I have watched for over 20 years & I cannot believe how stupid AMC is turning. The character of Dixie was one of the best & Cady is one terrific actress. The writers need to be replaced if they can't come up with a storyline for such an important character. It would have been great to see Tad & Dixie have a long term marriage like Joe & Ruth but it seems like the writers want all the characters to be in constant turmoil. I am looking at the CBS & NBC soaps to see what they offer!

First ABC turns Laura back to a vegetable then they kill off dixie... whats the soap world coming to? Treat the fans like dirt, then your show will go under... soon nobody will watch the abc soaps at all. I always watch only abc soaps.. now I have to re-think that. Bring back Dixie.... Babe can go in her place.

I can't believe that we've waited so long for Tad and Dixie to get together and have Kate in their lives and now Dixie is killed off. This is a rip-off to the fans!! What are the writers thinking? Why are they depriving the fans a great storyline? Are they afraid to write a storyline? Think of the potential of how the Martin family can deal with the addition of Kate to the family. I'm just so angry at the way the show is headed. I want Dixie & Tad together when they find out that Kathy is Kate. Many supposedly dead characters have returned & I request, no demand Dixie return ASAP. Bring Cady back! AMC did a good thing when they brought her back for the Kate storyline, but then they majorly blew it by killing her off before the storyline came to a conclusion.
To add insult to injury AMC further teased their fans in commercials stating one of these two women are still alive, and they showed pictures of Dixie and Babe. I was so hoping it would be Dixie, but it wasn't.
Instead we get treated to Babe living to contiue the drab drama of JR or Josh? Yawn!
There's still so much story for Dixie. She is entrenched in the history of the AMC canvas. I can't believe AMC thought this was a good idea. But then they thought letting Brooke go without an exit storyline was a good idea, so I guess I should have known better.
I'm through watching until AMC decides to correct their mistakes.

i have been watching this soap since i was seven years old. i cant believe such an ongoing story would just be brought to such an unfinished end. i dont understand why the writters would bring her back just to kill her off. i hope that the show suffers terribly due to this. thats no way to treat such a long running character.

No longer do I watch AMC, way too depressing and a total waste of time since you idiot writers killed off Dixie. I now read the scoops & spoilers on soapcentral just to see if there is any mention of her return, but of course there isn't. Just that they are bringing back Babe, big deal whoopee, that's NOT what we the fans want! We want Dixie back and if you can't do that then the HELL with you all! I use to record AMC and looked so forward to watching it when I got home from work. No more, you took that away from me so I'll move on now to something else to watch. I have been devotedd to this show & none others since the beginning --- but this is the first time that you've made me so unhappy with your creative choices --- VERY BAD CHOICE. Dixie's character had substance - the substance of experience. Your younger female characters on the otherhand are so ridiculously self-centered and arrogant (with the exception of Babe) that it's tiring to watch them - Kendall's character in partcular. My wife and I have not missed a day of All My Children since it started. It has been a sorce of many desagreements between us. Dixie has been one of them. We both feel saving Baby with everthing she has done to J.R. and letting Dixie go. Is a major error.

There were a lot of poor writing choices in 2006-2007 by writers of AMC. Everything started sliding way downhill this past summer: 1)Liza is fired/no farewell. 2)now a teenaged Colby's back (unsympathetic & unlikable), with Jack's nephew,and the maids' neice (who we haven't seen since). An ovbious yearly play for younger summer viewers.
3)The over the top constantly irritating back and forth between JR/Babe/Josh.
4)No farewell for Simone OR Erin.
5)Brooke is fired/no farewell.
6)Transgender guy - an okay concept, but a bad mix of horrible acting and writing.
7)Then the long drawn out, about to be consummated reunion of Tad and Dixie ends...in her being FIRED??!!
8)Now Barbara is back?? Another unlikable and unmissed character. Not even in soap opera world does any of this make sense. I am heartsick that my favorite and faithfully watched soap of 32 years is falling apart before my eyes. AMC writers/producers: Your fans aren't stupid. I am so disappointed in the writers of All My Children and the powers that be at ABC Daytime. Over the past few years it's been obvious how far down veteran actors have been on their priority list and this is certainly one of the most blatent instances. Shame on Megan McTavish and the writing staff for USING and RIPPING OFF viewers, specifically the fans of Tad/Dixie for nearly a year with no pay off; dragging them along for the sake of ratings. A character as important as Dixie has so many storyline possibilities with Tad and her children and is involved with such a rich history of the show which has unfortunately faded little by little the past five years in particular.
The writers and producers of All My Children made their worse mistake by firing Cady McClain and killing off the beloved character of Dixie. I have been watching AMC since I was born; my grandmother and mother have watched it from the beginning. We (and the rest of the fans across the world) were SO EXCITED to see Dixie back on the show after waiting for years, and then a year after her return, just as we were about to get the two storylines we have been anticipating for years (the reuniting of Tad and Dixie as a couple, and Kate being returned to them).... THEY KILL HER OFF. This show is supposed to be for THE FANS, and it seems to me like they are the last thing the creators of AMC are paying attention to. We love Cady, we love Dixie, and we love Tad and Dixie. AMC has been getting worse over the months, but the one saving grace was that Dixie was home and our hopes would be fulfilled through Tad, Dixie, and Kate. To say there are no storylines left for them says a lot about the writers' creativity. Is that completely lost upon you people now? There is always something to do with two characters as developed and wonderful as them. BRAINSTORM. It is your JOB, afterall. Cut back on some of the drama, and get back to the more fun side of Tad and Dixie. It is possible, and we all want to see it happen. You might even get some viewers back because of it. AMC, you have failed the fans with this one, and it is up to you to fix it before you lose anymore fans than you already have. Pay more attention to us, or Cady won't be the only one lost -- the whole show will go down. You brought Dimitry back after the fan's were outraged, now bring Dixie back!

I have been an avid and loyal AMC viewer since 1970. I have never felt strongly enough to write in about any storyline before. I am beyond amazed and discusted at death of Dixie.I believe she is as important to this show as the beloved "Erica" We have been built up to this reunion with Tad and their daughter for months and then disrespectfully dropped on our faces. I never thought I would stop watching this show but if Dixie isn't brought back in some fashion, I am seriously considering it.

I started watching AMC in 1983. After 23 years of loyal viewing, I have finally had enough. Getting rid of the older favorites and bringing in teenage caricatures and young newbies to replace them is too much. Once Dixie's heart stopped beating, I stopped watching. Good riddance,
