I support this petition because XM is sometimes the only way I get to hear Keith's show! I wrote to XM today, but since there's power in numbers, I'm hoping this petition is a better way to get their attention!
I tried to tune into MSNBC today becasue it is the only news channel I will listen to with children in the car and it was gone. It was one of the main reasons I chose XM over Sirius. Please get it back.
since there never is any such thing as 'too much news'. Perhaps between all the stations, little gems of truth will appear.
This country no longer wants to hear just one side. They realize the damage that one-sided news has wrought.
we need a truly "fair and balanced" voice on the dial. Though MSNBC is far from perfect, it's certainly better than Fox and the other radical right talk shows!
MSNBC was the best 24 hour news network you had on your line-up. I regularly listened to Hardball, Countdown, and Scarborough. XM should reconsider this decision especially considering some of the lame channels you continue to broadcast. Bring back MSNBC!!!
Strange. Plenty of room for FOX news and their unbalanced coverage. I think this is political. Someone at XM must not like OLBERMANN because one guy can throw a spotlight on all of the lies of FOX and the BUSH administration.
I listened to MSNBC more than any other XM station other than the NPR one. I am really bummed that i can no longer listen to it before and after the night classes I teach at a university.
With many "news" channels going to infotainment rather than reporting actual happenings, it is important to have a variety of sources to compare and contrast. Compiling information from multiple outlets is the only way to get the whole picture it seems. Eliminating MSNBC would be a diservice to all who are trying to do just that.
because I signed up for XM to get MSNBC. I rarely listen to anything else. I was shocked when it was suddenly eliminated, especially right before midterm elections! If MSNBC isn't reinstated, I'm going to drop XM.
I like a strong counterpoint to FoxNews and CNN. MSNBC pundits give analyses of news events that add to my understanding of what's going on. Bring it back!
I purchased a Delphia xm radio for the sole purpose of listening to Hardball and countdown while I am working out. I am now furious at MSNBC and when I atempt to call and complain, I speak with a person in India that does not know what I am talking about. If MSNBC is not returned to XM radio I will start over and change to Sirus and work to get MSNBC on Sirus. James
Over the time I've had XM radio, I've found myself switching from music during the day to MSNBC from 6-10 religously. More than CNN and FOX, MSNBC's primetime really lends itself to radio and became one of the key reasons I recommended XM to nearly everyone I knew!
because one of the reasons I looked at XM in the first place was so I could listen to Hardball and Keith Olbermann to and from class at night...as my schedule meant I always missed them on TV. The signer who mentioned that Sirius has better NPR/PRI programming is right...but MSNBC was a real deciding factor, until now. I sincerely hope XM reconsiders. Thank you.
Please reconsider. We need another viewpoint and MSNBC provides that. I really don't understand this disappointing decision. Among the news channels, MSNBC is my station of choice.
Unbelievable that you would conitue with fox and that crazy, biase OReilly.
Keith Obleman is smart, informative and entertaining.
That should be reason enough to maintain MSNBC.
MSNBC at least offers various points of view.
FOX offers Bush talking points.
This is America.
If XM is a bush supporter OK but at least let the rest of america make up their own mind.
This is a democracy or at least we thought so.
Why would you drop a station like this.Drop fox its so biased its ridiculous.
Keith Obleman is reason enough to keep msnbc on your air.
He speaks reason fox speaks nothing but Bush talking points. People should hear more than one point of view.
Drop Fox and don't drop MSNBC. Kieth Olbermann is enough reason to keep it. Balance or the quanit concept of fairness is needed badly. Dropping MSNBC is a huge mistake.
because I am an XM customer, who purchased XM for the programming you offered at time of purchase. I can assure you, I will not be happy if you drop MSNBC, mainly because of Keith Olbermann. There is so much shouting and screaming on the airwaves, with Fox news, and it's ilk, MSNBC is one of the few stations where I can get decent news. There are many of us out here, who feel the same way.
I have been an XM subscriber since 2002, when you were a start-up. I accept that programming changes are inevitable, but in this period of round-the-clock news coverage, MSNBC is a vital channel. As a subscriber and listener, I ask that you reinstate it.
MSNBC lets me listen to Countdown with Keith Olbermann when I'm not at home to watch him. MSNBC is far superior to CNN or FOXNEWS. I am angry about this and I am urging XM to reconsider and add MSNBC back to the line up. Thank you.
because after subscribing to XM, to my surprise, I found that having MSNBC available was a valuable part of my XM listening. I listened every evening while walking my dogs. Now I have to adjust my entire evening schedule in order to watch "Countdown" and my dogs are very upset!
XM is worthless as far as news goes without MSNBC. they have a TON of right-wing stations, including Foxnews, Foxnews Talk, ABC News/Talk, etc. MSNBC was the only real balanced network that they had on.
I am very upset about MSNBC being dropped. That and Air American are the main things I listen to. I can listen to Air America on AM. I may drop my subscription. I am wasting money.MSNBC is much better programming than the other TV networks.
I'm an XM subscriber (x2) and am considering dropping my subscription at my next annual renewal if I can get all the major news stations someplace else via sattelite

because: Hardball is great! I listen to it on my drive home. I like both the format and the content of MSNBC. And, Olbermann really is funny! Please reconsider!
The only real channel I listened to while doing the drive home. If XM was looking to reduce the number of news channels, they could have taken the unfair and unbalanced right wing FOX News off first. I will have to look at Sirius to see if they have MSNBC now.
I switched to XM because of MSNBC. XM gave no reason for this except bullsh*t answers. I still have my Sirius receiver on my shelf in my garage. Better dust it off.
The decision to drop MSNBC because of "bandwidth" concerns just doesn't fly with me at a time when XM has room for an endless number of sports talk channels (and now are adding more) and channels like E! MSNBC is a channel I used to listen to nightly in the car and it will be greatly missed.
Petition signers: Please also call XM customer care by phone at 1-800-XM-RADIO and register your complaint that way. Customer service reps indicate they have been getting a lot of calls -and- that XM considers phoned-in complaints to be of much greater importance than e-mails or an online petition so do both!
because MSNBC is the best news channel on XM and one of the main reasons I subscribe. Intelligent prometime programming while CNN has LarryKing and Fox has it's usual GOP press release coverage. Olbermann is the best news show on TV. XM has been a marvelous, premium pay service. If it is about nothing but ratings, we can all listen to CC garbage FOR FREE! Put it back or count out my family's 2 subs.
Let's see: XM gives us FoxNews, FoxNews Talk, AmericaRight, Religious Talk, CNN Dead...all spouting RightWing Talking Points. We on the Left have only AirAmerica at this point, thanks to XM's decision to drop MSNBC. What? Was Keith too powerful for Bu$h and Co. to counter?
MSNBC is an important news source. Dropping it is a huge mistake. False excuses for the drop are also suspect and really leave few options but to view the choice as a politically motivated move, which is sad.
I bought 2 new GM cars with XM radio and have a total of 3 subcriptions. I had the dealer search the SE to find a car with the color and XM radio that my wife wanted. I will not recommend XM to friends because of this. I'm sure the real reason for this has not surfaced yet. I hope MSNBC wises up and puts the complete Hardball on a podcast.
