Marissa is a core member of the cast. If you lose her you lose a huge part of the fanbase. A contract is a contract Mr. Schwartz! You kill Marissa and you committ TV suicide!
Because I have been a faithful viewer of this show for the last three years and I have fallen in love with Ryan and Marissa and how despite everything, they always came back to one another...please don't let it end this way, this show will never be the same and I NEED my Marissa and Ryan!!!!
I will not watch the next season in the fall if there is no Marissa. The show should have done everything possible to keep the character. Crazy. No more OC for me.
I loved the O.C and watched it faithfully for all 3 seasons, Marissa was the only reason I ever watched the show from when I saw her in a pre view for it, and her and Ryan made the show and Marissa kept it interesting. I'm done with the O.C if they make her dead

because there was never anything better on television than Ben McKenzie/Mischa Barton chemistry, and they way Ryan and Marissa were ruined and eventually killed, is a disgrace and i will NEVER WATCH THIS SHOW AGAIN.
Killing one of the main characters is not doing a good thing for the show.. I know she wanted to leave the show, so they had to get her off.. but not kill her!
I also think Mischa is making a mistake by leaving the OC.. this show made her, and she's pissed off most of her fans!

Unless this was to rattle us up and she's really alive or you plan on doing something awesome with her (like flashbacks, lots of R/M flashbacks when they were happy and having sex) or...something. Just do something. We love her too much, please.

I have faithfully watched this show for three years. Mischa Barton's character IS the OC. I agree that the show will lose a lot of fans. I don't know if I intend on watching next season is she's not on it.

Killing Marissa was the worst possible thing to do. Nobody is gonna watch next season. What were they thinking? Even if Mischa wanted to leave...they should have stuck with the original plan just to make her sail away. I'm devastated.

i support this petiton because i agree that they didnt have to kill marissa off, they could have just wrote her character out of the show and left a window there at least i mean i was crying hard enough when i thought she was moving away when she died i couldnt handle it.

I support this petition because the O.C. is one of my favorite shows, but without Marissa Cooper, it just won't last. I have watched and grown to love Marissa ever since the pilot, and the show would be nothing without her. Fans, including myself, have fallen in Marissa, as well as her relationship with Ryan. Ending that with absolutely no hope isn't fair to the fans.

I, unlike most viewers, did not start watching this show during season one. I started midway through the second season when Marissa and Ryan were separated, but INSTANTLY I saw the amazing chemistry that both Mischa and Ben had together and I was hooked, watiing for them to reunite. I HAD to buy season one and then season two on DVD, and I ended up watching all of season one in less than a 24 time span. I was hooked. I didn't watch this show for Sandy and Kirsten's marriage, I didn't watch it see what kind of trouble Julie Cooper got herself into, I didn't watch it for Seth and Summer breaking up and getting back together every five minutes, and I certainly didn't watch it for Kaitlyn Cooper (go feed China, Kaitlyn), I watched this show for the fairytale romance that Marissa and Ryan shared and to see Mischa and Ben perform together. Now that Mischa is no longer on The OC and her character, Marissa, has been killed off, there is no reason for me to watch this show anymore. A show that does that to its fans, literally slaps them in the face and ridicules what they have been watching for three years, does not deserve my time or my viewership. Unless Mischa and her character are brought back to this show, The OC is dead to me!

I have watched "The O.C." loyally since the Pilot first aired. Marissa Cooper is by far my favorite character that has ever been introduced on the show, and I would like her to still be alive for the upcoming season. Even if Mischa is not a regular, I would like it if she could guest star in at least a few episodes, and the endings left so open for her character (the Trey incident, her communication problem with Ryan) could be given some closure.

The way Marissa was killed of The OC was cruel, unnecessary and unfair to millions of loyal fans who supported this show from the beginning. We gave our heart and soul to the love story of Ryan and Marissa, and the way it ended left me feel betrayed and heartbroken, and I WILL NOT WATCH THE OC without any hope.
Marissa Cooper has been my favorite character on the show since the first episode, and I can't imagine the show without her. Even if it is just in guest appearances. I can not believe that she is really gone, and I truly hope that she will be brought back. The show is not the same without her.
