If we fail to create the right balance for people residing in this town.. it won't be home any longer... but just another town to make hay while the sun shines and leave..
It is one thing keeping tourists happy, but mybe a good idea to think about residents 2 since they are after all the ones who build this city. Also...beachfront real estate - with no beach access, well done!
It's appalling that this can be allowed to happen without taking into consideration how it's going to affect everybody who uses and loves the open beaches.
A public beach promotes a feeling of community and welcomes visitors of all nationalities. All European and tourist countries have free beaches alongside hotel beaches.
If the govenment is to continue attracting Expats to Dubai it is vital that the general public should have access to the beaches which are in close proximity to the city. I think we are all agreed that Dubai has quite enough "proposed" developments underway and the beaches and villas off of Jum beach road are a reflection what small "Heritage" Dubai has left. Additionally, now that "Beach clubs" are full and hotels have resticted entry there are very few beaches left for the general public.
isn't this being a little bit too greedy! If they do go through with the development we should bouycote whatever takes our beaches place. this is not good for the surfering community!!!!
7 years in Dubai now, and I've seen a dozen free beaches get swallowed up in favor of "exclusive" property development but there has to be something that preserves the natural beauty of the coastline left for the general public that doesn't involve driving half way to Abu Dhabi
You are pushing away the residents by building this development. No one wants to live in a city where you can't go to the beach. Soon, no one will be here.
I have played on that beach since I was a child. I grew up here and the beach is something I have always treasured. Please preserve the beautiful natural landscape of Dubai!
If you take away the public beaches you will ruin Dubai. Those of us who are not bizillionaires are getting hit from all sides - soaring rents, lack of school places, crazy traffic, and now no place to go and relax on our day off. Please don't do this. Dubai has enough "mixed use commercial and residential facilities". Save this one for the "little guy".
To keep the public beach(es)is a small piece and small price in Dubai's huge jigsaw - I hope the Government see sense that a work balance is essential to keep everyone happy in this great city. Keep the beach please
