This picture from an old TV guide says: Luke's just a "friend." So why does she care who he dates?

I can see it all now...: Luke's just her fiancée. So why does she care that he has an 11 year old illigitamate daughter named April with another woman (who he had a one night stand with), and that this daughter is a genius trying to (without a scientist's help) prove that Luke's DNA matches her own?

That slides right off the tongue, doesn't it? Well, as crazy as the plot line sounds (that's because it is crazy!!!), that's what a spoiler site says is going to happen toward the end of this season. I've also heard that Scott Patterson (a.k.a. Luke Danes) may not be signing on for the 7th season. Sadly, we already know that Luke and Lorelai will not have the wedding this season, and, if he just mysteriously disappears off the face of the planet, they may never have it. Of course, we all know that he won't mysteriously disappear off the face of the planet if Scott doesn't sign on; instead, the show will be cancelled. Either way, our favorite couple will never get married.

Now, whoever pitched this insane idea may be too far gone to convince, but why not at least TRY to knock some sense into the writers who we used to love so much? Please sign this petition, and help us tell them that they're going to lose a lot of viewers if they keep going in the direction they're headed - toward a soap opera.
