I just cancelled my appartment investment in the Palm (Tiara residence from ASTECO and Zabeel). I will not buy in a city that may close the beach in front of the appartment I bought for 1M USD
Please save our Beach. The reason we pay high rents in Jumeirah is so we have the benefit of taking a short stroll in the cooler months and hanging out on the beach with a few friends, a good book or even some good music. It's our escapism from the Dubai rat race.
Dubai is becoming a big joke..My family has just gone through having to leave the Jumeirah Beach Club after they decided to shut it down to make a bigger resort and so we started going to the public beaches and to tell the truth they're much nicer. But now the greedy property developers have even decided to take that away. Don't the residents get to have a say??
You know, the beach is a happy place,
cause its where you can have fun.
You can be around family,
and never have to run.
You can just sit on the beach,
and enjoy the sun!
Please save the beach!
One of Dubai's few natural beauties is the beach. It’s a place where everyone can retreat from their work and worries. For the sake of Dubai’s hard working citizens, please leave it alone.
For all my friends expatriates, who've been ousted out of the Jumeirah beach Club and go kite-surfing on this beach, please don't close the last open beach in Dubai!!!
This will be the last straw for many expatriates. I used to have memberships for beach clubs in the 20 years that I have lived here but in the last 2 years, EVERYTHING HAS BECOME ONE BIG RIP OFF either with extortionate joining fees or ridiculous prices in the beach clubs. We actually drive to the East Coast for a day out where you can enjoy the scenery, swimming, snorkellind and diving. Dubai is one big mess. I have property on the "8th Wonder of the World" but guess what, that's going up for sale as that is another joke. I would have said from "start to finish" but again greed has overtaken and who knows when that farce will be finished !!!!
Some of the best things in life are simple, natural with no hint of human interference. Leave the beaches alone for people to enjoy its natural beauty!
First, they closed our Jumeirah Beach Club,now they are closing the Jumeirah public beach... Are we gonnna have to go to RAK, Fujairah or AD for the week-ends ?
Thsi is absolutely ridiculous to close these beaches.I think municipality has to work on nice food outlets on the coast line and rent them out so it butifies the ara as well as public can still use the only open beach left in great sun city of DUBAI..!!!!!!
One of the best things about Australia is that no-one gets to hog the sea view and built on the beach. This space is for everyone and is used by all. Please think very carefully before depriving many people of a place to relax, socialise and exercise. Have you not seen all the beer bellies?!!!
Many of Dubai's residents cannot afford to take their children to expensive beach clubs each weekend. Please leave us this one beautiful resource to enjoy with our families.
Less than a decade a go, Dubai had a beautiful coast-line enjoyed by community and visitors alike, and gave the city a beautiful, relaxed and open atmosphere. Now much of it, together with the view of open sea, disappeared behind walls and high rise buildings in the name of progress. Tourists and the local community are more charmed by the beauty and accessibility of the open beaches than the ugly concrete that replaced them. Closure of the beach is selfish thoughtless, short sighted, and anti social and the responsible authority should see it stopped.
Dubai is becoming more of a 'concrete jungle' - to take away yet another beach would be very sad and unfair to the residents of Dubai, as well as the many tourists.
I am appalled having just returned from Muscat where I rode horseback along miles of beautiful beach, it would be awful to do this to the people of Dubai
Going to the beach is one of the very few things that many young children truly look forward to on the weekend. Taking the public beaches away, would result in kids staying indoors and in front of the tellies even more than now…. Surely “Dubai” is capable or realising the need of keeping some beaches open to the public. !!
The Jumeirah beach should remain open to the public and not become another preserve of the wealthy and elite. The majority of those working here do so under extremely demanding circumstances, and as a result the number of people suffering from fatigue and depression is on the rise; the beach is one of the only free places to relax, and as such one of the only free antidotes to stress available to the city’s residents. As we don’t pay direct PAYE or equivalent tax here, I could understand nominal charges being applied for its use and municipal upkeep. However, to develop the entire stretch, not provide a substitute and to blatantly neglect the needs of the resident community who effectively keep the country going and moving forward, would be to make a grave error of judgement. I believe that this will further contribute to people’s decisions to leave Dubai and look for a better quality of life elsewhere…
When I heard on the radio that the only public beach in Dxb - Jumeirah beach is going to be closed & build on, I actually hoped that someone will start this petition! Who ever did that THANK YOU! We spend nearly every Fri. (& sometimes even Sat.) on the beach, as that is one of the few options we only have (appart from Malls & pubs). Pls do not take that away?!

Jumeriah beach is one of the few places where all nationalities get to mix freely, it would be a big loss to multicultural Dubai were this to be removed

That beach is one of the few natural getawats for those who live here... Dont crap it up by turning it into a construction zone. We see enough of that throughout the week. Save The Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
