To lure Cady McClain back and then fire her a year later is deplorable. For the long-time viewers that wanted a Tad/Dixie reunion and then a Kate reunion, this is truly unacceptable. There are so many other characters that could be written out, so why Dixie? AMC is changing, and not for the better.

I've watched AMC for 37 years and this is the worst decision the writers have ever made. Dixie didn't really have a story line that was up to her potential. What a stupid blunder the writers made by killing Dixie. Instead they should have enlarged her exposure. I HOPE that because her coffin was closed, she is recovering and will return to the show in the very near future. If Alexander Cambias Sr. can return from the dead, then so can Dixie. I do not like the way the show has been "gutted" by all these murders...ALSO Enough with the trans-gender story line!
I have watched the Tad & Dixie storyline since its beginning and was so delighted when they back back Dixie. I was very upset when they had her killed in what appeared to be the middle of her storyline. It seems unfair that she will not be there when Tad discovers that Kathy is Kate.
Soaps are losing money, we get it. However, killing Dixie off was stupid. You're losing more viewers than gaining. Plus, w/Passions getting canceled if you keep losing viewers due to the writers idiotic plots AMC could go that way too. SInce Babe's death was faked....how 'bout Dixie's being too. It would be a great way to get us all back?!!??!!

In the short time I have watched All My Children I have grown to love the relationship b/w Dixie and Tad. Dixie has made the show complete. I have currently stopped watching the show due to some of to loosing so many good characters.
I finally started to enjoy AMC again with Dixie back, so you kill her off because she didn't like the way Julia Barr was treated. Just when the story starts getting good, you get rid of the story line that is one of the freshest after a long wait. There are other story lines that you could get rid of that stink totally but not Tad and Dixie. We want to see them find each other and also find their lost daughter. I guess it's too late now. Dixie is gone!!! I just wanted to say that that was super wrong of AMC to do. They brought her back as a heartless, man stealing woman that wasn't even who Dixie in the old days was and just when I started seeing glimpses of the old caring Dixie, they kill her off. All I can say is it was wrong. And if I wasn't so hooked on the show I definitely would not watch it anymore.
I can live with the termination of a character but only if it makes sense for both the actor and the storyline. In this case it seems that AMC got rid of Cady out of pure spite and with no regard to the loyal viewers of the show. Please bring Dixie back for Tad, their's is the only true love story left, Dixie's death, after such a bief return has been the biggest dissapointment ever in the history of All My Children.
This is the biggest mistake All My Children has ever done. They said at one point the producer did it to reduce the cast. That isn't true when they are bringing back old characters like Barbara and Janet. Please bring Dixie back, it is not fair to kill her off before her and Tad found Kate.
