I was taking my little boy to the beach everyday - I am disgusted that it is going to be closed to the general public - very sad and a big mistake. I really feel sorry for all the local Emiratis who live nearby who can not afford hotel prices.
The great cities of this World protect places for their public. Keep Dubai great and protect its residents rights! Keep right of access to this beach public.
why are you closing the beach down this is what is so bad about dubai you don't need anymore money and we the people prefer things that are free but still wonderful
you don't see the beaches of australia lined with major hotels and developments,
taking control of tourism . You only see people from all walks of life enjoying the natural beauty with their children playing freely on the beach.Generations of surfers and locals sharing memories with their kids. It is becoming very difficult to enjoy the simple pleasures of Dubai which are now fading way too fast.
I don't think this will change the minds of a government that values profit over human rights (labourers), let alone the environment. Nonetheless it is good to see this form of signature protest in the UAE.
Please Dubai Government dont take the publics beach it was one of the reasons we came here to live. We visited 3 years ago and the beach and the warm waters to swim in compared to Scotland were one of the reasons we came here. The tourists want these things not more shops, they can get these back home.
Not only is Jumeirah Beach a fantastic place to go for us that live in Dubai. It's a brilliant showcase for the tourists as well. I'm afraid that the desire for short term profit will once again prove to be a major mistake for Dubai.
One of the few 'free' activities we can do in Dubai! Don't take it away! Please leave something nice for the people who are contributing to the growth of Dubai!
For three years I visitrd this beach very regularly. It was a meeting place, a safe place for children and Families and one of the most peaceful spots in Dubai.Keep the open access and please do not take away yet another choice for people who can not afford clun prices
Majority of tourists who come to Dubai on sightseeing ALWAYS come to this stretch of pure unspoilt beach. A concrete block will steal its charm. Just another attempt at milking money out of beachfront ppty ! Save Jumeirah Beach
The only place i visit regularly with friends and family to unwind walk and take in the view. Please listen to the residents of this City from all walks of life who enjoy the simplicity and tranquility of the open beaches. Amenities may well be needed but not the grose development that seems to be taking place.
The three Palm Developments are creating hundreds of miles of new beaches. Jumeirah Beach is one of the only natural beaches left for the public and must be preserved otherwise it is yet more proof that in Dubai profit comes before people.
having lived here for the past 6 years we have had great pleasure using the beach kids playing at the weekends, walking to fight the flab and a great place to relax in a city that is being eaten up by greed. A city like Dubai needs to keep a small amount of it's natural beauty for the futue. Would the Australians build on Bondie Beach???
It is all about LIFESTYLE!Let our kids have memories from quality time on a natural beach!Stop this greedy "everything turns into money" politics.I am outta here if..
Is nothing sacred in this place? Selling off public beaches is more proof that money comes ahead of everything else. From parking meters outside of apartments, 'public' beaches sold off for private interests and now we hear about toll roads. Where will it end. Dubai is built on the skills and efforts of expatriates. GUYS - if you take away the things that make it tolerable, why would we bother? Who will want to come? Time to go I think.
This is the worst decision Dubai has ever made and if they are not careful they will ruin this city and no tourists will want to come anymore and we'll see how that affects them ! Umm Suqeim is the nicest beach in Dubai why spoil just to build more ugly towers . . haven't we got enough already. It's all about making more and more money but the worm will turn !
This needs to be fought 100%. We're not all members of exclusive & expensive beach clubs, nor should we be forced to be. It's a great beach - leave it alone!
Please don't take this beach away from the public. It a beautiful beach used by all walks of life. Everythin in Dubai revolves around money - why take away one of the very few things that is free.
This is the final straw and shows the lengths that greed will go and how far Nakheel ignores the people of Dubai by taking away oneof the last spots of relaxation for the hard working Dubaites for very expensive house for a few people that affrod them and of which most will be non residents who have done nothing to help build Dubai. IT MUST BE STOPED, before all us workesr walk out.
The balance between reasonable development and public access to free leisure space is one that hits all developing cities. Dubai had a unique opportunity to demonstrate a gentler approach, which it has failed to do so far. This development clearly states it is not up to the challenge.
