Stop the harassment of the Ocean Beach Fire Dancers!
Our community of Ocean Beach, CA. is a unique and happy place that offers it's own brand of culture and entertainment.

The fire dancers are trained in their skill and observe common-sense measures to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them. The venue in which they choose to share the art they practice is fire-retardant (the beach) and offers quick flame abatement (sand, the beach, saltwater, etc.

While the San Diego Police Department does a fine job of keeping us safe, there are more pressing issues that need addressing vis-a-vis graffiti, vandalism, and theft.

We, the citizens of Ocean Beach, San Diego, potential tourists from the USA and abroad, and anyone else who may choose to visit our community of Ocean Beach would like for the harassment of the fire dancers to end immediately.

The dancers stand to attract more revenue for the city and the local economy through tourism and curiosity-seekers, rather than the petty and picayune action of ticketing them for something that enhances our community and local reputation. "penny wise and pound foolish" seems to be the rule.

Please, stop harassing the fire dancers. They could very well help save our city in a flagging economy.
