PLEASE keep Cady! Eventhough I don't always like her storylines, she is an EXCELLENT actress and she make AMC. The Tad and Dixie story has not had a chance she she came back on the show to actually reunite their long-time relationship. Not to mention, their daughter is now in Pine Valley and they have not had a chance to (together, as a couple) develop a bonding relationship between the three of them. HELP! PLEASE, PLEASE get Cady to stay on with AMC. If Cady leaves, I will certainly turn my 20+ year attention to this show OFF. Done with it! Save Cady!!
Geez Louise. I am heartbroken and baffled at this news. But I am more convinced than ever that the writers/producer are hoping and praying for cancellation. There is no other reason for what is happening on the show right now. It is TERRIBLE, and the only reason many people even watched anymore was to see the reunion of Tad, Dixie, and Kate. I've cancelled my 'season pass' of recordings and will not watch again.
I am furious that after I have watched AMC for YEARS that cady is being written off. She finally came back to the show with a storyline that progressed way too slow and now just as Tad and Dixie are finally renewing their relationship and getting their daughter back, she is fired. I cannot take another veteran actor removed from the canvas! I love the history of Tad & Dixie & was so excited to see them finding their way back to each other & finally finding their daughter. There's so much story to tell now! Killing off Dixie never opens up the opportunity for Cady to come back again & it will only give us stale, already done scenes. I really don't feel like seeing JR fall off the wagon AGAIN & Tad mourn for her AGAIN. This is so stupid. I've been watching for almost 30 years & finally feel like I've had it with the show. I hate the filming process, the way Julia Barr was treated & the constant underuse of veteran characters. Why should I continue to tune in? I can't think of one reason....
Cady is a wonderful actress and deserves to be treated as such. I'd hate to loose both Cady and the character of Dixie. TIIC need to realize that they just made the biggest mistake of their lives in letting a talent like her go.
I am very upseting heard that Cady is fired! My Friend told me that Dixie fired and I thought it was a Joke! Because Dixie just return and going reunited with Tad and going find Kate! I am hoping that AMC is taking a page from Days of our Lives book a few years back when everyone was "killed off" then brought back. Maybe, just maybe they will bring them back! I have been fan of Tad and Dixies since 1989. The story line of Dixie being killed makes no sense. Now that Dixie is being killed off, I will never watch this show again.
I think that the decision for Cady McClain to be written out of the show as a victim of the Satin Slayer is ridiculous. This comes at a time when Dixie fans (like myself) were just getting used to her being back...looking forward to her being reunited with Tad, and finally finding Kate (after we have been tortured with wondering if, initially Emma was Kate, and so on). It seems like an ignorant direction for the show to go in, to find Kate and then write her Mom off of the show (especially after Kate's other Mom just recently died). Something is fishy within this entire mess. One thing is for certain: I have been an AMC viewer since I was in the womb...I am now nearly 28 years old. I have been a faithful Tad and Dixie fan. I am outraged, let down, and finally admit that I see the show going downhill (even though I did not want to admit it before). That's it for me. Dixie's last day is my last day.

It's amazing that business decision-makers are eliminating characters based on unreliable data. I have watched AMC since Erica and I were teens and now watch with my own teens. The writers seem to have made a mad attempt to add as many youger characters as possible along with some pretty "out of the mainstream" storylines. The average viewer (who abviously are never polled)lost interest long ago in the petty-trying-to-get-the-r atings-up storylines of Babe,Colby,Zarf, etc. The only reason my daughters and I watch while doing other things is to see if Tad and Dixie have scenes. You forced your views to wait for years to see a positive resolution of their separation and loss of their child. I can't believe I am even taking the time to write because your taking the advice of the writers on this board will only benefit the producers of AMC. They obviously are not concerned about the preferences of their viewers. It's absolutely amazing to me as a business person. It's like Microsoft suddenly producing software that only appeals to a limited group of younger buyers, while ignoring the buying histories of the majority their customers. But of course, that would never happen and why the revenues of AMC will continue to decline. No more AMC for me or my family. Perhaps the soaps of the other networks will benefit.

I have watched AMC since the beginning. This last year has been trying to say the least. I have tried to find reasons to keep watching this train wreck of a show that I used to love in hopes that it would finally take a turn for the better. No such luck. The show has become unrecognizable, populated by newer characters forced upon me to the point that I can't stand them and veteran characters that are not even a shell of their former selves. So with this latest exercise in stupidity, the killing off of the beloved Dixie Martin that I finally say goodbye to Pine Valley.

I think you are making a big mistake. There are so very many of us that have followed the Tad and Dixie story line from day one hoping for a child for this couple, now we have the child, but Tad and Dixie are not aware of her. You kill off this child's parents, and are willing to give her to a complete stranger, instead of reuniting her with her real parents. NOW we hear you are killing off Dixie, What is wrong with this picture? The fans that stuck by this couple for all these years are getting kicked in the pants by TIIC.

We're finally seeing signs of Tad and Dixie starting to fall back in love with each other. I've been so looking forward to a reunion and for them to get their Kate back. I've been watching this show for many years and loved the Tad and Dixie romance. Please reconsider killing off Dixie!!!!
I believe that cady is the best actress on all my children. the only reason i like it so much is because of her. it is exciting that they are really get closer to find kate and tad and dixie they totally belong together. everyone finally forgave dixie for what she had done and now the show won't be as exciting it would be pretty sad now that they find kate and kate still won't have a mom.

I fail to understand at all why you would "kill" Dixie's character when everyone was so happy she was returning - I cannot belive there is a logical reason, budgetary or otherwise, that could possibly excuse this action - you are making a tremendous mistake and, I am sure, will lose many more of us who have watched the show for so many years - how many viewers can you afford to lose - perhaps that should be the main question you ask yourselves.
I have watched AMC since day one. The show has been a terrible disappointment the last couple of years. One of the reasons is because the "powers that be" do not give their loyal viewers any credit. They think that by getting rid of the veterans (I guess as a way to save money....why give any thought about something so insignificant as to the quality of the show) and putting on these barely clothed kids.....that the show will be more appealing. What an insult to our intelligence. Now that the storyline with Tad and Dixie is moving along to some kind of resolution about their daughter.......you decide to be vindictive and fire Cady. I did not think after all these years that I would stop watching AMC, but not allowing this storyline to go full circle will be the last straw for me. Hope your decision bites you where the sun does not shine. You'll deserve it!

I am absolutely furious over the decision to fire Cady, and especially to kill off the character of Dixie. I have been waiting for Tad and Dixie to reunite with their daughter for years, and to do this now with that prospect right on the horizon is a huge slap in the face. After watching AMC since the early 90s this will be the end for me if the situation is not somehow rectified.

I have watched All My Children from day one, when I was a mere 8 years old. AMC was once a great show. It still can be...but you have to keep the good actors and have good stories for them. Please keep Cady as Dixie. It is not too late yet. Redo the scenes and reunite Tad and Dixie, arguably the best super couple AMC has ever had! If you don't, I promise you AMC will lose a record number of viewers who will give up on what is quickly becoming nothing more than a train wreck.
