everything that is sentimental and beautiful and part of the community in dubai will soon be gone...and any unadulterated environment with it...HUGE SHAME.
I was brought up here--and whenever I am back in Dubai I always make it a point to go for a swim down at the beach even on the hottest of the summer days---this is what makes Dubai so special to me...
I know...this make a hotel but floating in the sky....That is how crazy it is closing off the beaches to the public....one positive is that the pervs will have to look somewhere else...you know who you are!!
They are slowly taking away all the things that make Dubai bearable to live in for sane, down to earth people. Let's hope the powers that be realise that destrying safe, public places and replacing them with 5 star resorts does not constitute a developing and civilised nation . . just a short sighted, greedy one.
I have lived in Dubai for ten years now and public beaches have been a part of that experience. It is not mandatory that very piece of beach front property has to be turned into Al Nakheel's private real estate park. People in Dubai clearly want and need these public beaches, whether you're a local or an expatriate. What is a toutist city without beaches?
Weall understand and see the business mechanims behind this but like most part of the world the general pop are provided with an alternative BEFORE taking one away and NOT vice versa.
The U.A.E government is working in the right direction. However, it must not lose track of the very few original milestones the citezens of the U.AE have learned to grow up around and appriciate.
Dubai is fast loosing its soul with every tree and beach front it destroys to replace with new development and artificial landscape. Losing the public beaches is another nail in the coffin. PLease do not allow this to happen, and keep the beach spirit alive.
Why is it that the people with more money than most want to take something else away from the general public in Dubai. They should stop decimating the environment
This beach has been enjoyed by locals, expatriates and vistors for decades and is one of Dubai's last and best natural assets. Please leave it as it is.
Nothing is sacred. Everything is close to being "members only" already and this will serve to confirm that everything that we thought was for the pleasure of the public is for sale if the price is right.
With the pace of everything here we must not look back and regret a decision to loose a natural spot such as this. It is tha natural areas that make cities breathe. Let nature be natural.
In a city where everything is fast turning aritifical, let's at least spare one natural beauty.
Or we may end up taking the flight to show our children a simple phenomenon called the beach!!!
There's few of the simple pleasures left in Dubai, only those a large amount of money can buy.Won't someone have some humanity and preserve something for us all on an equal status.
When first I came to Dubai I was told the locals were lazy, greedy, selfish and dishonest.
I have given them the benefit of the doubt. But they are. DO NOT STEAL THE BEACH FOR GREED.
My family and I constantly go to this beach. We were able to recharge after a hard week. Where will we go now? PLEASE DON'T TAKE OUR BEAUTIFUL BEACH AWAY!!!!!
There was a time when you could walk the whole Jumeirah beach, and I remember it. Now theres only small isolated pieces left, taking this away too might as well be shutting the beach down for public for good, then Dubai should not bother advertising thier beaches for tourism.
Guys, Dubai's recent success has gone through its head, lets spread to other emirates, somebody put it on international scale - the realities & not only what Dubai wants outside world to see - rents/traffic/toll tax on sheikh zayed road/no permanent residency/no strikes/no unions/no representation for expatriates & to add to that this beach - lets join together to put the things back at the right place
Using Jumeirah Beach for a private development is disgusting. Its an act of terrorism. The free beach is beautiful, and by destroying it, you will be destroying certain events such as the anual watching the fireworks on the beach at new year. DO NOT TAKE THIS AWAY FROM THE POEPLE.
if you take the Dubai's only beach away,to match it, why dont you just take the sky away?
its easy, just build a concrete roof above the city and and put towers on top of it,good idea, ha?
