writers are this stupid. Killing off Dixie? Bring her back - so many outstandings storylines that she is very involved in. It was a mistake to ever let her go before but to do it again - now - is stupid.
Abruptly killing off one of AMC's most beloved characters without even resolving her storylines first has to be the worst decision those in charge have made (and they've made some doozies of late). After years away from AMC, I started watching again when Dixie returned to Pine Valley. Thanks for dumping the only reason I continued watching the show. With Dixie gone, I'm gone too. Save the show...bring back Cady!
I can not understand what the writers, and "powers that be", are thinking? Why kill Dixie? Especially when her story line is getting good. She was just about to find out who, and where, her daughter is. Tad and Dixie were starting to reconnect, which us fans were thrilled with! Why does Tad's character have to suffer even more? Can't he get a break?! What could possibly be the reason for killing her character off? If it is only a monetary issue, then get rid of some of the "useless" characters, like Colby, Sydney and Sean. Firing Dixie is one of the biggest mistakes that AMC has made. I have been watching AMC for about 30 years and this is probably the worst decision they have made in that time!

I have watched AMC for years and was so disappointed when Dixie was killed. I am no longer watching the show...the writers first disappointed me when they brought Maria back and spoiled that storyline and changed Edmund's personality along with it. I had begun to lose interest then but kept on hoping AMC would redeem themselves. Instead they focused on the younger ones like Kendall, Babe, JR, etc. and left the veteran actors in the background...
except Erica who I do not enjoy watching. Killing Dixie was the last straw.
AMC 's best story line is about Tad and Dixie . This soap is not worth watching without them . Micheal and Cady make AMC . Without them this soap is ruined . It is like removing Raymond out of "Everybody loves Raymond ". You can't do it . Anyways I'm into GH now until you bring back Cady ! AMC sucks !
Big mistake, get Cady back fast. We need Tad and Dixie to keep this show together. You have underestimated the importance of this couple to the fans. Rectify your mistake and get Cady back with Tad pronto!
Michael and Cady were born to play Tad and Dixie. Their relationship was magical. Tad's relationship with other characters did not have the same effect. The "wishing star" storyline takes such effort and time to build, why destroy something so inspiring?! What a waste to bring her back for just one year!
Tad & Dixie were and will continue to be "magical" ... killing Dixie off was (in my opinion) a major fopah. Like Luke & Laura, their memories will go on ... I'll never forget when they first got together so many years ago ... shame on ABC ... shame on the writers ... shame on the "powers that be." After watching this show for over 30 years, it is no longer on my DVR ...
I ahve been watching AMC for over 30 years but when Dixie died, AMC was deleted from my tivo. Between her death and the loss of so many other great characters (& actors). I rather have The show end quickly then watch TPTB drag it down to a slow death and cancellation. I'll miss you old friends!

I have watched AMC since the beginning. My interests had begun to fall in recent years, and then Cady came back and I actually looked forward to coming home and watching the show that I had video taped during the day. I was beginning to enjoy the story line again, even with all of the death you had decided to interject into the story line. AND NOW YOU KILL OFF DIXIE! WHAT IN THE HECK ARE YOU THINKING?? You have ruined this show; who cares about this silly Satin Slayer. It has gone on far too long, get over it and get Dixie back, and put the twist back on to Tad and Dixie. My guess is that you will have lost a great many long time watchers if you don't do something really quickly!!!!! WE WANT DIXIE BACK AND SOME HAPPINESS FOR TAD!!!!

I truly do not understand what has happened. I am not clear on the reasons why "Dixie" was killed off. Is it Cady's lack of care for her fans or is it your company's lack of respect for its fans. Whatever the reason may be, I must express my dissapointment. I must also state that I no longer have the passion I had for the show. I really do not know if this would ever be repaired. Please find a way to make this right. Bring Dixie Back!!!!

I have been watvching amc since i ws 16, i am 51 now!!! how could you play with a story line as good as this one? all because of a little pride and you had to teach someone ( cady) a lesson. shame on you people. i will not watch again, nor will my mom, my sister or my daughters,we always had this in common. somethng to talk about on sundays. thanks for taking it all away. stop killing off all the young people. you guys are greedy and crazy. you'll be sorry,and standing in the welfare line. ha ha

Getting rid of Dixie is just ridiculous. Obviously the writers are thinking about what makes a good story...but what they're forgetting is who their target audience is. Do they really think that "offing" all these characters, some of which we've grown up with, is going to keep viewers? I can tell you, unequivocably...no! If Dixie isn't brought back, then I think you're going to see your viewers start to leave. I will be first in line!
Just when I thought Tad and Dixie could find their way back to each other and you banish her from Pine Valley. Apparently having one couple who might be happy is forbidden. You must think that you don't owe anything to your long time loyal fans.
The writers did a rotten thing to its fans. I've been watching AMC since 1975. Dixie finally came back, she was barely here, and then gets killed off. She did not even get reunited with Kate which was the big storyline. I'm still shocked that they did this to our beloved Dixie. AMC will never live this one down...

when i watched dixie die i seriously bawled i couldn't watch it i kept having to stop the tape get my composure back and then finish watching it it literally took me hours to watch it. please let it be not real i can't stand this get her back
I cried so hard it was as if I lost my very best friend. In fact, I did. She and Tad got me through so many highs and lows of life that I consider them family. The world being so dark and scary these days, at least we could count on their "together-forever " as a promise of love and hope to shine on us like their stars in the sky. AMC has just turned off the nightlight and the moon for all of its faithful viewers.
I only started watching AMC "again" when I heard Dixie was coming back. Every time I have stopped watching it was because you wrote Tad or Dixie out. I have watched AMC since I was 15 yrs old in its beginnings. Was that 1970? Tad and Dixie have always been my favorite couple. Why do you do this?? Surely you can come up with a great story that would be worthy of a Day time Emmy award nomination for Cady McClain and Michael Knight. AMC's writers are so wrong if they think this will be forgiven. No one does it better than Tad and Dixie. What fools you all are for breaking them up permanately. You under estimate your audience.

AMC Producers are asses for firing Cady. The Tad and Dixie s/l is the best and most loved in soap history. Her return brought me back to AMC. I will now leave again, if she is really gone.
Please bring back Dixie. She is the reason I started watching AMC again. She and Tad bring back your faith in true love. How could you "kill" her before she is reunited with Kate. As a mother, this breaks my heart!
I've watched the show since the early 1970's. I am fed up with the story lines. The writers should be the ones leaving. Pine Valley with the Martins and Tylers was once a great show. Too bad the writers don't realize that new is not always better. Let's see some more of our favorites.

I've watched AMC since 1970, but no more! They have had some pretty far out plots but this is the absolute worst. Tad and Dixie were the perfect love story, how could they build up to them being together and finally finding Kate only to get rid of Dixie? If they get Tad together with Julia to raise Kate people should just walk away and forget about this once wonderful show that was about love and family.

I have watched AMC since day one. I cannot understand why they brought Dixie back only to kill her off a year later. BRING HER BACK!!! She is an important part of the AMC family and the show won't be the same without her. Cady is such a good actress, I watched ATWT just to see her.
