If she wanted to leave to show, fine. I don't agree with that but she shouldn't have to be forced to stay. There was absolutely no need to kill her character. The story-line about the boat was fine. This is ridiculous, unnecessary drama and an insult to fans.
I was so shocked that they did that, and I can't get over it. The OC will not be the same and I don't know if I'm even going to watch it anymore if they don't bring Marissa back.
The OC will never been the same without Marissa Cooper, everyone in the UK loves the fab 4 and the fact that Ryan and Marissa belong together, we love the Ryan and Marissa storylines in the OC without these I doubt I will watch the OC anymore, long live Ryan and Marissa!!!!!!
i only watch the o.c coz marissas on it shes my fave character n when and if she dies the show will not be interesting and your show will lose alot of viewings
I am sooo not watching this show anymore if Marissa doesn't come back alive and if her sister becomes the "star" so to speak. That is just stupid. They should really think about offering her a lot more money to do the show so maybe she will come back and if she doesn't well then FOX is screwed with w/o her.

I will NOT watch the show without Marissa, how much of an idiot are the writers who decided to kill a main character that has been tormented for three years, all I want is to see Marissa happy and well. I am shocked and devastated... I love the OC its a part of me and it is nothing with out Marissa... Her slutty sister will never be able to take her place... I know the show couldn't go on for ever but I wanted it to end with all of them alive and happy just knowing Marissa was still alive would make me happy.. I just feel like it is pointless now the story line revolved around these kids they made the show... I always thought Marissa and Ryan were destined to be together all I can say is this The OC will never be the same... If They insisted on getting rid of Marissa I would have felt alot better if they didn't have to kill her off... they could have just changed the story around a bit.. But how ever you wanted to get rid of her did she have to die?

I support this petition because the ending was completely ridiculous this way. The show is really killing itself this way, but it might be an intention if the next season is going to be last. Anyway bad ending for the season which just shows lack of an imagination from the scriptwriters.
I will not watch this show ever again if Marissa is really dead. I have been a very loyal fan over the last 3 seasons, and am very saddened to know that my favorite character on my favorite show has died. Please do not kill her.
Wow, Its so good to see someone doing about this. I jumped on-line tonight, in hopes of reading that Mischa Barton wasnt leaving the show. If she wasnt leaving, then of course shes not dead, right? But sadly, I read that she wants to focus on her film career. Thats fine, thats great, thats Dandy (Note the caps on the D), Why kill her? I will not watch Season Four of The OC with Marissa Cooper deceased. Im not saying that I wont watch with her GONE.. just with her deceased. I get that SHE, on her own will, is leaving the show.. But again, why kill the character? Even the possibility of her popping up in an episode down the road, would keep me watching. A "I got a letter from Marissa today" from any of the characters, would keep me watching. But Marissa dead? Nope, not happening. Hope this petition does something. Possibly show Mischa how truly important and loved she was on The OC.
I love Marissa, I literally felt the pain and hopelessness of a real loved one in pain after the car accident. Marissa's character has suffered so much all three seasons, the only reason I keep watching the show is for the hope of her eventual happiness and stability. I DO NOT WANT TO WATCH A SHOW THAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN MAKES ME FEEL SAD!!!!! As it is I do not want to watch the show ever again, if Marissa's character dies, I WILL FOR SURE NEVER WATCH THE OC again! Even if she is not on the show anymore, I don't want her character to die. The writers of this show have NO CLUE what viewers want to see and feel when they watch tv, I was VERY dissapointed in the SAD and DEPRESSING finale!
Because the show will lose an important role. Who should experience then the mad things? What will happen with the fantastic Four? If it was your decision, then Mischa, does not leave the sinking ship.
