why kill her? she was leaving, she wasn't my fav char but i didn't like the way the season finale turn out, if she just left you'll have drama and she could come back for a few eps if she liked to, this way i think the show will go down a road that i don't like, like many other viewers, maybe i'll continue to see the oc, but i don't think so, i'll see the 1st ep and i don't think i gonna like it, so i think this was the last season for me, the oc ended.

I have never missed an episode of the O.C, even that less than stellar 2nd season. I thought that the season finale was tasteless and rushed. I had previously heard about rumors that Mischa Barton was thinking about leaving the O.C. because of the spiraling ratings. But i beleive that the show gained back all of its viewers this 3rd season. Honestly, what is the O.C without Marissa Cooper? I hope they are not thinking of having Katelyn take her place because i will definately not watch the show and the writers can expect a sooner than expected end to the O.C...

because without Marissa, the OC is a goner!!! They are losing a huge Marissa Cooper fanbase...even the people who didn't like Marissa in previeous seasons have grown to love her. Josh,you can't just leave the OC's loyal fans without any closure. Ryan and Marissa didnt even say they loved eachother and we all know they did. They just needed to grow up before they could actually make it work. I mean,it was only like 3 episode ago that they even started talking again! And Marissa was still that "troubled" girl next door with her substance abuse and whatever. THERE ARE SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS! I am a die hard Ryan and Marissa fan and I'll watch S04E01 just to see if you have changed your mind. If not..well I think you know...
