without a beach jumeirah will never be the same. its the only calm, genuinely beautiful place remaining. without the beach dubai is going to be a complete new yorker. THAT WOULD SUCK >
ITS COMLETELY UNFAIR !! , so if We wanna go to the beach we have to go all the way to JABAL ALI ?! OR MEMZARR...wthll...LEAVE US THE THE OPEN BEACH...i mean that wat makes jumaira special... if u take it away ..ITS NOT GONNA MAKE THIGS BETTER
As usual in dubai its all about making more money and destroying the coastline on the way, just like both palm islands have ruined the beaches and waves, THANK YOU DUBAI!
save the beach!!!
young people and a lot of others in Dubai cannot afford pricey beach club memberships .. the beach is somewhere we can go and chill with friends and get away from stresses of dubai and now ur taking that away.. Dubai is just one big building site... no natural beauty anymore...
Please also consider the needs of residents who are making the vision of Dubai a reality for investors and tourists. This is one of the few places that has been untouched by development, where we can enjoy the natural beauty of the country we all so love.
I think there's enough unhabited space & desert in the country to build on, why go straight for the naturally beautiful palces? Just doesn't seem wise really...
Jumeirah Beach is one of the highlights of the city, not to mention of Dubai itself. It is one of the few places left where one can actually go and relax from the busy lifestyles lead here. I grew up right next to this beach and I want to have my children grow up going to this beach as well. Dubai doesn't need any more added projects...keep it simple; that used to be the beauty of Dubai.
The public beach is one of the very few places left untouch, nature, simple, not aimed at your wallet and close to Dubai traditions (fishing, dows etc.). you remove it from its residents and visitors and Dubai becomes more Disney/Las Vegas. We all leave ASAP …, boycott your malls and you are left with the Russian tourists…nice move
The govt thinks they are beautifying the place. In the bargain one fine day all will want to leave the country & there will be no one. With the cost of living already shooting high, this will be like the last straw!!!
I really hope this works. Its really sad how goverments of every part of the world try to cash in on everything you can possibly imagine.Including our lives.
I hope the Government and the Municipality of Dubai both read this petition and take it seriously as its a very heart-felt issue for the people of Dubai. Like most of the other people on this petition, I too have been born and raised in the wonderful city of Dubai, but to have the beaches we have been going to over the last 20 years closed is disgraceful. Dubai has always given to its people and now its taking from us and giving to the tourists? That is shameful.
The beach in dubai constitutes one of its biggest attractions for tourists and residents alike, and the fact that it is just minutes away from a big portion of its residential area gives it an even bigger charm. Please don't destroy it.
not only would u ruin a beach haven for most of the people in dubai, but ur also wasting ur time with another project...let the ones u r working on finish first, then think about adding more projects!!! big mistake to close down this public beach....
Dubai have one of the most pleasant and beautiful public beach I've ever seen. And anybody living here, regardless their nationality or background have this wonderful oportunity to meet and gather there on the week end after a hard working week. Please don't make this disappear! The Municipality would make a big mistake in closing the public beaches in Dubai.
Closing the beach will not help on the tourism and if concrete blocks are installed that will destroy the sea view, and if private beach, this will be reserved for rich people, and other will have to go outside Dubai.
This is a shame.
What a real shame that the Authorities even thought this was a good idea. Apart from paying hotel fees, there is only this option. Not everyone can afford the hotels, especially families. Don't let this happen, please
We have been going to this beach since the birth of our first child. This beach means Dubai to our children. What a shame to lose one of the few places where people of all nationalities and income levels could enjoy the beauty of Dubai together. Now we can look forward to another tacky beach club for the rich. Dubai is losing its perspective.
What a shame that some people value money and concrete buildings over scenic locations to spend time with friends and family. One of the few places I like to go to remind myself that Dubai is a beautiful place and its going to be gone to the corporate hacks whose primary concern is how much money they will make.
How tragic that the government of Dubai thinks only of urbanisation and making more money ignoring the welfare and quality of life of the very people who are helping to build/run/organise/keep cogs turning. Perhaps they should consider where Dubai would be without this dedicated workforce - from accountants and secretaries to labourers, who are getting uphappier by the day. Enough is enough.
