What is getting really irritating and frustrating right now is YouTube deleting my top favorites one by one. They were some of the most awesome tributes I've ever seen, and the users did have to overcome many difficulties to do it, I can tell. And imagine how hard it must be when someone's worked long and dedicatedly on something only to have it removed without a second thought.
And they DID put a disclaimer up and did NOT make it for profit but to express fandom, and yet YouTube removes it anyway. Why? And what's worse is one of my favorite MV makers, who loves Disney with all her heart and shows it by doing music videos, is now suspended by YouTube. Regardless of her hard work, sincere disclaimers, obvious respect for the copyright owners, and the reasons behind the video. And there are plenty more people out there that have gone through the same thing. Why do you do it?

And I'm afraid what makes no sense at all is that you take off purely fanmade videos that does no harm whatsoever, and even suspend the people that made them, while you leave the uploaded full movies alone.

Just thinking about all those people have gone through to make the videos possible...like how some people made them not only for fandom, but also because they would like to dedicate it to a long-lost friend or something. No disrespect, but it sickens me to think that YouTube treats it like just a bug to flick off your screen.

With all due respect, this isn't fair. If you continue to do this, YouTube, with the ongoing deleting this and that, here and there, you'll end up losing a lot. Yep, doing this makes there more to be lost than there is to be gained. You'll lose your attention-catching videos that make people enjoy this website so much, and by suspending/deleting accounts, you're losing more chances of giving this website more attention. And keep going on like this, and YouTube's popularity will be near extinct. Then YouTube will be pretty much nothing without its members or videos. Or with very little members and scarce videos.

So, I say if we can come to an agreement, it'll be like this: if a member wants to post up a video, he/she must put up a firm disclaimer and must not gain any profit from it. If, however, the video will offend the copyright owners (though most videos are fanwork and fanwork is meant to give tribute to the copyright owners)or causes threats and fights amongst the members, or if it's completely pointless, then by all means, remove it. Suspend/delete an account only when truly necessary. Like, what did the member do wrong? If it's just making videos, please, just let the account live. And also, please allow past fanmade videos and past accounts that were deleted only because of this matter come back.

Thanks for listening. Please at least really, deeply, think about it. The way you're cutting off all these poor accounts and their videos makes all of us users back at YouTube very depressed.

EDIT: Might I add one more thing, FYI, YouTube, the majority of the videos we make (that you delete) are meant to COMPLIMENT and even ADVERTIZE for the copyright owners. [isn't it obvous?] I mean think about it: why would we make them in the first place? Don't you realize we put so much CARE and EFFORT we put into our work? Don't you read the DISCLAIMERS we put up for your notice? Don't you even give them a CHANCE?
(sorry if I sound like I'm losing my temper here, but the way you're treating us will no doubt arouse anger). PLEASE take it into your consideration that we mean no harm! You should get someone's story before caling them guilty and throwing them in jail, just like you should understand our points of view before you delete!

I support this petition. :D I\'ve had plenty of school projects that I have had tried to upload that are deleted because of supposed copyright infringment from the music.

It isn\'t just YouTube who is deleting the videos, the companies who \"own\" the content are the people who are forcing YouTube to delete the videos and suspend accounts. It doesn\'t make sense to block a video because it has a song as the audio content that is really popular and people get in trouble for making music videos. I used to make music videos, but I don\'t anymore because I don\'t want to get suspended again. I used to enjoy what I did but what\'s the use of making the music videos anymore if I can\'t share them on YouTube?

I support this petition. I enjoy watching fan-made Cars videos, but the saddest thing is that YouTube deletes them. I've been angry with them for a long time and I'm so happy I found this.

The subject matter which this user has traversed is one which I not only agree with, but also material that I fully and whole-heartedly support. YouTube was founded upon dedication, commitment, and a fondness for videos of all genres, be them fan-made, official, or personal. Unless an individual is seriously crossing the line of copyright infringement, I believe that any fan, regardless of their age, gender, racial status, beliefs, etc... should have the right to upload videos that play upon, support, advertise, and/or pay tribute to such subjects as novels, companies, films (live-action and non), and many others. Why deprive these individuals of these rights when this website was made for them to exercise their fandom in the first place?

I made my vids because I love those things, I used for them. Not the best vids but I made it to show my passion to my friends and to the world.

I support this petition. There was a hilarious video series with parts from movies (except it showed Jak and Daxter characters)that has no sound because, "This soundtrack is not authorized." >:( Meh.

I support this petition. They're doing the same to ones I've made now, too. Blocking ones that have been on for ages, and then some that have only just been uploaded and no one has even had a chance to see. Ruining the very thing Youtube was worth going for in the first place. Stupid.

STOP SCREWING WITH US, YOUTUBE. Seriously, all of my videos are protected underneath the 1976 copyright act, as they are parodies/satires based off other people's works. All my videos were made without the intent of infringement for non-profit purposes in accordance with the "Fair Use" clause. Absolutely NO money was made in their production and creation. STOP DELETING FANVIDS, YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW. Seriously, my Fanvids ended up in a deleting crossfire. The casualities? Four videos deleted and my most popular video muted. STOP. IT. You are mot helping yourselves here, Youtube.

We aren't making any profit off our videos! If anything, it's giving music and movies free advertising! We bought all of the materials (including CDs and DVD's) to make our videos, so we aren't stealing anything! We're just fans being creative!!!
