I took my class of year 4 boys to this beach today. They had a whale of a time - excuse the pun!- a stunning day on a stunning beach. Please don't take this away.
When will the building stop? Dubai is enough of a building site as it is. There is no need for more shops/villas/hotels/malls /restaurants/overpriced apartments. I suppose in 10 years we will have 'Heritage beach city' made for us at HUGE cost.
Save the beach! Look at what is happening, leave it alone, it is NATURE! Silly people you are already constructing a million other things, and now you have used up space and need the beach? COME ON!

Dear Dubai ruler, Please, please don't make Dubai another Costa del Sol. Jumeirah is the only thing you have. Give it away, and 20 years down the road, you'll have to pay 100 times to get it back.
I strongly disagree with this silly idea of destroying JB as my weekend is not complete if I didnt have a chance to tamper at the Jumeirah beach waters. It is very relaxing to have an environment like this so please do not take it away from us. This are little things which makes us enjoy Dubai with the never ending rent increase and traffic everywhere you turn.
i think everybody knows that when you tamper with nature too much, even the best-laid plan will soon backfire and effects can be irreversible.
we all know Dubai is a nice country to be in--hopefully, we won't forget the reasons why it was made so.
Jumeirah Beach is for Everyone
Holiday in Dubai, invest and live in Dubai - a sea-side paradise of white beaches and blue sea. Unfortunately you can only access these if you are rich - regardless whether you are a resident local, expat or visitor.
The nicest thing about that area is that it's relatively "OK" traffic-wise, which makes it a place you want to head to to unwind and relax.. with a new development, traffic would be as terrible as anywhere else...
Duabi should be thinking of its image and try to be more environment friendly. The whole world is waiting to see the mistakes Dubai is making. Destroying the only stretch of beach which remains fairly free would seriously damage Dubai's image.
The announcement of the closure of Jumeirah public beach has changed my perception of Dubai. The decision is a BIG mistake.
But should we be surprised? Money and greed rule here, and it is a taste of things to come, I am afraid
It's not the malls, it's not the stylish hotels, it's the simple "natural" places that apeal me most in Dubai and which become more and more scare and valuable. But apparently these are deliberately destined to disappear altogether.Recurring and irreversible mistakes made in Europe before and today much regretted. Why can at least rich Dubai not act smarter?
It's ridiculous! They derlibretly build these Plam Islands for more coastline, so why do they feel the need to take away this bit of coast, which so many people use? Less people will be ablt to use the new constrution that they'll be building, that I'm sure of, as it'll be a members only beach or private propety!
Come on! We all know that Dubai will just fall apart, just look at the roads with the traffic! And with all these new apartments etc, they plan to double the number of cars on the road AT LEAST! So what's the point of building for money!
Well the oil is running out, so they're building a future for their children, who will have no oil to sell....but what does a future need to thrive? A happy city! Dubai will have neathier if they carry on like this!
Okay rant over,
Just please don't destroy more beach and natural coastline, I haven't even started on Dubai's effect on nature yet!
Well, I have taken everyone who came from Jordan to visit Dubai to Jumairah beatch as it is one of the most charming places in Dubai, please Dubai, lets have a at least one free great place to relife at.
The beach belongs to us! We have so little of it left already. If it is destroyed then what will be left? It is the only place that has been left untouched...lets leave it that way
What's going to be left here? artificial constuctions and desert... Long term this isnt good for Dubai - Can't the developers and planners in this city see that?
One of the reasons for living in a coastal city is to enjoy the proximity to the beach. How are we going to do this when there is no beach left? The government need to seriously re-think their attitude! What they don't realise is that there is a total range of people living here in Dubai, from the mega-rich to the out-right poor. The majority of the population falls into the middle to lower range of this scale, and it is this group of people who are working hard to help turn Dubai into the city the government want. Most of us can not afford to pay an extortionate yearly membership for a pretentious beach club, instead we enjoy the community of the public beaches, or small inexpensive relaxed members clubs. But if the goverment continutally take away these places (Dubai Water Ski Club, Jebal Ali Sailing Club, the PUBLIC beaches!) to make way for more extortionate, pretentious beach clubs and developments, then we will start leaving. When we leave, the city will fall apart, and all the money they have invested for all the rich folk, will disappear! Then what will happen? With all this money Dubai has, can't they employ some decent town planners to explain this to them?!? Get a grip, Dubai, or you will loose your charm!
Another project where we will be able soon to read "we build the future for you" Which future & for who? I guess speculators outside DXB who will never see their investments, too busy they are to re sell them with a premium. What about us, the common people living in Dubai? Give us a break for a change and let us enjoy the few places left without cranes....
this is outrageous!! there are only so many things the youth of dubai can do to pass time here without spending lots of money. we arent allowed jobs, and not all of our parents have the means to let us go out to malls every weekend. The beach has become a place of refuge for those teens and familys who dont want to go to the mall and movies or expensive resteraunts every weekend. The beaches are part of dubais natural heritage and shouldnt be sold.
Not only will the proposed development ruin just about the only tranquil place left in Dubai, it will also destroy the best view of one of the world's most beautiful buildings - The Burj Al Arab. Is this really what the Government of Dubai wants? Please..reconsider and protect what is beautiful.
