Signatures #700 through #800 for the Save MSNBC (Ch 130) on XM Satellite Radio petition
Jerry Simmons said 09/13/06, 7:21 am (verified)
Taking MSNBC off of XM is wrong. If MSNBC comes off, FOX needs to come off. If we can't have Olberman, we sure don't need Oreilly. One of the selling point to XM was MSNBC. BRING BACK MSNBC TO XM!
#800

Mike Tischner said 09/13/06, 6:45 am (verified)
Had a choice between NFL or MSNBC. Why should I stay now?
#799

Jonathan Rose said 09/13/06, 5:13 am (verified)
because MSNBC is one of the only reasons I have stayed with XM. Its commentary is excellent and the decision to drop them very shortsighted

#793

Ed Stone said 09/12/06, 10:15 pm (verified)
I can't help but suspect that MSNBC is being singled out for recent Keith Olbermann reports on the Bush Administration. If this is the case then shame on XM.
#792

John Goodman said 09/12/06, 9:59 pm (verified)
because MSNBC is one of the main reasons I subscribe to XM.
#791

Jerry Levitz said 09/12/06, 7:59 pm (verified)
I support this petition because MSNBC was a primary factor in my deciding to subscribe to XM for the two radios I have. Feel as if XM breached the contract! They claim it was a difficult decision, well, make it easy, put MSNBC back on the air.
#790

Steven Payne said 09/12/06, 7:23 pm (verified)
I have three XM radios subscriptions. I listened to MSNBC all day at work. CNN does not cut it and FOX is offensive to me!
#789

Maxsane Mitchell said 09/12/06, 6:42 pm (verified)
Please bring it back. I like hearing different network talk show hosts.
#788

Warren said 09/12/06, 5:51 pm (verified)
I support this petition because MSNBC is the least biased of the mainstream news sources available on XM. I think C-Span and NPR listeners would agree theat CNN and Fox do not qualify as mainstream. MSNBC may carry right and left leaning shows, but at least there NEWS is about content and not an agenda.

Bernard Glassman said 09/12/06, 3:27 pm (verified)
I am not convinced that XM's decsion is not a concession to pressure from the Right. I would need evidence that MSNBC was truly less popular than other, less controversial, channels. XM, to which I was one of its earliest and most loyal subscribers and proselytizers, will be a lot less valuable without MSNBC.
#783

MPoteet said 09/12/06, 1:45 pm (verified)
XM should consider that its financial success is dependent on substantial subscriber growth and creating shareholder value (running it's business right). Taking MSNBC off the channel line-up is not a sound business decision compared to other channel changes that could be made. The XM and MSNBC decision makers should get the emotion off the table and make the right business decision.
#782

Matt Horan said 09/12/06, 4:37 am (verified)
I like Keith Olbermann and the daytime news is good. However, I only want MSNBC back on XM if they start playing Imus in the Morning and the documentaries. No more hours upon hours of constant replays and way outdated Time and Agains. Bring Imus to MSNBC on XM!
#781

Terry Mitchell said 09/12/06, 4:01 am (verified)
I listen to Olberman, Tucker, Scarborough and Hardball. I think this is an awful programming change and in the wake of dropping Ed Schultz I only have Air America as a reason to keep xm. That eans I won't cancel xm but I sure have a lot less options to suit my taste.
#780

Rjobin Edwards said 09/12/06, 4:00 am (verified)
This is really a major disappointment for me. MSNBC is the only news network that I listen to. This is one of the reasons our family subscribed to XM in the first place and we have (3) accounts. Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann are not the average journalstic programs, and other than Lou Dobbs, stand up to these political machines. Please reconsider, I truly think you are doing a severe injustice to your patrons. I feel so less informed now. I certainly don't feel Fox is a legitimate news network and CNN is so boring.

This is incredible! On the anniversary of September 11, with MSNBC carrying the original coverage of that day, XM does not broadcast this? The worst decision ever! Where are the erudite at XM! It was bad enough not putting Imus on the air; get someone else in charge and oh yes you can contact me. Feel free to contact me by phone, email for number, and no calls from any individual with an IQ under 140 accepted...How about not catering to the lowest common denominator?

I'm so disappointed that XM dropped MSNBC! I listened to it on the way home from work. If Sirius picks up MSNBC, I'll drop XM immediately despite a substantial investment in equipment. And I could CARE LESS about Oprah. Martha is another reason to switch to Sirius.

I support this petition because there is an awful lot of "Fox" style news out there. XM Radio was supposed to give alternatives to the media machines. This move means XM is in reality as driven by ratings (those who yell the loudest) as anyone else, only we pay to hear the same old same old.

I am disappointed that XM decided to drop the channel without even consulting with its community base. CNN is a good station, but it can wear on anyone because it is so repititious. FoxNews is nothing more than an extention of the current presidential administration so you have to question their reporting ethics. MSNBC is an alternative that gives a fair representation of both sides and American's need a more diverse exposure without BBC being the only other alternative. Last but not least, as a Microsoft employee, I am not sure for myself if XM radio is a worthwhile investment.
