There's no reason to kill her! Just have her be in a coma, wake up, decide she's still moving to Hawaii with her father, and then she can be off the show but we can all be happy she's still alive. The characters can mention her, say they've heard from her, etc., and it leaves it open for a guest appearance sometime in the future. I will not watch this show if she is dead.
