dont take away all the beaches, leave some for the public! the city is dependant on its expats, if it wasnt for them this city would still only consist of bastakyia, deira and bur dubai!
We hope H.H. Sheikh Mohamed will consider intervening in this case to protect this natural and beautiful beach, which is part of the high Quality of Life in Dubai.
Dubai has enough space to develop without taking the public beaches away from us. The coastline is a precious asset to us all. It is also is one of the few truly valued natural aspects about Dubai. It will be sad to look back at Dubai in years to come and realise that what was once beautiful has been lost to an overdeveloped man made city with little natural beauty.
i totaly agree woth what Peter and Sandy Pike said earlier,
all beaches are being turend into hotels to attract tourists and satisfiy them,
but what about us locals who have lived here for almost all our lives?!
shouldent we have our needs satisfied aswell?!
its not only bout ppl who live here, its also bout the beautiful scenery that is being totaly destroyed, and these things that are being built and totaly damaging nature and the living creatures in the area...
PlEASE, savour our beaches.
Natural beaches are not easy to come by.
Tourists come and eventually they will not stay or bother!
Changing the coasts for means of more money is NOT healthy for marine life and all other aspects concerned with green peace.
What have future generations to look forward to?
Everything is plastic and manmade!!
Humanity, peace and saving the planet, is this not what it SHOULD be about!!!!
It would be nice if some of the old dubai is kept intact, without this the city will loose its heritage and soul...
come on leave some of the waterfront open to the public, and not just the rich
i love to walk on the beach and hang arnd wid ma frnd and the jumeira beach is one of the beaches i like ....ah u can say like but love the burj al arab view ....amazing plz dont ruin it
Thanks to 7days - the only non government newspaper in Dubai, for running this story and making all aware. Non of the other will run it, because, like Zabeel Investments, they ARE the government. It is always 1984 in Dubai. Thanks Associated Press of the UK for buying this paper. PLEASE run this story in your Daily Mail in the UK!!! Let the most important market for Dubai know the TRUTH of this place!!!
The ruler is only 5th richest man in the world. That is not enough. Hence the beach MUST GO to make him richer. He does not care for common folk. He wants Dubai to be only for the rich. Unlike Abu Dhabi, which is building low income developments, DUBAI DOES NOT CARE. Abu Dhabi is up and coming. Dubai WILL DIE.
It is UNFAIR...
Whenever anyone among many people in Dubai, especially in Jumeira,Umm Sequim,Barsha,Safa,Greens ,Gardens,Jebel Ali and even far places in Dubai, whenver he/she or they want to relax or have a walk on the beach, with Burj Al-Arab and Jumeira Beach Hotel view they will come to this unique beach, we are talking to everybody from any country in the world about this spot of Dubai, and we can see always that Trip Buses in Dubai with many tourists have a stop in this place everyday to show the people how much public beach in Dubai is wonderful, there are many hotels and projects on Dubai Beach, do we still need to kill this natural small area????
Government in Dubai should put an end soon to any project there to save this wonderful beach, I'm sure its a part of famous and nice places in Dubai, known all over the world.
SAVE THE BEACH! please! this beach is used by everyone, it is one of the only natural places to go in this concrete jungle, and it is being destroyed by somthing which isnt really needed! There is plenty of space in Dubai for projects like this so why build here when so many people are against this. I have spoken to many many people about this and not one has agreed with the fact that the building will continue. Also umm sequim or sunset beach is used to surf on as well i use it to surf and so does the increasing surfing community in Dubai. It is popular with tourists and a popular stop in the tour buses because of its natural beauty the sunset and the burj. i could write pages on why this beach should be saved but id be here all night.
!!!
PLEASE SAVE OUR BEACH !!!
Please save our very convenient family unwinding place... i have regural walks on this very beach and live 5 minutes away in albarsha. this is the only pure place that is available in Jumeria which gives a great view to Burj Al Arab and Jumeira beach hotel. I watch the tourists buses come there many times each day where people from all over the place take pictures and have a " Memorable moment" and so do we that live here. Dubai is a shome away from home and Jumeira beach is inseperateable icon of that. Please keep it the way it is.
everyone signing this should all pile onto the beach at a certain time and get a load of pictures taken for the papers, put things into perspective...yes, no, maybe?
Do not take away the free space that our children enjoy, there is SO MUCH building going on that the beauty of Dubai is being engulfed. Give the beaches to the people who cherish the freedom that is around us and not to the money grabbing developers PLEASE!!
The last beautiful public beach (known to many as sunset beach) in dubai where the tide can come in normally and is not ruined by all the island developments. Its absurd to think that the government is thinking of changing this!!
The sad thing is that on the inside this looks like a good idea to the money men but to the rest of the world, unevolved, ill-conceived and just plain greedy. Cities become great cities because of the potential and possibility they present to their residents, this flys right in the face of that and sadly Dubai, you will never be.
Please don't do this to this beautiful beach. For
the past 7 years that Dubai has been our home our family (along with the many other Dubai residents from all facets of Dubai 's ecclectic society ) have loved playing , walking, running, swimming, surfing on this beach. The loss will be enormous in all respects. So sad.
Jumeirah Beach is an open beach where we ALL go to on a daily basis.
It is the well known beach of Dubai and can be compared to the likes of
CAMPS BAY - CAPE TOWN, BONDI BEACH -AUSTRALIA, VARKIZA BEACH-ATHENS, COPOCABANA-BRAZIL, SOUTH BEACH-MIAMI,
PLAYA DEL CARMEN-MEXICO etc
What other beach is Dubai going to claim its fame to???? what other beach do we have ?
LEAVE JUMEIRAH BEACH ALONE PLEASE !!!
We need a beach for our children, for the public, the residents, and the tourists that do not want 5 star luxury all the way !!!!
What has happened to DUBAI - the city that cares ?
Most cities in the world do all possible to preserve and maintain their open beaches -
Not everyone wants to or can afford to belong to beach clubs !!
Jebel Ali Sailing Club has been demolished for MORE high rise buildings, the Ski Club has been demolished for further development at the Creek,
Jebel Ali Beach is non existant and under construction for the JEBEL ALI PALM,
The Jumeirah Beach Park is going to be demolished so that it makes way for the waterway and the new luxury hotel instead of the Jumeirah Beach Club
Dubai has got so much development that to take away the only left open beach is BAD, SAD NEWS !!!
