365On July 1, 2008, Starbucks announced its decision to close 600 stores across the U.S. in the next year. That decision includes the plan to close the Greenville Ave Starbucks Location, Store #6262. While a date for this store closing has not been set, the employees of this store confirm that store #6262 is on the "list" to be closed, despite the fact that this store has been profitable and has increased profitability from the previous year.
There is still time to influence Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, regarding his decision to close OUR STARBUCKS, Store #6262, if we act now! Please take a moment to support these efforts by signing this petition.
We are asking Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, and the Starbucks Coffee Co. to reconsider the decision to close store #6262 and to closely examine the financial and community PAYOFFS of keeping this store open. We urge Howard and the Starbucks team to recognize that Store #6262 embodies the very principles that Starbucks says are important, such as:
--> fostering community and providing a "Third Place" for adults to network and to socialize
--> providing a place for entrepreneurs and small business owners to meet and do business
--> becoming THE neighborhood meeting place of Residents of Greenville Ave and the M-Streets Neighborhoods
We believe that Starbucks #6262 is EXACTLY what Howard Schultz envisioned when he founded Starbucks. If Howard and Starbucks are committed to these original ideas, then they will keep the Greenville Ave location open.
