I support this petition. But I'm not so sure about 4 guys that always seem to be doing the dishes? I mean, come on... where does that actually happen? Come on guys, let's go sip some wine while we clean up after the girls... Loved the show.
I support this petition and 100x over. I'm only sad I've just now found it (3/11/2006). The first time I tuned in at 10 on Tuesday I was really disappointed. The second time, really really disappointed. The third time, just bitter. Mostly becuase the cbs website doesn't indicate any sort of change and in just two or three short episodes, I fell in love with this show. What I need to say about how original and unique this show is has already been said. But I say it again--Save Love Monkey!
I support this petition. this show is frickin amazing. i loved it so much and it was so original. i loathe all the haters who decided this show wasn't good enough. Love Monkey was so non typical. i mean no one was murdered, no one stole anyone else's boyfriend/girlfriend, and no onegot married in high school. the music in this show was so good. being a major music fan it rocked. SAVE LOVE MOKEY!!!
I support this petition. OH MAN do I....read on:
'Love Monkey' strikes the right chord
"Love Monkey” is certainly a departure for CBS.
All the network’s current scripted hourlong shows feature dead bodies, cops, lawyers or visitors from beyond the grave. Thankfully, there are no cadavers in the sprightly “Love Monkey,” which premieres Tuesday (see a review here), unless you count the major-label career of record scout Tom Farrell.
Farrell, who’s played by “Ed’s” Tom Cavanagh, is an idealistic music fan who’s obsessed with finding the perfect band — so obsessed that he gets fired by his evil major-label boss (Eric Bogosian). “Every life has its own soundtrack” is the advertising tag line for the show, and though Farrell’s posse of buddies plays an important role in “Love Monkey,” it could well have been titled “Music Freak.”
“The music thing we are approaching with some trepidation,” says Cavanagh by phone from the show’s New York City set. “If we get that wrong, the show definitely doesn’t work.”
The show hired a real singer-songwriter, Teddy Geiger, to play the emerging artist that Farrell pursues in the show’s pilot. And to get the details of the music industry right and to pick songs for the show, “Love Monkey” producers went to Nic Harcourt, the host of Los Angeles’ influential “Morning Becomes Eclectic” public radio show. Harcourt’s also the music supervisor for two other mid-season shows, “In Justice” and the upcoming “What About Brian,” and he says wasn’t looking for another music-supervisor gig, but when he heard what “Love Monkey” was about, he had to sign on.
“It’s an opportunity to really make music the star of the program,” says Harcourt. “This is not music used underneath [dialogue] or as part of the story — music is what the show’s about.”
Indeed, Farrell spends his time going to grimy clubs and trying to find arti
PLEASE BRING IT BACK! I'M SICK OF THE SAME OLE'SHOWS ALWAYS BEING ON TV! What people need is something different, something quirky and original, and that, is Love Monkey
I support this petition. This show was excellent! CBS should play all the episodes filmed (eight), and then make a more informed decision. Airing only three episodes is simply not enough of a chance to watch it grow in ratings.
What happens to entertaining tv? It gets cancelled! So sick and tired of supposedly reality shows, they're not "real" and they suck! If I want to watch reality, I'll view my life in a mirror! Shows are supposed to take you away and enjoy. That's what this one did! Bring it back.
I always recorded this show to watch later due to its being put up against Boston Legal- similar audience, at least in my case. I was not overwhelmed, but I was pleased. And pleasing is something TV rarely accomplishes.
I support this petition. Get this, WE'RE SICK OF REALITY SHOWS AND COP DRAMAS... Bring back Love Monkey, it was truly a breath of fresh air. Three episodes!!!! That's all?? Why even bother? At least give it chance in another timeslot.
Another fantastic show not given a real chance. I loved everything about this - engaging characters, interesting storylines, and an innovative concept, particularly in an entertainment culture dominated by reality nonsense and dozens of crime shows.
I support this petition because Love Monkey was a breath of fresh air from the current stale landscape of primetime TV. Finally an adult dramedy that treats its audience with respect. My wife and I have not seen the like since the West Wing at it peak a few years back. Please CBS, don't tinker with the show, just bring it back and give it a chance.
I support this petition. It is so sad to see how this petition is loosing sigs... I mean come on there was a time when this petition was getting like 100 sigs a day an now it is like 100 sigs every other week...COMEON here we need to get more sigs...LETS GO!
I support this petition. This is a great show, seems that the networks don't "get" Tom Cavanaugh. I loved Ed and now this one seems to be going away already. Give it a chance for goodness sakes.!!!!
I support this petition. Finally a show with no aliens in the water, no lawyers, no investergators and they have to cancel.. I am so tired of all the csi's and Grays anatomy tv shows.. There all coping each other.. They finally come up with something original and what do they do......................
I support this petition because I have never felt like i should be watching this show above anything at all. I refuse to watch anything else but this show and this is true. This show was slotted at 9 on monday over CSI: MIami but I watch Love monkey instead of CSI and the latter was 3 of the csi shows i watch including VeroNica Mars. I say We fight for this right to bring Love Monkey back!
I support this petition.love monkey was great i even moved my tivo recording time for the sheild so i could record it! i was very upset when it stopped because of the competition w/ the sheild, so maybe if they aired it at a different time it WILL do better!!!!!!
I support this petition. SO, springfever, according to this article Tom Cavanagh did not seem very happy to do another series. MY guess is cause he needs to spend all the time in the world with Maureen and now Alice Anne. OH YEAH speaking of Alice today is her month birthday...awww... Happy birthday Alice!... OKAY i am having a blonde moment! OOPS!
ANYWAY bring back this AWESOME show. FORGET THAT REALITY TV CRAP! NOW THAT NEED TO BE IN THE TOLIET!
I support this petition.
Tom Cavanagh was a baller back in the day. He played guard for Queen's University in Canada (Yes, Canada counts), and he shoots baskets nearly everyday. Tom also met and wooed his wife, SI photo editor Maureen Cavanagh, on the basketball court at an NYC gym.
I know I didn't have the balls to do it. Tom, however, feared that his wife, a 'Cuse alum, would not take kindly to such a prediction. And with good reason -- after the upset victory by the Catamounts, her somber tone on the phone prompted Tom to ask her, "Who died?"
THIS IS SILLY...JUST SILLY ARTICLE...WHAT ABOUT LOVE MONKEY WE NEED MORE OF THAT NOT SPORTS....SIGH!
I support this petition. --
THIS is how much TOM CAVANAGH loves THIS SHOW!
He's in love with 'Monkey'-ing around
Tom Cavanagh is bowled over by his TV return

THERE'S A GREAT DEAL TO BE SAID for awakening to anoither day on a job you really enjoy. Look no farther than the amiable Tom Cavanagh as a prime example.
Cavanagh returns to series television, just short of a couple years since his well-received "Ed" ended on a high note. That's because his wistful Ed Stevens, the earnest attorney who practiced from an office inside his bowling alley in dreamy Stuckeyville, Ohio, finally got the girl. His tender pursuit of high-school love Carol Vessey (Julie Bowen) ended in their wedding, celebrated with proper tenderness and expected eccentricity inside Ed's beloved Stuckeybowl.
"I've known a lot of people who've worked on huge hit shows who aren't exactly happy," the softspoken Cavanagh reflects. "I am so exceedingly proud of having worked with ("Ed" producers) Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman. We were exactly on the same wave length. When you're a series actor, the most important thing is wanting to go to the set and be happy doing your job.
"In a strange way, 'Ed' served its purpose well. We got to do stuff that probably wouldn't have worked if we were 'overexposed,' and we were able to satisfy a very faithful audience." Cavanagh laughs. "I mean, c'mon, I spent four years of showing up to work inside a bowling alley and having the time of life. How can you beat that?"
TRUTH BE TOLD, CAVANAGH SEEMS to be trying. He now headlines "Love Monkey," based on the best-selling book by Kyle Smith, CBS is debuting this well-crafted comedy/drama at 10 p.m. Tuesday on WOIO-TV (1
I support this petition. This is
an outrage! Finally, DECENT TV and its gone? Not to mention the WAISTED Talent. The entire cast upheld their end of the bargain. Record executives could have made some bucks - I was ALREADY buying Teddy Geiger's stuff. CBS is stupid, stupid, stupid!
I support this petition.
This is a GREAT SHOW! Love the music that comes out of it and the story is wonderful. I hope it comes back on soon as it was one of my favorite new shows and have been wondering where it went!
I support this petition.
Love Monkey is the most unique and entertaining TV show to come along in - well, I just can't remember. All the reality and crime shows get old. Love Monkey is fresh and very enjoyable. Also, its a great avenue for find new talented musicians to listen to. I am so disappointed.
This show is a breath of fresh air in a television handbasket of reality show smog. Please bring it back! Actually, send it over to HBO, so they won't have to hold back on things.
I support this petition. How on earth could this show be cancelled??? There is nothing else like it on TV right now. Give it a better timeslot and give it a chance. What will happen to Wayne? Won't he get his shot? The last time I was this disappointed with a cancellation was when 'Action' with Jay Mohr was cut.
