Aren't you (Zabeel Investment) aware of H.H Shaikh Mohd Bin Rashid Al Maktoum words. if you are not let me repeat it for you "WE WANT OUR PEOPLE TO LIVE THE WAY WE LIVE"
Sometimes it's just necessary to get away from places that were designed to cater to your every want and need. Sometimes you just don't want any service or hospitality. Sometimes you just want to reconnect with something real. Sometimes what the earth provides is enough.
There is no GLOBAL VISION in term of construction. Dubai is built caothically and this the prove it is developed too fast. The consequence: the quality of life is poor and the city has NO SOUL at all. When we look too forward, we miss the essential: the present.
Somany childhood memories are attached to jumairah beach still remember the clean beaches and the sky blue waves please leave it alone atleast I will have something to show my children and grandchildren something they will relate to as emaraties, nothing is left for us UAE locals "emaraties" so KEEP JUMAIRAH AWAY FROM YOUR FUTURE PLANS! we dont need more civilazation nor modernity we are very civelized by nature we dont need building, fancy houses, luxurious hotels to say that.
I learned a lot about their plans: reclaim land and make a big peninsula, that will push the sea to at least 1.5 mile away from the current shore.
Next to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, there will be an extension of the hotel’s marina.
The houses that will be sold on this peninsula will be villas and some 3 storeys buildings.
I discussed with UAE national friends of mine who live in Jumeira 5 (Um Seqim 2) since 2 generations: they are absolutely revolted by the project, but the government offered some of them to relocate to another place in Dubai, and the entire area will be destroyed (starting with old villas). Fences will be put on the sea side of Jumeira beach road, and all this area will become a restricted area with security for foreigners and tourists.
The government will manage all the villas in the area, that will become a closed compound.
This beach developpment is not only a problem for the tourists and the expats, who have the choice to go back home, but it is above all a problem for the UAE nationals who were born here, some of them as fishermen.
Dubai is a luxury tourism destination. Space and freedom is luxury, not massive concrete buildings. If you make a second Singapore or other FakeCity, the cheap mass turism will still come but the richer people will stay away. Look at Mallorca in Spain where the residents just cannot stand bargain mass tourism anymore and go on the streets. Nature is an economically valueable good - even if it only seems to be Sand!
What do you think of yourselves (zabeel investments), Is any one of you got little bit of time to really think off. Do me a favour change your title from developer to nature destroyer.
The beach marine edge is very dynamic, yet fragile. Modify it, and you can pay a big price---oh that’s right Dubai has already messed with most of its waterfront already—lets see what the price is.
So leave one spot so we can remember what the waters edge was supposed to be.
The beach was Dubai’s number 1 asset for free - without any improvement. But the urbanizing architects felt compelled to mess with the waters edge too; that it was not good enough as it was, and that only the architects in their infinite wisdom and capabilities could improve god’s work-drawing plan views of stars, butterflies, or trees, with hard urban edge seawalls.
And the developers turn out to be just people that happen to have money, with no knowledge of nature or culture, no sense of responsibility to their developments or greater Dubai. In their knowledge vacuum, they apply the trade they know; greed.
Now Dubai thinks that they are so good at waterfront development, they are exporting this approach to the rest of the gulf and beyond.
You can have your development and nature too, if you know enough to leave certain places alone. The beach is one.
Dubai has become the example of greed. They never have enough, need always more. Hope this will not end like a soap bell, you prick in it's all gone. Good luck to Dubai. I rather chose other destinations .. and there are plenty in this world.
Over engineering the environment is not an intelligent decision in attracting the needed tourist for this country, the coast needs to be accessible for all to enjoy and not at a price to anyone, that's a future to look forward to.
15 Years ago I walked all the way from Dubai Drydocks to Chicago Beach Hotel (now Jumeirah Beach Hotel) more or less unhindered. It was one of the best beaches in this region. Now almost all gone, it would be a shame to lose this stretch as well.
Being a coastal region is wht drew me to Dubai and for years I could use the beaches freely. I'm all for development but what about free choice? PLEASE leave some beach undeveloped for those who choose to use it in it's natural form.
Remember sending sms to our relatives and friends in Europe while sitting at the beautiful white beach to make them jealous! Well soon nothing to be jealous about anymore. What a pity, but what a great city!
What a shame that yet again Dubai is being ruined by yet more building work, that doesn't really need to be done. It's about the only beautiful thing left in Dubai that you don't have to pay for!!!!
Building on the beach will spoil a very beautiful area that provides so much for so many. It also adds to the view for guests at The Burj and JBH. The Palm already looks like "Benidorm", dont do the same in Jumeirah!
Very sad ! cant they leave something? that beach is beautiful and untouched. Already there isn't places where we can walk freely .. why the beach who is the only place belonging to everyone ????????????
The beaches are a haven for free activities. Why would you take away one of the things that attrracts many people here in the first place! Dont do it!!!!!
I thought that Dubai is a tourismus friendly city, but I am sure that less tourists will come to see the city if there is no public beach where you can go for a walk anymore.
First you stopped us taking our dogs to any of the beaches and now this! Please do us and yourselves (the government) a favour and preserve a least a little bit of what used to be a beautiful country instead of turning the whole place into a concrete jungle!
That beach is beautiful, the only thing that hasn't been commercialized yet apart from the deserts. I love taking long walks there and it's an excellent spot for photography. The only thing left that we can do without spending money is now being taken away from us. This is unjust and unfair!
The Dubai government is becoming greedy by milking the expat population. They are altering the shape of the coast...how is this going to impact the long term outlook of the environment!!!
The development will drastically change the peaceful surrounding residential community. The beauty of nature and Arab (UAE) history and cultural will be lost too.
