I support this petition. This IS my 2nd AND 3rd place. I work on projects here, meet my neighbors, walk my dog & stop for coffee. Every Sunday, I meet my Mom here. This is THE embodiment of the "neighborhood" coffee shop. Please do not leave us without our hub!
I support this petition. There are few Starbucks that have the facilities and location to support the social, business, study, and child-friendly needs of the many neighborhood patrons. The Lower Greenville community has been blessed to have this asset. There simply are no good alternatives.
I support this petition. I never thought I would defend a "green devil" but some starbucks have gone beyond a chain coffee joint to become community fixtures. I am further bewildered that the only two locations I do actually swing by are the ones slated to close.
The Lower Greenville Avenue is no ordinary Starbucks: most, if not all, of the baristas are active members of this unique community and its myriad activities. The Lower Greenville, Greenland Hills, Lakewood Heights Neighborhood, and Old East Dallas Neighborhood Associations have all commended the staff and manager here for their participation in our preservation and promotion of this unique neighborhood so rich in history, beauty, and family and community life. This Starbucks may just be another store to the execs on the Seattle mothership; for us, the Lower Greenville Starbucks is a Life Force, it is the heartbeat of a tight-knit affiliation of entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, church-goers, retirees, civic leaders, mothers with tots, and more. One small, but recent example of "6262's" role: slightly more than a month ago, a thunderstorm with high winds knocked out the electricity in the area -- fully three-quarters of the homes and businesses east of I-75, south of Loop 12, and north of I-30 were without electricity for a full 24 hours. The Lower Greenville Avenue Starbucks was somehow spared the loss of electricity -- unlike several others in the immediate area (Gaston/Lakewood Village, Lovers Lane/Greenville, and Mockingbird Station) and it became an operations outpost for Angela Hunt, city council member for this district, crowds of home-owners and apartment dweller who came here to console and advise one another, as well as police patrols, city services and electric utility workers. Because their own homes were affected, it would have been understandable if the crew here had demonstrated anxiety. Instead, they went the extra mile: cheering, consoling and comforting customers; passing along local news about which blocks had power/didn't/or were expected to have it restored soon; what grocery stores and restaurants were open; and streets to avoid because of debris and fallen trees. This Starbucks isn't just EXCEPTIONAL, it is INTEGRAL. Tel
Our neighborhood needs this Starbucks. We can walk to this location, it's not just a chain coffee shop-it's our neighborhood coffee shop. We've had charity events there, meetings, time with friends, etc.
We support this petition. We can ride our bikes there, making it there and back is how we got good at riding. Our parents even bought our new house so that we could keep going to the same Starbucks! Don't make us have to move again!
I support this petition.
This Starbucks is the heart of the neighborhood. I buy the coffee but I'm really going in there for the sense of community. I've met friends, made friends in there. Some Starbucks stores might make sense to close, but this one should be a keeper!
I support this petition. Our Starbucks is unique and stands for everything the original motto was about. It is a family place where everyone knows everyone and the kids can play.
This Starbucks is the hub of the community. It is where new parents can come and meet others, it is an infomration clearing house and, at least until you chose to destroy the exhibit space in your remodel, it was a place for local artists. These functions create more loyalty than Many of us will not go to other stores nearby, as they have a different atmosphere and 'regular'clientele (e.g. SMU students). I support this petition
I support this petition. Better ways to fix your problems exist!
Don't just keep open the "MacDonalds" stores unless all you want to be known for is a color scheme.
I support this petition. I started working with Starbucks at this store and I feel it has a much different vibe than a traditional hectic Starbucks. Sales may be lower but this store has a customer and community connection that is not found at other locations. If sales are not enough at night it is a direct result of problems with the valet service at Gloria's. Close early to cut back on labor and don't let Gloria's absorb this store.
I support this petition. This is one of the only other stores left that still feels like "the 3rd place". Every other store that I've visited has been to loud and hectic and I have not cared to return to them what so ever.
I support this petition. This may be the only Starbucks in Dallas that is situated within a neighborhood; folks come by foot or bicycle. Howard Schultz should come visit the Greenville Ave. location and see for himself the vibrant community that congregates there at all hours every day. If a Dallas location MUST be closed, choose one of the two in NorthPark.
I support this petition. This is one of my favorite office away from the office spots. And there are tons of neighborhood people who work and play here...great for the neighborhood. Please don't close this one.
I support this petition. I am a real estate broker representing many new homeowners to the "M-Streets"! I cannot tell you how many times, I hear, "I want to be within walking distance to my neighborhood Starbucks. Store #6262 sells buyers on the neighborhood! Please do not close this neighborhood gathering place! My clients depend on it!
This is a great location in a great neighborhood. My boyfriend and I walk to this store everyone weekend, and it's always packed with people who know each other. It's truly a neighborhood meeting place. Please remove it from your close list.
I support this petition 100%. I spend at least $5.50 a day, often over $9 a day, at the Greenville Ave Bucks. I choose to go to #6262 as no Starbucks near here has the same charm, neighborhood feel, etc. I will likely spend considerably less at Starbucks in general.
I support this petition. Because I was visiting in Dallas 2oo1 year in the March. I was going in your Starbucks every day to drink coffee. I like your Starbucks, people are very nice there. you must not close 6262! Your customer from Pelhrimov, Ceska republika
