That was really cheap, Josh. I don't think I will be able to watch next season ... not because I am mad, but because I am sad. Well, okay, I will watch the first episode, and if Marissa is in a casket, IT IS OVER.
After reading the interviews of creator Josh S. I am appalled, how could he say there was no more Ryan and Marissa story left to tell. They broke up the foursome and my opinion of the show will be forever changed, "how unfortunate" as he puts everything. Who wants to watch Kaitlin in High School anyway. Not me and not many of the people I know who loved to watch the show. The writers and whoever might have just pissed off enough fans that, they will have directly caused their own demise. We fans are loyal not because of the stupid story lines you give, but because of the performances of your actors. Your show would be nothing without those four. Ben, Mischa, Adam, and Rachel. We support them and the way they take what you give them and make it great.
This is a bunch of bullshit. Marissa was the one person that I looked forward to seeing on the show. She helped me though a lot of the shit that i am in. Bring her back, or i will have my dad sue the director. Yes that is right. My dad does wat i want. So bring her back!
killing marissa off the show will be the most stupid thing that they coul'd possibly do on the show, she's one of the main characters!!!! and i think people would like to see how she how she developes as a character and so she just has to live!!! the OC will loose a LOT of viewers if they don't save her!!!!
because i don't understand why she had to die. she could just go to her cruise and don't be on the show, or just a few times. but why kill her? it's too much, and ist bad!
because the main part of the whole series evolved around Marissa and Ryan and in the last episode you made us beleive that maybe there was one last chance for them. If she goes the show will fail, no doubt!
The OC will never be the same again without Marissa. What, are the characters just going to get over her death in an episode or two and forget all about her as a character? Or are they going to mourn the death of their friend/daughter/sister (as normal people would) for the whole next season? THAT sounds like an interesting show to me. Kill off another teenage character and center the show around the other members of the case mourning her death and trying to get over it somehow. Way to go, Josh, sound like you have a hit TV show right there. You deserve to have low ratings if you don't let Marissa survive!
you have an award winning combo of 4 here, so why waste it?!?! admittedly marissa went a bit off the rails but doesnt mean that she has to get wiped from the show! I mean thats what friends are for, TO HELP YOU!!
i support it mostly because the producers must realize that without a main character, the show will get less and less viewers. if you want to loose money, then keep her dead. but, if you want to make more, keep her alive. plus, shes a MAIN character..image the hatred everyone is going to feel for killing off a girl like marissa who has stayed since the beginning.
I will stop watching the OC if Marissa is truly dead, and me and the rest of my friends will NOT be purchasing the Season 3 dvds if she does not come back.
Wow. Well, the end of Marissa Cooper was definitly a surprise! The show will honestly never be the same without her. When you introduce a set of four main charactors in the pilot, the creators need to be very carful who they kill off or could completly uliminate the show. I'd have to say that unfortunatly, killing Marissa was a risky move that may have been the wrong choice. I am an OC fan, so I'll keep watching...I hope the show lasts!
you completly ruined the show expessially if your plan is to base it around Catlin. I know a lot of people, including myself, who will just stop watching if that is what you are planning on doing. SO DON'T!! I would rather you just end it.
The OC will never be as successful without Marissa Cooper. What a dumb way to die! And she didn't get to say goodbye to Ryan. If she cares at all about her fans, she would come back. SAVE MARISSA!
After reading the interview with Josh Schwartz and his thoughts on killing off Marissa, Josh makes good points but fails to see one thing - Marissa is an essential part of "The O.C." and for the loyal fans who have laughed and cried with her throughout the past three years, her death brings a different aspect to the show. It's no longer the same show that attracted all those viewers throughout these past three years. By taking the show in a different direction you're betraying the true fans that have stuck with the show and made it the success it is today. "The O.C." relies heavily on the interactions between the "core four" - Summer, Seth, Ryan AND Marissa. By taking one of those characters out permanently you are taking part of the essence of the show away. Please reconsider the decision of taking off Marissa completely. "The O.C." cannot continue to keep its success without the right elements and right now one of the major ones is missing.
