You are removing one of the reasons I came to this city. Why do humans limit access to something God has granted for free? Now only the rich who love pools will enjoy the site - how sad! Save the beach!!!
One of the attractions for people to move to Dubai, live and work here and help the economy is that it has a beautiful coastline and clean beaches. To make them unavailable to the public would surely make Dubai less attractive to people, not only to those who live here, but those thinking of moving here and setting up businesses here. Dubai needs to preserve some of its coastline for the public.
Money Money Money is gonna destroy this place..Whats gonna happen to the lower and middle class in Dubai if we have to start paying for everything we do and things that are free are now taken away. We are here to build this place and now it is starting to drive all the middle and lower class away as it will eventually be impossible to survive here.Save this beach as it is the only real natuaral part that is left on the coast...
After being a visitor to Dubai for the last 7 years my husband and I are very sad to hear of the proposed development which will spoil one of the few remaining beaches which is used and enjoyed by a wonderful mix of people. Dubai is rapidly destroying what it wants to create; an attraction for world tourism.
Another example of the New "Dubai". A great shame but I am afraid it is the way Dubai is going. The vision that once served all is becioming blurred. The same is about to happen to the main epxat sports and leisure area, The Exiles Rugby Club, Darjeeling Cricket Club abd Dubai Country Club. When will people realise that there is less and less free leisure areas left. All wolrd class big cities have free and accessible areas for their residents. Dubai is destroying al of them in the name of progress. Nothing we can do I am afraid.
While Dubai moves aheadon some fronts in leaps and bounds setting anexample for the world to follow, the approach thatis taken toward environmental matters isdisgraceful, with no consideration for the general public whether be expats or locals.
Lack of public consultation on matters of this nature is a serious concern for the area. There is a total disregard for those who use these areas and the public as a whole. While Dubai moves ahead on some fronts in leaps and bounds setting an example for the world to follow, the approach that is taken toward environmental matters is disgraceful.
It is the only free stretch of clean sea and sand available for residents of Dubai within the city.
We will be forced to then only use beaches through 5 star hotels which is absurd.
If you see the amount of people (nationals and expats), using Jumeira beach on any single day, the authorities can easily make out how important it is to keep the beach as it is.
Please keep it open, we Filipinos are fond of going to beaches. This is one of the few places where we can have a get together party!!! This is where I met my hubby too. please open this memorable place hu!hu!hu!
Where will the real hard workers of the city go? Those who don't have the money or priveleges some of us have? Save this beautiful spot so that everyone - young, old, rich, poor...can ENJOY something natural and for FREE
I was shocked when a friend of mine hit me with the news. I believe this is absurd and it will definitely have a negative impact on residents. I hope that Dubai's government would take the right decision with this regards before turning the whole city into a big vending machine, you have to insert a coin before getting anything out of it.
If builders think its a pebbly & useless sandy shore at the edge of the sea then it has to live as its the only free stretch amongst the commercial zone that enhances the sourrounding developments. Live and let live.
Jumeirah beach is the only best place for everybody to spend a nice outing near sea. Please do not kill it by construction. I face similar situation at my apartment. 3 months back I had view of whole Mankhool till DDD and now all I see is wall of a building constructed next to mine which makes me feel like blind. Use rest of the area after Jebel Ali for new property
I've been a resident of Dubai for over 20 years. I grew up in this city; i've seen its transformation from barren desert to a bustling metropolis but at the same time i also see that a lot of areas where families used to go for picnic's or leisure have gone for a toss. One such place is the Jumeirah beach. We keep telling people outside of the country about the world renowned beaches of Jumeirah and its white sands, etc but what's the point when its disappearing as fast as the roads are getting filled with cars.
The Jumeirah beach of today is part of Dubai's history whether you like it or not. It's a place for fun and relaxation for the public at large. At the rate things are moving, one day they'll decide enough with the Dubai creek, lets fill it up with sand and rocks and make more room for property development.
To everyone who's been a resident of Dubai, the Jumeirah Beach is the first that comes to mind for relaxation and fun. In a city where stress is rising as fast as its property developments, i would humbly request the Ruler of this emirate that seems to do the impossible to reconsider this move. Because in the name of growth, you are destroying a part of the emirates history.
I may not be someone who's part of this country and its people, but all said and done this country in particular this city of Dubai is a part of me. My home away from home!
Let's not leave it to memories!!!
