What are you thinking by killing everyone off, especially Dixie??? I think it's the writers who should be fired. We won't even go into the Julia Barr situation. You will be sorry for these changes in the end.
It's not too late to bring Dixie back. AMC may have to do some begging after how they treated Cady, but its worth it. So, AMC writers need to get on the ball.
Dixie and Tad have a long history with AMC, and to let her die is a crime.
BRING DIXIE BACK!, her story line could have been more creative,especially if you had generated a love triangle with David still in the picture, (another AMC,bad move by letting Vincent go.)

I have been watching AMC since 1976, and am now seriously thinking of no longer setting my VCR every morning! This show is going in the wrong direction the way they keep dropping their beloved veteran actors like flys. To kill off a super couple like Tad and Dixie is just crazy... The only super couple that AMC has left is Kendall and Zack. In my opinion these new writers just don't understand what makes a soap opera successful! Beloved characters that you faithfully watch year after year... Tad and Dixie together again - as far as I am concerned AMC blew a huge chance at a blockbuster storyline that could have maybe gave a show, where the ratings are slipping beyond recourse, a shot in the arm to get it back on top again... Before it is way toooo late they better think or rewriting Dixie back into Pine Valley or they are really missing the boat!
Since AMC began, I have watched it. Tried and True. The sense of continuity is long gone with the loss of so many beloved vetrans. No more Cady, (Dixie), no more AMC for me. Its called the Final Straw!

I watched my first AMC. Nov. 12,1974. I was in the hospital giving birth to my first child. Three children later and I am still a fan, but I no longer watch. Too many new characters, unresolved stories and even stories that make about as much sense as my eight year old grandson could write...Sorry AMC you have lost me, I'm going to another soap....
You were finally bringing Dixie back to who she was. Tad had asked her out. She is killed off only to have her angel find her daughter. As fans we were cheated. Bring Dixie/Cady back. It was an ill conceived move at best!
Please bring Dixie back. I bought TIvo for both of my homes as to ever miss a show (i only returned to AMC after Dixie was brought back beginning with the Di story line). Please don't abandon a huge group of loyal viewers (i have watched for about 28 years with a hiatus after Dixie died the last time).
What is happening to my favorite soap? I have watched AMC from the very beginning and Tad & Dixie are my all time favorite couple. I was so happy when I heard that Cady was coming back to AMC but so disappointed in her storyline. Now that she has been killed off for good I am done with AMC unless she is brought back.
Why can't we have ONE decent "Super Couple" on AMC? You went & ruined it by killing Jack & Erica's forever long love,....why can't we have at least one "Super Couple" w/ some brains & common sense??? EVERY soap should have one. For AMC supposedly being one of the longest running soaps, it's turning out to be one of the most stupidest story lines--even dumber that a 30 year old redundant story line like "Star Treck". I'm a big fan of Cady and Dixie and I couldn't believe they would treat Cady that way after so many years of being a part of AMC History. (Julia Barr too. Bring her back WITH storylines!) I feel the same way as all the other people that have joined to sign this petition. I have been a AMC fan for a very long time and when Dixie was came back to the show it made me very happy to see all the joy she had brought back into everyone life that loved her. How could you offer her a contract and then fire her. Dixie had changed JR for the better and her and Tad were about to get back and she was so close to finding Kate. I have lost total interest in watching the show anymore for the stupid mistake that the writers did writting her off the show. I refuse to to watch AMC ever again unless they bring back Cady McCain. I'm sure there are a lot people out there that don't have Internet access that are unable to voice their opinions about this that feel the same way. Why on earth would you people bring her back just and fire her to upset your viewers. Get with the program and get her back and you better offer her a better salary to talk her to come back. I have been watching AMC since it aired(60's), they have now lost me as a viewer with the killing off of Dixie Martin. The character of Dixie Martin (Cady McCain)was wonderful story line. All AMC fans really wanted to see her united with Tad and their daughter Kate. The 'head writer' needs to be fired for this huge mistake! They have lost me as a viewer, along with thousands of others. ABC Daytime executives need to bring our favorite characters back.

I've been watching AMC since the early 80's when Tad & Dixie arrived, and now I have absolutely no reason to watch the show anymore if there isn't going to be a Tad & Dixie. I believe there are way too many fans of Tad & Dixie as a couple, and so many of us were looking forward to them finding Kate.....together. I feel a lot of fans will stop watching like I have, unless Dixie comes back. BRING CADY BACK!!! Maybe you have some elaborate story line to bring all of the killers victims back like someone else mentioned. I sure do hope so. Aren't veteran viewers important to you as an audience?
FYI: Since I now don't even bother to watch any afternoon t.v.,I'm sure others have done the same, and OLTL & General Hospital has probaby lost viewers too because of this. I've never written in, posting a complaint before, and I would assume there are others like me who finally feel upset enough to say something.

Killing off Dixie was the cruelest thing I have ever seen done on a soap opera, since I started watching Ryan's Home when I was in elementary school. Tad & Dixie went through a lot this year and were so close to being together again and finding their daughter. Wasn't that one of the reasons you brought her back. This whole year they've been looking for Katie and slowly getting together. They needed to find their daughter together and maybe even remarry. This has been a very special love story and you have done serious damage to your fans. If you feel the ratings need to be raised, you should not be killing off characters who mean so much to your fan base like Dixie and Brooke English. I remember when Brooke first showed up on Aunt Phoebe's doorstep as a smart ass teenager. No goodbyes for her either - just walked away and left her son, her home? Another serious mistake on your part. I know I digress - this is about firing Cady and killing Dixie Clooney Martin. I have serious reservations about the show lasting much longer if you kill off the long time characters. Even with some new "kids" the stories need the "adults" who the fans love to watch to keep them grounded. BRING BACK DIXIE!!! PLEASE!!!!

I have been a faithful viewer and supporter of this show for 34+ years. I am dismayed at how tptb have turned a deaf ear to the cries of the lifeblood of this show. You have lost yet another viewer, who, while I may not be in your prime demographic, I have plenty of disposable income and have informed your sponsors that I will not be spending it on their products and I will no longer be visiting any Disney-owned theme parks for the forseeable future. You may control the future of AMC but I control the future of me!!!
I have been watching AMC for over 20 years now. I started watching it in my teens....I also have two teenage daughters now that I got hooked on watching it. Well, we were waiting a LONG time for the Tad and Dixie reunion...and you made it seem like it was going to happen...same with the two of them finding their daughter....but, it never happened!!!! I think it was very unfair of you to bring Cady back for such a short time...for her and for all her fans!!!

I got into watching AMC when I was 10. Over 15 years ago. I have never been as mad and I dont even want to watch any more without Dixie and Babe on the show. I hope it turns out that all the victims of the killer have not been killed but abducted and return to the show shortly.
I would have never imagine that a show would kill off so many of the characters at once especially the major ones such as Dixie and Babe. I feel my heart palpitations. I am not going to watch this show anymore. I can't believe it.

Since ratings are down- you might want to keep the loyal viewers you have. The show is going downhill. I've only been watching for 3 years but, I may go back to ATWT.
I've been watching this show since it all first began. It's such a shame that AMC feels they need to get rid of the backbone of the show. The love between Tad and Dixie gave us all hope that a lost love can be found again. After 36 years of watching, I will not care to watch again. The show does not have the story lines for us old dedicated watchers.

With the untimely death of Dixie (again)and the unfinished storyline, think AMC has really let their fans down. I have watched AMC for years and now I seriously considering never watching it again.

This so far unexplained firing of Cady McClain is certainly not a ratings-booster and not one of your brightest efforts to improve "the canvas". I'm sure Ms. McTavish was as confused as the rest of us, if she bothered to read her explanation of why she made this ridiculous decision. DONE!
You writers made a huge mistake trying to write out dixie. you were dumb enough when you wrote out jillian all those years ago. but this is just an imbucile move. grow a pair, accept your mistake and make the whole babe and dixie death a ploy to get rid of the slayer.
I waited 4 long years for the "real" Dixie to come back and I too cried myself sick. Just when it was right for Tad and Dixie she died! We want her back so she can see her daughter and be with Tad as a family
No other scene in all my years of watching sopas has stayed with me like the one with Tad and Dixie's hands reaching out to one another when Dixie was being taken to the mental hospital. After all the sadness and agony, please let Dixie come back to Tad and her children, they need her.
