The beach is a place of natural beauty and should be free for all. My children would be devastated. Dubai will no longer be Dubai without its public beach areas. Shame on you!
these beaches are the only places where a group of friends who arent members of fancy resorts can go and chill out on the without having to drive out of town for an hour and a half....slowly everything that is appreciated most by people in dubai is being taken away and destroyed. dont do it! leave the beaches alone!
Dubai is a first class destination that unfortunately is seeing some second class decision making being made by the power brokers that seem to want to "Protect Their Country". By taking away yet more of what is great about Dubai and turning it into yet more money making and greed induced ventures Dubai will lose a lot of goodwill and positive feedback from the very people that attract tourism here in the first place, it's residents. Save the beach and start thinking about other methods to reward your City's ture life blood, the Residents.
Help! Don't take all the beaches away from us!!!! And what will the tourist come for????!!!!!! What's the point of Dubai being at the sea if there's no beaches to see the sea from??
Just think now another wonderful Dubai ad agency gets to come up with another crap slogan about living the life you've always dreamed of on the beach. Oh sorry correction there is no beach!
Growth of Dubai lies not only in attaching visitors from abroad but also taking care of residents living in Dubai who are directly responsible for its properity.
When I came to Dubai, I was told that the people behind the “Dubai miracle”
are great visionaries. Its now pretty obvious, its pure greed.
Please, save the last beach in Dubai!
Please leave this lovely piece of beach alone - is there going to be anywhere we can enjoy the natural beauty of Dubai without a 5 star attached to it!
This beach has gone from somewhere where anyone and everyone (animals too) were welcome, to now not even being turned into a retreat for those with too much money and zero taste. Don't take away one of the only remaining natural areas of Dubai!!
Now this is getting beyond the point of sick. I'm a keen kitesurfer and Wollongong kite beach looks set for closure soon as well. As it stands, we aren't allowed to kite there on Friday's and had to kite at Jebal Ali. NOW EVEN JEBAL ALI IS CLOSED OFF!!!! The government had better stop this madness or there'll be a lot of people leaving and even less visitors. A lot of them come for the Sun, Sea and Sand, well at this rate the tourists will only have the bloody desert to visit for the Sand!!!
On this unsustainable construction trend, in a couple of years down the line people will be fed up with Dubai and WILL move out. The quality of life is still Dubai's strongest selling point. Keep it this way. Otherwise Dubai will eventually become a ghost city overcrowded with abandoned luxury hotels.
Privatizing the last remaining beach is a despicable and souless act as many have stated simply to line the pockets of the few. It has already been noticed by many that, due to the extravagant offshore construction projects, the jellyfish have swarmed to the beaches with onshore winds and have become trapped. There has been absolutely no forethought as to how these projects impact the environment. The environment is one thing, but the local government doesn't have the capacity to absorb a complex thought process such as a free and open public beach which the all members of the community utilize to make their lives somewhat bearable between working long hours and long hours in traffic due to poor roadway infrastructure. Taking away the last remaining beach will only deduct another motivation to living in Dubai, or attracting the qualified expat population who have proven to be the backbone for all of the growth that Dubai has seen. Please preserve the beach.
Yet another example of the miss understanding by Dubai regarding tourism. Not everyone wishes to go to the next Biggest Shopping Mall or Tallest Building. The people who are building your city need to be able to enjoy a certain quality of family life. The simple things in life...........understand ??
Enough constructions, enough with sucking money out of the residents, who are actually paying to make Dubai THE happening place. What's next? They'll be charging us for the oxygen we breathe?
Taking the beach is really short term planning. As Expat we have the option of leaving when we do not like it here any more, but for the Emiratis I feel sorry.
We can't believe this is happening, please stop this now. It's the only place we can go as we are not beach club members and think of the tourists who will be put off by this closure. It's madness!!!
Dubai needs to start being more strategic in it's planning approach and start designating parts of the coastline as public beach only-where planning permission will not be granted to developers.
There are less and less reasons for staying in Dubai. The beaches are one of the only things natural about this area and will be a huge loss to most for the benifit of a few!
It's a shame!! that beach is abig turist attraction, its the place were i rode my first wave that hooked me up in to the surfing world, which now is my lifestyle! were are we gonna go from now?
I am concerned that our Dubai beaches; a natural resource, are becoming inaccessible to the public. Don't let a privileged few take what belongs to everyone. Once the beaches have been privately developed, the chance to reclaim them is lost for ever. In Dubai today, a few public beaches that belong to all, are being sacrificed for the benefit of a few private property owners. If you use our beaches for swimming, fishing, jogging, surfing, diving and you vote, please raise your voice and forward this link to as many as p ossible. OUR beaches should provide a FREE pleasurable, recreational experience to its users at large; not the priviledged few.
Developing some of the beach front is great investment for Dubai's future. But to have no public beach at all would be a mistake which would make Dubai less attractive to both residents and tourists. There needs to be a balance between developed private beach front and the freedom and beauty of the natural Dubai beaches.
greed gets us nowhere.......its true that All developed and European countries have beaches that are free, clean
> and accessible to all, it promotes a good culture and community
Well, the government has again made it clear that the people of Dubai matter not a jot. Apparently we are not here for lifestyle, we are here to make money only. Just another example of the greed and "biggest is best" freudian philosophy of the place. You want Dubai to be a nice place to live? Give the residents something to do instead of closing beaches, knocking down the Country Club, closing JASC, etc. This place is already soulless. Now it's morally vacant too. Leave the beach alone.
If the government start to cut back on the small pleasures of Dubai purely for greed, rather than concentrating on the real issues, like the horendous traffic/maniac drivers and the increase in crime, then people will start to leave and won't remember this country for it's grand lifestyle, but for it's greed and disasterous infrastructure.
Every little bit of the Dubai which we loved is being swallowed up by development. Where are the kids(locals and expats) going to go and collect shells or paddle in the sea - not everyone can afford to join a club!
