are they becoming crazy ?
They can also build a WallMart on that beach, and destroy the creek for the subway ! No more nature in Dubai is the new philosophy...
it time to stand up.. we dont all have the money to pay for private beaches. dubai needs to have people with saying and opinions.. jumeirah beach needs to live!
What can I say, I have lived in Dubai for 17 years and have slowly watched in turn from a place of natural beauty with a real sense of of community to a concrete jungle where nobody has time for each other. Even though we are members of a private beach club club, our preference is always to go to the public jumeriah beach because of its natural beauty and lack of pretension. Dubai is really becoming a bit of a joke now. Why not look after and preserve all you have i.e. beaches, old single storey villas with original windtowers instead of knocking them down and building psuedo ones. Long gone are the days of an afternoon bbq of the old beach at the 'black palace'
This beautiful beach is a free haven for everyone to enjoy. It should remain that way. We need somewhere to go to enjoy the sand and sea and to relax. There's hardly anywhere left now.
It is about time we all stand up for our basic rights to the little bit of nature left here. I beleive most people are already quite fed up with the rate of urbanization and airconditioned air. The little bit of natural (peacful) beach left must be left alone for the residennts of the UAE to enjoy. All over the world (touristic destinations) governments leave beach access open to the public as an attraction. Here they close off the beached for the "rich only...!?" Not fair - poor town planning...!
This beach is the only beach in Dubai were people can enjoy the sea and sun. Every other country in the world which has a beach keeps it public. Infact in most countries it is illegal to close the beach for any beach user even if the government builds a five star hotel right on the sea, they cant close the beach to the public. And also for us surfers this is the only beach which gets good waves because all the other beaches are blocked by islands.
Jumeirah beach was a place to relax and appreciate what little of nature we have left to enjoy in Dubai. To experience anything dealing with nature in this country costs alot of money and it was wonderful to know that we could spend quality time on this beach with no expense incurred. Why does everything have to be about money, why can't the ordinary peple of Dubai enjoy the pleasure of access to a beach that has been a part of many peoples lives. Please do not close to the beach to the public...it will have a devestating effect on many people.
Dubai really need its public beach in Jumeirah. Ihope the government makes the right decision tomake Dubai a real home city for everyone and tokeep and even great more public beaches
If the beaches get closed this city will loose one of its main qualities. We walk on this beach regularly, it helps destress from the hectic life. If this would not be here I think people will start thinking of living here...or not!
Dubai really need its public beach in Jumeirah. I hope the government makes the right decision to make Dubai a real home city for everyone and to keep and even great more public beaches.
I have Lived in Dubai for all my life and Grew up on the beach.
They are not only destroying the beaches with all these developments, but are now taking one of the best public beaches away, I am totally against this and think it should be stopped as soon as possible.
Considering ecological concerns, as well as from a heritage preservation point of view, this iconic public beach beneath the Burj al Arab should not be destroyed. An open beach, opposite the Um Suqiem Children's Park is important to the Emirati community who were raised in the neighborhood, as well as to expats and tourists. It is a mistake to believe that the government and people of Dubai would profit more from the residential development of this beach than from its enhancement of quality of life and its natural beauty.
no way! theyre not closing it down.. its not like i go to it much, but its fun when ur with a group of friends u get to enjoy ur day playing volleyball, soccer, there are beds, and its safe! im so signing this petition!
This is the oldest public beach in Dubai and the only place in the world after Dubai Int Airport , where I have come across such blend of cultures meeting at one place. Closing this would certainly be erasing a popular landmark in Dubai.
I suppose the govt will definitely consider this petition.
ALL THE BEST! to save this beach
Dubai is already a cement world and still growing people who have lived here for more than half of there lives have the right to take something although UAE is a tax free country but this country has taken alot in name of fee so we have the right to say please leave something for us and our children.
I strongly believe that this project will not only jeopardize the well being of the people living in Dubai but also many future investments into this country. For instance, I’ll definitely reconsider mine! Who needs to plan one’s future in a country with no life!
This country is not all about tourists. The people who have lived here most of their lives should not have to pay ridiculously high prices to use the hotels beaches!!! Save our beaches please.....Give the residents something back!
There are other ways to make money off a beach - without selling it off to a private hotel... Public beaches and parks are needed by EVERY city - so why shoudl Dubai look at it differently?
The is crazy..the people of Dubai have no where to go swiming anymore...Our quality of life here is going down day by day ..i know this since i have grwon up here and lived my whole life here..life used to bee good a simple..now its only for the rich..All we want is to enjoy the beautiful sun that dubai has to offer at the beach..where will we go if you close down everything beautiful in this country?
