You have got to be kidding! The ONLY reason I tuned back into AMC and you pull the plug on her! I'm done with the horrific writing team at AMC. When she's done, so is my programmed VCR to AMC! I have watched AMC since the first episode, but am getting closer to stopping. Getting rid of Dixie is just about the last straw for me. Get rid of boring Babe and KWAK, etc.

Dixie was one of the most important characters that got me starting to watch AMC. Bianca was the other. Please do not remove her from the show--Dixie is needed & so Cady. The Carey girls can go. They bring down AMC. They drive me nuts when they are on screen. Save Dixie and Cady

I really like Cady and Dixie. She is very good actress. I am upset about she is leaving AMC. When I saw news about leaving, I was sad. Cady is very good person.

As soon as I heard the news that Cady McClain had been let go from AMC, I decided then and there I am quitting the show. I have been SO disappointed with the show lately and frankly, the only thing that kept me watching was Tad and Dixie. If she goes, there will be nothing else to watch. I am sooo sick of Babe and Josh, I could care less about the serial killer, and I especially don't like the new character Zarf/Zoe. Kill Dixie, lose a fan and I am SURE many more.
Getting rid of Dixie is very upsetting. I am so pissed off at the AMC writers that I will turn off AMC. Kill off Babe or Annie - NOT DIXIE! Tad and Dixie have viewers passion about their relationship. It is obvious that AMC writers don't care about what the viewers feel.

When I didn't think that you could shock me even more I was wrong. Getting rid of Cady and Dixie is a slap in the face to us fans. She is a beloved veteran. Getting rid of her makes no sense. I mean after four years of endearing Dixie's loss you bring her back to help find her daughter. You find her daughter only now Dixie will be gone. To have us go through all of this only for her to be killed is ridiculous. It is one of the biggest let down you guys could have done. All of this waiting and it was all for nothing. I am shocked. Cady McClain & Michael Knight are the only ones worth watching on this soap anymore. The writers should be fired, not superb actors. Please keep Cady. What is wrong with AMC? They have gotten rid of too many of the good actors on AMC. There's not going to anyone left worth watching on AMC. I've watched AMC since it's beginning and I'm sorry to say that I'm not going to be watching it anymore after this last firing. Actors that have made this soap will be gone and there will be no reason to watch All My Children. Goodbye. It was great watching for the last 30+ years. But AMC has screwed up by letting all the people go, so I guess We'll let you go too!!

I JUST came back after years. Tad & Dixie getting their child back was the reason! Now it'll never happen. Worse than the baby switch story! I'll just have to quit watching again!
I can't believe that Frons and McT's great answer to solving AMC's problems is to fire such a phenomenal artist as Cady McClain. I have watched the show for 23 years and Tad and Dixie have been my reason to watch since their beginning. This past year I have been forced to painfully watch the other stories on the show just in the hopes of catching a glimpse of Cady McClain. Now they are ruining not only Tad and Dixie's story, but ruining the entire show by killing her off. I will no longer be watching AMC after Cady leaves because I don't see a point to it anymore. If their answer to fixing abismal writing is to fire the true talent that they have then the heads of AMC deserve to watch as their "hard work" gets shredded to pieces. I gaurantee that if they go through with this AMC won't last more than 3 more years (if that). This show is dying fast, the way to fix it is from within, with the writing, not with firing your veteran actors. The vets were the ones with the show during its prime, they are what helped make it good, and what the audience turns on to see. I don't sit and wonder "gee I wonder what Colby will be up to on AMC today?" No, b/c the character is annoying, and there's no real dimension to a 16 year old girl. We want actual people we know and feel for. The beauty of the vets is that we have a relationship with their characters so it's easier for us to feel compassion for them b/c we know what all they've been through. To fire all those people who have helped to mold AMC into what it is today is a huge slap in the face to the actor, the characters, and the fans.
For them to even consider getting rid of Cady McClain, CADY MCCLAIN, seems more like a distasteful dream to me, than the reality. Then again, it is. I definietely want Dixie to stay. I don't think that anything can save the show from getting the axe, if Dixie's gone.
I think killing Dixie off would be the last straw for a bunch of us Baby Boomers, who have watched ABC soaps for years. Kill her off, and you will lose so many fans that will just switch the channel for more than just 1 soap!!!!!!
I'm very angry about this, this is wrong! this is ridiculous! I'm so furiously mad at Frons and McTavish, "What do they have against Vets?" they just don't care! She didn't do anything! As a 36 year old longtime viewer, and part of your "key demographic" I am dismayed that yet another veteran actor from AMC is being let go, particularly one of Emmy-winner Cady McClaio's caliber, to make room for more newbie models who can't act! We don't want pretty faces, we want great stories performed by real actors! The idea that Dixie hasn't been very likable this time around isn't Cady's fault, but the fault of the writers, and things were just starting to improve with the tentative steps towards her reuniting with Tad and Kate, and now she's leaving agian. Dixie's many ties to Pine Valley make her a much needed and valued character, as opposed to say, Sean, Colby or Sidney. Please reconsider!
Yes. I think THE WAY Dixie was brought back to Pine Valley was a bit disappointing. For Dixie to fall in love with Zach. I blame the current writing staff. Dixie and Cady deserved MUCH BETTER.
And now things are picking up for Tad and Dix, that killing her off is the most REGRETFUL and INCONSIDERATE things to do to Ms. McClain personally, LOYAL All My Children fans, and of course her fans.

I have watched AMC for at least 33 years, and was a totally devoted fan. I have been aghast at the departure of our beloved characters like Brooke, Opal, etc., but losing Dixie will be the last straw for me. I won't be watching the show any longer if she is killed off. McTavish has completely lost her mind and has destroyed this show. She has shown utter DISLOYALTY to millions of fans.
TPTB need to remember that boomers, who planned their college schedules areound AMC, are now retiring and coming back. Will there be any beloved characters left? Give up your legacy characters and you have doomed AMC and other soaps.
I have been a fan of AMC for 33 yrs. Its appeal is in the long time cast members, its humor and the topics it has never been afraid to tackle. Tad & Dixie are a favorite couple. Their chemistry is undeniable and I had been waiting for Cady's return and the reunion of Tad & Dixie. My daughter has become a fan as well. The recent firings of beloved cast members shows that the writers are not in touch with their fan base and if the trend continues
AMC will be a show of the past and followers will find their entertainment elsewhere. Big mistake....firing Cady.

I have already posted 2 x, but i wish to post again. Cady is a beautiful, talented, down to earth performer, from what I've seen onscreen and in her blog, and something should've been worked out to keep her around. If there were personal differences, try to work them out. Cady and Dixie were a gem. If it was 'inevitable' that an accidental death occur, why Dixie? I don't like Brooke being dropped the way she was--but since she was already going, why not have her be the accidental victim? Why Dixie? There was so much left for her, Tad, JR, and maybe Kate. Why?? With Passions being canceled, I believe AMC is now last in ratings. This will not help!!
